"As he puts it" if he said that outright, it's not Fridge

* Why does Peepers lose his confidence in "The Bad Neighbors", to the point that he's asking Hater for help when he knows that Hater is an unreliable ManChild? As he puts it, [[spoiler:Dominator has destroyed their planets, they have only one Skullship and have to hide in Suburbia so that they don't get killed. Also, Peepers' one plan that temporarily incapacitated Dominator ended up making her stronger, which was a factor that he couldn't have predicted. He worries about making things worse while needing to save the galaxy before Dominator destroys all of the planets.]]

* In "The Legend", Wander's reason for not telling the kids he's 'the hero' becomes brilliant: the hero could be anyone.

* "The Waste of Time" shows us that [[spoiler: Wander is [[OlderThanTheyLook older than he looks]]. WordOfGod even states the beard he grows 50 years later is a fake beard he wears to appear old. Although [[TearJerker sad]], it could explain why Wander is so eager to keep making friends wherever he goes: so there will always be a new batch of friends with each generation.]]

* "My Fair Hatey" and the songs "You're the Greatest" and "I'm the Bad Guy" are so well connected to one another it is brilliant. "You're the Greatest" was Lord Hater, in Part One, asking Lord Dominator[[spoiler:'s suit of armor]] questions about what things she likes so he can get to know, with the second part being how he declares, [[CharacterDevelopment with immense development of his character]], that she's the greatest. "I'm the Bad Guy" is essentially Lord Dominator's answer to Lord Hater's questions: she enjoys destroying planets, she enjoys destroying people's hopes and watching them cry, finds the villain business fun, and essentially gives a resounding "NO!" to wanting to date Lord Hater. On top of that, she roundabout acknowledges that she is "the greatest", in her mind, by calling herself THE Bad Guy, nailing down the coffin of all the romance tropes that Hater and Wander thought would work with her. Lord Hater asked a question, and he got an answer in spades.

This "brilliance" relies on a generalization that might not even apply to Dominator (does she REALLY seem like the kind of person who regularly buys candy?) | Some of this Fridge Horror isn't really fridge (if the show outright shows you this stuff (people in fear from the invasions, Wander and Sylvia upset about things) then it's not fridge.)

* At the end of "The Battle Royale" [[spoiler:it turns out Dominator knew the ring was fake the whole time. Dominator is a girl and most people who buy ring pops are girls, so that's probably how she recognised it.]]

* Imagine living on a planet in Wander and Sylvia's galaxy. You'd have to live with the possibility that your home could be conquered (or even destroyed) and your people enslaved by one of dozens of galactic conquerors who take over planets simply to show off how evil they are. It gets to the point where your standards become so low that you would rather have a skeleton rule over you than a sandwich.
** For that matter, imagine having to endure invasion after invasion after invasion as your planet is subject to the tug of war between dozens of established villains before finally being destroyed by an unstoppable OmnicidalManiac.

* Sylvia at the end of "The Night Out" is possibly the biggest {{Woobie}}; the ''one'' time she tries to have fun and cuts loose without Wander around as her MoralityChain, she ends up spending the night with Lord Dominator, the latter who has disguised herself pretty well, trashes up a karaoke bar and gets up to wild shenanigans, at a time when Dominator is without her armor or robot army and thus more vulnerable. Sylvia is probably kicking herself for not recognizing Dominator [[spoiler:when Wander did despite "D"'s effective disguise]] and getting into trouble with her rather than trying to take the maniac down.
* The fact that Wander and Sylvia [[spoiler:have failed to find a way to stop Dominator from destroying the galaxy, in part because Wander's personality has interfered with two of Sylvia's attempts to find a useful weapon, that is with Neckbeard's items and the robot]]. No wonder Wander is close to tears in "The Flower."
* Also the fact that [[spoiler:even when facing the end of the galaxy, Wander and Sylvia can't form an EnemyMine with Hater and Peepers, despite Wander wanting to be friends with "Hatey". This doesn't bode well for Wander's attempts to befriend Hater or for the latter two to pull a HeelFaceTurn.]]

* Upon first viewing it, "The Breakfast" would seem like merely a genious laughterfest utilizing the limits of animation. But upon closer inspection, it's a bit deeper than that. Now, compare the two, Wander and Hater, and how their morning routines are done; there are more parallells to be noticed than the obvious ones. Wander is proceeding with them with the help of nature and what it offers, whilst Hater has everything practically handed to him. Despite that, however, it seems to go more smoothly for the former. To list their activities: 1) Wander showers with the help of a waterfall cheerfully; Hater groans while using his more luxurious shower. 2) Wander successfully brushes his teeth with a pinecone; Hater uses his electric toothbrush, but it's less effective. 3) Wander does push-ups just out of free will and spirit; Hater is clothed in work-out attire, ready for the occasion, and yet only does one push-up. Then of course the premise kicks off; to summarize, Wander breaks a sweat to get breakfast for him and Sylvia; Hater gets served everything to him by Peepers but wants none of it, instead tries a hand at making it himself, with stinky results. Now to the brilliance; what does this tell us? Is resourceful and convenient advantages what makes our day better? No, nature is huge, there's plenty to go around. Is Wander having it easier because he's the hero racking up the karma points? No, he clearly had trouble trying to get that egg and baking bread took some effort. Did Hater's day start terrible ''because'' he had plenty of provisions, as a subtle way of saying how modern lifestyles can spoil us? Neither is it that. What this tropette got hit with while watching this episode the second time answered the question: it was their ''attitudes''. Wander is a happy-go-lucky, caring and positive guy, it would take effort to ruin his day. Hater, true to his name, is more negative and cynical, thus his day is going to serve him mutually. You can have all the physical advantages in the world or you could not; what determines the outcome of your day in the end is how idealistic you are. [[note]] To further prove this, when Wander and Hater get a half glass of juice, the former shouts" Half full" and the latter "Half empty" [[/note]] As someone who suffers chronic depression, this was quite an unexpectedly uplifting thought from an otherwise lighthearted cartoon, and sealed "The Breakfast" as one of her favorite episodes. - Tropers/MelancholyUtopia

* Why is Wander so confident about at first befriending Dominator and then [[spoiler:setting her up with Hater?]] Because as "The Waste of Time" shows, he has spent [[spoiler:years doing the same tricks to reform bad guys with kindness, if Major Threat is any proof.]] There is one problem, though; Dominator doesn't fit in the mold of previous bad guys in that she doesn't practice PragmaticVillainy like Peepers or have a need to rule others the way Hater does. Hater craves power and companionship, despite his denial about the latter, but Dominator craves destruction and she doesn't have a conscience.

* At the end of "The Cartoon," [[spoiler:Dominator's]] choice of cartoon is revealed to be a Scooby Doo-like version of ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls''. A perfect fit, given [[spoiler:allegorically she's supposed to represent more serious narrative-driven cartoons (as opposed to the more episodic comedy-driven series like ''Wander'' itself), of which ''Gravity Falls'' is one of the more stand-out examples]].

* Imagine living on a planet in Wander and Sylvia's galaxy. You'd have to live with the possibility that your home could be conquered (or even destroyed)and your people enslaved by one of dozens of galactic conquerors who take over planets simply to show off how evil they are.

* Wander at the beginning of "The Wanders" makes a good point in that he wanted to save the baby squirrel from whatever terrible thing was in the cave, so that nothing would happen to it. Being a baby, the squirrel's personality would be even more fragmented and underdeveloped

Being a baby, the squirrel's personality would be even more fragmented and underdevelopedunderdeveloped, and Sylvia wouldn't necessarily have been able to invoke FlawExploitation the way she did when Wander's personality fragmented. That could have been AdultFear there in trying and failing to save a baby from CessationOfExistence.

* Wander's attempt to [[spoiler: pair up Dominator and Hater]] ends up adding a new conflict for Peepers to handle, in that [[spoiler: Hater has become DistractedByTheSexy with Dominator's true form and has a fantasy about marrying her]], while Dominator is the "greatest villain in the galaxy". From a writing point of view, this makes complete sense; Peepers has earned enough clout to manage Hater's conquests, and to invoke his boss's FlawExploitation to further his plans. [[spoiler: Having to deal with his boss LookingForLoveInTheWrongPlaces]] will mess with his plans for universal conquest, and create more storylines for the rest of the season.

* At the end of "The Battle Royale" [[spoiler:it turns out Dominator knew the ring was fake the whole time. Dominator is a girl and most people who buy ring pops are girls, so that's probably how she recognised it.

* It's likely he didn't intend this, but Doctor Screwball was a threat, since [[TickleTorture constant tickling]] can kill people due to their lungs not getting enough oxygen while laughing. He could have killed Sylvia, Hater and Peepers, and the entire population of Cluckulon had Wander not stopped him.
