True Art Is Incomprehensible is now an in-universe trope as per TRS.

* The end of the first opening, and several bits of the second, feature Yuno going AxCrazy with what appears to be another Yuno and then fusing with her. While at first glance this may look like your typical [[TrueArtIsIncomprehensible random Anime opening moment]], it becomes a great form of foreshadowing when you consider future revelations about Yuno.

* Yuno's [[spoiler:memory edits]]. Let's look at it from her perspective. [[spoiler:She just traveled back in time and killed her other self, to prevent Yukki from dying in the end, and to finally "come together" with him. The key is, the first time, things actually went mostly right. She and Yukki were the last survivors, and they cared about each other, but they screwed up in the end and they apparently didn't get as close as Yuno wanted. So she would want to not remember things that would change this. But she had to remember the gist of why and how she came, and she had to remember her love for Yukki to further it. So she keeps those things, and because she keeps those, she risks causing some changes, and so she gives herself some other memories to keep an advantage in the game: seemingly the knowledge that they would end up fighting Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth, as well as perhaps some fighting skills.]] The result? Someone who knows things, particularly that she loves Yukki and needs to protect and come together with him, but yet she doesn't have a complete idea of why she knows them. In other words, as deranged a Yandere as she turns out in the time since.

\n* Yuno's first response to seeing Yuki's parents was rather... weird. Her first thought was to kill them but when she gets to know them, quickly changed her mind to be happy Yuki has such wonderful parents. Both make much more sense when you remember Yuno's own parents had abused her, causing her to be inclined to thinking parents are bad. Also, Yuki's parents looked like angels in comparison to Yuno's own abusive ones.

In addition, Diana is considered the counterpart of the Greek goddess, Artemis, which is fitting in that his daughter, Hinata, is named for the Greek god of prophecy, Apollo. This Fridge Logic is just Headscratchers on the wrong page

* Given that gods in this series are shown to be able to [[spoiler: edit the memories of themselves or others]] (with [[spoiler:Yuno]] as a good example), take into consideration just ''how'' Deus became Yuki's [[NotSoImaginaryFriend "Imaginary" Friend]]. In other words, he quite literally entered Yukiteru's mind and manipulated his memory so Yuki would remember himself as thinking Deus up. And the manner of ''how'' [[MindRape horrific]] that might have been in practice only adds to it.

!!FridgeLogic
* In episodes 13/14 of the anime, the deathtrap meant to kill [[spoiler:Akise, Mao, and Kousaka]] was changed from a room filling up with cement to a room filling up with gas. They manage to escape by [[spoiler:having Kousaka crawl through the air vent to the control room where Yuno, Yukiteru, and Hinata are, and having him unlock the door from there]]. That gives me two questions, though. First, how is the gas supposed to fill the room if there's an air vent? And second, why would [[spoiler:Yuno]] use gas when the air vent in that room is also connected to the vent in her own room (which means [[spoiler:it could be a threat to Yukki]])?
** That depends on what kind of gas it is. Many gases are denser than air, so they would settle on the floor and fill the room from the bottom up, only suffocating people when the gas level has reached their heads, in a manner similar to filling the room with water but without any possibility of swimming. Something like carbon dioxide would work, as it would be heavy enough to displace oxygen and eventually suffocate everyone in the room, but at the same time non-toxic enough that it wouldn't cause a problem from accidental exposure if a little overflowed into the control room.
* Why was Yuno able to [[spoiler:open the sealed vault? Sure, she was the real Yuno from the first world -- but she was still ''adopted'' even in the first world, and there's no particular reason why it would have been designed to open for the adoptive daughter of its creator. There were two reasons why the mayor thought she wouldn't be able to open it, and her backstory only answers one of them.]]
** That might be a bad reason, but that was the reason, also an adopted daughter isn't any less to most parents than a biological one, so that hardly matters. Maybe they wanted her to succeed the bank one day or have someone be able to open it in case of an emergency?
** Going with the above point, it can be assumed that, if her parents wanted her assuming control of the bank one day, they would plan on teaching her the ropes. Depends on how early they wanted to, but Yuno could have been taken to the bank long before in order to get a feel for the place by her father before he started drifting away from the family. Say the worst case scenario happens, and robbers try to get into the place while a young Yuno is there. What would be a better scenario? The young, defenseless daughter of the bank's head being stuck hiding under a desk or something in hopes they don't know who she is or that she can open the vault, or her with hopefully a head start being able to run into a highly secure and heavy vault until the cops show up? And even if she Were caught by said hypothetical bank robbers, there would be little danger of them using her to open the vault unless she tells them she can since a) she looks nothing like her (adoptive) parents and they would probably not know she's a child of her father's unless they read or heard about her beforehand, and b) even if they ''did'' know who she was, they might assume that there would be no reason for her to be able to open the vault given she's so young.
* The Future Diaries predict the future up to 90 days. This should be more than enough time for any competent Diary User to find a DEAD END, but most of them are caught off-guard, and some don't even have time to see the DEAD END.
** It is because the actions of diary users keep changing the future - the only predictions that stay valid for 90 days are those that would come true regardless of any diary user's actions. The dead end warning is only displayed once the user's death becomes almost certain.
** Even if not necessarily almost certain, a high probablility might be enough to trigger and keep a Dead End. Were that not the case, Yuki's first Dead End may have changed the moment Yuno showed up to help him against the 3rd, seeing as it was her intervention that saved him. But so long as 3rd was still alive, the probability of Yuki dying was high enough that the Dead End remained until the 3rd was actually eliminated.
* Episode 22, Yuki's friends are all rooting for him to win (and agree he is the most worthy to become god) but they discover [[spoiler: that even once he wins the game he won't be able to resurrect the dead, which would negate his primary reason to go on AND make him unable to cope with killing number 8 and Yuno]]. Instead of keeping this knowledge to themselves so that Yuki can win the game before [[spoiler: the world ends(it's visibly crumbling around them at this point) ]] they decide that they NEED to not only tell him, they need to get number 8 to safety so... so what exactly? They never explain what they planned to do after getting 8 away, even if Yuki went through with killing Yuno once he finds out the horrible truth he wont be able to kill 8 and win the game so the world will end. What the hell were they thinking?
** At that point, Yuki's friends thought that Yuno's main goal was to win the game and become the new god. Their reasoning was that Yuno wouldn't try to kill Yuki so long as there was another Diary User around. The entire point of the plan was to get Yuno killed ''before'' Eighth so she wouldn't have a chance to kill Yuki when all was said and done. Doing that required convincing Yuki that she was lying, and keeping Eighth safe long enough to do so. The better question is: Why didn't Akise kill Yuno when he had the chance? And, even better than that, why did he ''patch up her wounds?''
* ''Why does anyone have to die after it's just down to both Yuno and Yuki?'' Deus was the only arbitrator of the game, and he kicks the bucket, and Yuno is already conferred godhood in spite of Yuki not being dead only because they called it too early, so we know that the game and its completion isn't a condition bound by some unbreakable laws but just some really powerful entity looking for some good sport and he actually could have just given someone the throne.
** Mur Mur oversaw the game in place of Deus, and [[spoiler:even if she wasn't secretly working for Yuno]], she's still be bound by his rules (and {{Power Limiter}}s) to make sure the game follows the rules.

* Everything seems fine in the end with [[spoiler:Yuno and Yuki being reunited and becoming God together]]. That is, until you start to wonder - [[spoiler:Did 3rd world Yuno have to play the game as well]]? And does that mean [[spoiler:she killed 3rd world Yuki]]? Not to mention this means that [[spoiler:everyone from the 3rd world is dead]] too...
** Considering that Deus ''picks'' them as his successor, probably not. The whole point to the game was to find a successor, after all.
** There is a panel with the 3rd-world 11th specifically telling Deus that he's canceling his plans for a "Future diary game." Also it's presumed that 3rd-world Deus came and found 2nd-world Yuki and 3rd-world Yuno to replace him before the 3rd world could end.
** However it could also mean [[spoiler:4th world Yuki and Yuno would play the game identical to the 1st world which would send 4th world Yuno to the 5th world which would result with Yuno commiting suicide, Yuki becoming God of the empty 5th world (identical to the 2nd world) and the 6th world would be a perfect world identical to the 3rd world. Then 7th world Yuki and Yuno play the game identical to the 1st world etc. This loops indefinitely]]...
*** [[spoiler:its kinda rendered moot since its shown that the creation of an alternate timeline requires time travel back to the past and now that the survival game has been cancelled with yuki and yuno taking up the God mantle in the 3rd world no one needs to go back and with that the loop is stopped ]].
** But what happened to the Yukiteru of the third world?
*** Oh hes fine, last seen walking with his parents and he got together with his first crush.
*** Minene shows that there can be two of one people in any given world, and Yuno is in another world with another Yuno for about 30 seconds. Even the usual Time 'rules' such as 'The you of this world can never met the you that is a visitor here.' don't apply, since what Yuno did to her 2nd world self is basically the logical opposite of this world. Given that there can be two Yukiteru's, Yukiteru of the 3rd world can have a happy life with Moe Wakaba, but Yuki's parents were the riving force for him to play the game until the end in the first place. Also, our 2nd world Yuki is God now, as well as Yuno. I personally think that since Yuno had her memories transferred into her 3rd world self and prevented her parents abuse and eventual death, Yuki would probably follow suit and either absorb his 3rd world self or make himself the Yukiteru that is with his parents. 3rd world Yuki would then cease to exist. Yuki knows this all to well an he wouldn't kill somebody knowing they can't be brought back, as shown in part by his refusal to stab Yuno. Therefore, to get a happy ending for all, 3rd world Yuki [And Yuno, probably.] must exist as another person. Due to the Mangaka stating in an interview that Yuki and Eiji are 'Closer than you think' to each other, its now a popular theory in japan that the 3rd world Yuki and the 3rd world Yuno were given new identities in order for the Yuki and Yuno we know to be with their parents. Which identities did they assume? Eiji and Rin, also in Japan and the leading protagonists of Esuno Sakae's new series, ''Manga/BigOrder.''
* In the end of the manga, Yuno [[spoiler: syncs her memories with the 3rd world Yuno to reunite with Yukiteru]]. 3rd world Yuno was sane, had lots of friends and actually had a functioning and healthy relationship with her parents. 1st world Yuno took away the healthy relationships, essentially destroying the 3rd Yuno's individual self.
** Not necessarily. It seems like [[spoiler: 3rd-world Yuno got 1st-world Yuno's memories while still maintaining the benefits of her parents not being abusive, thus bypassing her StartOfDarkness from the first world]]. However, she still has [[spoiler: memories of her alternate-timeline self]], who was a [[MurderIsTheBestSolution homicidal]] {{yandere}} [[spoiler: [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds who probably planned on destroying the universe several times over]] [[MadLove just to be with Yuki]]]]. It's still not ideal, but better than [[spoiler: having her original person scooped out in favor of the memories of an [[DoppelgangerReplacementLoveInterest AU clone]]]], but still going to cause a HeroicBSOD, [[spoiler: identity crisis, [[EvilMeScaresMe horror at the person she was in another life]]]], and [[HurtComfortFic lots of cuddling and reassurance on the part of Yuki]]. Or you know, [[FanficFuel a chance for the two of them to work out the looser ends of their relationship]].

Gonna start cleaning this up to remove natter

* Way back in Chapter 1, when Yuno knows that Yuki might stab her with the dart, she seems totally indifferent about that, pins him against a wall, kisses him, and says "You didn't stab me.", as if she knew ahead of time he wouldn't, even though her Diary wouldn't be reliable against Yuki in a fight against him. Of course she would know... [[spoiler:She's been through all this once before and doesn't need her diary to be able to predict Yuki's reaction.]]
* Heck, a lot of Yuno's behavior can be explained keeping this in mind:
** "How can she talk about killing someone so easily?" [[spoiler:It's not exactly like she's new to it.]]
** Yuno suddenly deciding to meditate in Yukiteru's house to find Fifth's diary? She wasn't just trying to put herself in his shoes, [[spoiler: she was trying to remember how he had hidden it before.]]
*** There's another layer to that bit. [[spoiler:It would make sense that she forgot the location since she never planned on going back in time in the first place. She thought she would never have to fight him again and therefore didn't bother to remember where he hid it.]]
** Yuno's surprise at Yukiteru's friends betraying him in Minene's attack on the school? [[spoiler: It was one of the earliest events in her timeline, and it occurred roughly 90 days ago to her. ''You'' try remembering exactly what happened on a specific day three months prior. Not only that, but since this was also her first replay of the game, she had no way of knowing for sure that things would pan out exactly as they had before. And what's more, we have no idea what exactly happened during Minene's school bombing in the 1st world. For all we know, it could be that in the 1st world Yukiteru's schoolmates decided to protect him and not to sacrifice him, and Yuno actually expected that the same thing would happen in the 2nd world.]]
** Her immediate suspicion of Tsubaki's motives? [[spoiler: She knew they had been betrayed before, and tried to persuade Yukiteru.]]
** The only reason why she probably couldn't use [[spoiler:all of her previous knowledge]] to her advantage is because [[spoiler:to maintain the illusion that she was "this world's" Yuno, she couldn't look like she knew too much beyond what information her diary gave her. And since her diary only gave her information about Yukiteru, she could only weakly justify her judgements with "Yuki will be in danger if Yuki does that."]]
*** It should be noted that the above are rendered half-moot by the fact that [[spoiler: when Yuno-1 transmigrates to timeline-2 that most of the series took place in, she and Murmur sealed/erased a bunch of her memories for some vague, half-hinted at reason. She still obviously has flashes of past occurrences (keeping in mind she also willingly erases portions of her memory AFTER that as well), but on the whole she doesn't know most of the events as a 2nd loop in the manner of, say, Higurashi or Umineko because she doesn't have the memories anymore.]]
*** It still seems to be a case that [[spoiler: the first Yuno was changed and affected in some way by the first survival game. The second and third Yunos don't seem anywhere near as violent as the first because they haven't actively killed people. In other words, the 1st Yuno was ConditionedToAcceptHorror, the scars and mental changes made to her by the survival game, along with seeing Yukiteru die and being unable to bring him back, and possibly the fucked up nature of killing and replacing her second self, even if she wiped the memories of the events that brought about those changes.]]

\n* Other characters in Future Diary are associated with mythology as well, in keeping with the theme.
** Yukiteru's mother, Rea Amano, is named for Rhea, a Greek Titan, wife to Cronus and mother to Zeus, the Greek equivalent of Jupiter, who Yukiteru was named for. Rhea is often known as the "mother of gods", and Rea's own son, Yukiteru, became god of the universe. In addition, Rhea is known as a goddess of motherhood, and Rea is mother of the series' main character.
** Yukiteru's father, Kurou Amano, is named for Cronus, a Greek Titan, husband to Rhea and father of Zeus, the Greek equivalent of Jupiter, who Yukiteru was named for. In Greek mythology, Cronus, fearing his godly children would one day overpower him, he devoured them to prevent this. Much as Kurou betrayed his own son for his own benefit. Ironically, Cronus's Roman equivalent, Saturn, was considered a god of wealth and plenty, though one of the main reasons cited for Rea divorcing Kurou was that he was terrible with handling money, leaving him and his family large debts.

* Even without knowing the real color of his eyeball mask, a basic knowledge of super sentai tropes would have been enough to give away who the Twelfth was. Twelfth's biggest desire was to be a hero, and the best hero at that. In most all sentai type media, the biggest hero of them all, and the leader of the squad, is typically the red hero. And since he desires to be the biggest hero of them all, the only viable choice for him would have been to be the red.

** Karyuudo Tsukishima, the true 10th, is named for Diana, Roman goddess of wild animals and hunting. Much as his diary allows for the control of his beloved dogs. In addition, Diana is considered the counterpart of the Greek goddess, Artemis, which is fitting in that his daughter, Hinata, is named for the Greek god of prophecy, Apollo. Hinata was the one who actually used his diary in a confrontation with Yukiteru and Yuno, meaning she was the one who actively used the ability to see the future.
** John Bacchus, the 11th, is named for the Roman god of wine, Bacchus. He is also known as the god of epiphany, and is often considered a 'foreign' god among the pantheon. It was with Bacchus's help that Deus began planning and developing the utilization of cell phones and future diaries for the game, and Bacchus was very much an outsider to the rest of the diary holders due to his special position as a helper of Deus in making the game.
** Yomotsu Hirasaka, the 12th, is named for the Roman god of death, Pluto. Unlike Hades, who was seen as the violent abductor of goddess Persephone and a fearsome ruler of the underworl, Pluto was often worshipped by many and was generally considered a kind and just god. Much as Hirasaka sought to be a hero like he had heard on television, along with the fact that many heroic quests in mythology have taken place in the underworld.

** Tsubaki Kasugano, the 6th, was named for Proserpina, Roman goddess of springtime and flowers. Tsubaki was considered the figurehead of her cult, and being imprisoned in the compound much as her goddess namesake was imprisoned in the underworld. However, one famous moment in Prosperina's mythos was named as the 'Rape of Prosperina', for the time when she was dragged into the underworld by its god, much as Tsubaki's position as the cult's sexual outlet by rape led to her current position after her parents died.
** Marco Ikusaba and Ai Mikami, together the 7th, were named for Mars and Venus, the Roman gods of war and love respectively. In Roman mythology, Mars and Venus were lovers, and in some interpretations were even considered married. Much as Ai and Marco desire to be together by winning the game.
** Kamado Ueshita, the 8th, is named for Vesta, Roman goddess of hearth, home, and family. Ueshita ran an orphanage which housed many young and abandoned children. Either looking to adopt them out to good families or making them a part of her own family.
** Minene Uryuu, the 9th, is named for Minerva, Roman goddess of wisdom and strategic warfare. Minene, having lost her parents to a terrorist attack when she was young to a religious war, turned her back on god and became a terrorist. Being not especially physically strong, most of her attacks rely on traps she set in advance and luring her foes into favorable positions for her, making her largely a strategic fighter. Also, as Minerva is considered one of the three major gods in the Roman pantheon, [[spoiler: Minene also goes on to survive the 2nd world's game and continues to live in the 3rd world with some minor godly powers.]]
