* With theis game's release, comes a genius little detail that ties the [=MercuryStream=] ''Metroid''s back to ''VideoGame/MetroidZeroMission'', even foreshadowing the climax of the game itself. Remember how, to get the Fully Powered Suit, Samus had to pass the Ruins Test in Chozodia? She had to prove herself in combat against a living mural known as the God of War. A mural designed after a valiant Chozo warrior, that looks noticeably different from both Old Bird and Grey Voice, and appears to be a Mawkin. A Chozo deity that attacks with a lightning power that's seemingly more mystical than scientific. An elite Chozo warrior that tests Samus' might in combat, fully ready to kill her if she fails the test, to determine whether she's worthy of its power. A Mawkin using what appears to be a lightning Aeion, considered a god due to its combat power... sound like anyone we know? The Ruins Test is either what Raven Beak sees himself as, or perhaps even an effigy of Raven Beak himself. Samus already surpassed him, right at the very start of her career.

* Samus never gets the Core-X from Experiment No. Z-57, as it dunks itself into lava during its figth, and is later destroyed when it decides to take over Raven Beak. Despite that, it can be assumed that on both occasions, it would have given some version of the Hyper Beam early. It's the Experiments' main attack in its fight, and Raven Beak makes use of it as well in his. It adds another layer to Samus destroying the X-Parasite, as by that point, it had nothing left to give to her.

It's pretty well-established in Metroid Other M, that the Federation ended up cloning Ridley unwittingly because his DNA was amidst the remains on Samus's suit. It's how the Federation got hold of Metroid DNA to make the Metroid Queen on the Bottle Ship as the last Metroid exploded directly over Samus. Because Ridley usually dies in Super Metroid, grabbing Samus in his talons before exploding, it's not hard to imagine his DNA ended up on her... and from there, the Federation made use of all the DNA samples they got off of Samus's suit before "giving it a polish".

* Kraid's precence after Super Metroid may seem odd at first glance, given Zebes was outright destroyed at the end of that game. But the Galactic Federation managed to get ahold of Ridley's remains somehow, a feat that would've faced the same challenges. Given at that point Ridley had been brought back by the space pirates twice, and Kraid once, the most likely answer is the space pirates had samples of genetic material on hand for future attempts should things go sour once again. If these made it off Zebes before it blew up, or wasn't even on the planet to begin with, then the samples would've escaped Zebes' destruction. With the Federation seemingly clamping down on space pirate activity and the group seemingly ceasing to be a major threat afterward, most likely the GF captured space pirate assets that contained a backup of Ridley's DNA, while Kraid's DNA fell into Raven Beak's hands at some point. Chances are he was raiding the last remhnants of the space pirates hoping they might have preserved a metroid sample, which presumably failed as those samples either didn't make it off Zebes, ended up in Federation hands, or else the pirates never got the time to set aside DNA samples from their resurrected Metroid breeding program before Samus wiped everything out as usual.
