* In one of the clubs, there's section where the avatars are having an orgy and this basically constitutes rape on all avatars by the players because not only are those poor people unable to properly consent, but odds are, some of those people were forced to have sex with those outside their preferred gender.

** Taken to an even more horrifying level, it's likely people have to sign waivers to allow themselves to be controlled. ''Just how fucked up is the outside world that people are '''willingly''' subjecting themselves to this??''

* All those avatars killed in ''Society'' were probably innocent and down-on-their-luck people. Rick Rape was probably just a normal guy who's forced to sexually assault multiple people and gets his back broken for something that wasn't even his fault.

Not really fridge horror, since it\'s right on the surface

* FridgeHorror: The whole premise of "Society" just goes from bad to worse throughout the movie. But think about this. All those people being forced to act against their will are being controlled by people with sick fetishes and way too much free time. It's essentially innocent people being forced to act out Rule 34 and having no say whatsoever. Now think about all the {{Squick}} you've seen on the internet...
** They absolutely have a say, in that every avatar in "Society" signed up for it and is paid a salary. It would be uncomfortable and occasionally unbearable, but so would starring in porn. Castle simply found all their prices.

this is a headscratcher

* FridgeLogic: A question posed by one reviewer: If Butler's character is controlled by someone else in every match, ''how does that make '''him''' a badass''?
** Its mentioned early on that if a player is totally in control, then the lag between player and avatar ("the ping") often proves to be fatal in combat, thus, some degree of their own autonomy is still in effect. Tillman even notes that when its time to pull the trigger, it's ''him'' that's doing it, not the person controlling him.
*** Also since he's physically doing everything, making it as much as his own skill in combat as his controller, ''how does that '''not''' make him a badass?''
