* Squirtle is mentioned to be level 98 after the timeskip, which is oddly specific. Some Pokémon, like Starters, can only evolve upon leveling up, and since Squirtle evolves into Wartortle at the end of the episode, that means he reached level 99. If he evolves one more time into Blastoise, that'll happen right at level 100, at which point evolution would become impossible since he can't level up any further.

* During the "Rock Smasher" song, Geodude says multiple times in different ways that Charmander will die, and at one point he (nearly) traps him in a dug grave marked "LIZARD". At the end of the episode, while it's not by Geodude's hand, Charmander is indeed killed.

* Seeing how blindly obedient Snover are, is it any wonder their evolution Abomasnow is the same?

* Turtwig gets mad that Squirtle doesn't know his name and calls him "Bulbasaur", but there are hints of this being the case with Chimchar too; Squirtle only refers to him as "Char", which while being the last syllable of his name, is also the ''first'' syllable of Charmander, meaning Squirtle may have called him that at first and then kept doing it because nobody called him out on it.

* After the timeskip, it seems like nobody has gone to help Mewtwo against [=MissingNo=]. How many Pokémon would it have assimilated by now, considering it got Hitmonchan and Haunter in such a short span of time? Is Mewtwo even able to hold it off anymore?

The Everstone doesn't lock a Pokémon's level, it prevents it from evolving.

* Why Squirtle locking himself to level 98 with an Everstone? It is because once he finishes living his childhood, he plans on evolving twice, becoming a Wartortle at level 99 and finally a Blastoise at level 100. Level 98 is the highest he can go before the window closes!!

* The lowest level a Golem can be is level 25 (assuming you trade it immediately after evolving a Geodude into a Graveler). So of course Golem doesn’t listen to Butterfree. Butterfree doesn’t have any badges!

* Though Bulbasaur probably didn't realize what he was doing, he was most likely using the move Teeter Dance against Hitmonchan, which actually confuses the opponent as seen with Hitmonchan upon witnessing the "attack."

* Flareon likely only evolved recently. The only attack's he seems to use are Bite and Tackle which he could've learned as an Eevee, yet he doesn't use and Fire-type moves which implies he hasn't leveled up enough to learn any, but also didn't start out knowing any. This might also explain his ego; now that he's evolved he things he's beyond what the Starters can handle even though he hasn't really had time to take advantage of it.

* The title of Geodude's song "ROCK SMASHER" not only fits its tone, but also references the in-game move "Rock Smash" used to destroy boulders in the overworld, something Geodude actually does during the song.

* If you consider what types the Pokemon Missingno. assimilated up to the point where Mewtwo steps in, it makes sense he’d be able to beat it back relatively easy. Having acquired a Fighting and Ghost-Poison type, Missingno. would be 4X weak to Mewtwo’s Psychic type.

* The reason Caterpie has managed to avoid being killed by Pidgeotto twice now is because they've fended him off by using Whiskers to poison him, which lines up with how Sandshrew mentions him getting poisoned multiple times previously.
* This version of Red is so stupid because he's only just started his Pokemon journey and knows absolutely nothing about how to play the game. He's representative of someone who's playing a Pokemon game for the very first time.
* Squirtle doesn't know any new moves by the time he fights Charmander because he's lost every battle he's been in up to that point, and so he hasn't gained any EXP to be able to level up and learn any.
