* In the character QNA, William claims that he and Vincent grew up in an orphanage, and were stuck there until they aged out because the orphanage had a policy of adopting siblings together, and nobody wanted to adopt Vincent because he was a problem child. While this tracks with Vicent’s ''original'' characterization, that version of him has now been retconned, and he does ''not'' seem like the problem child type in the slightest. It’s possible William is just an unreliable narrator, but the wiki back this up. So what gives? Vincent is canonically autistic. Autistic children are often deemed problem children when they’re not trying to do anything wrong due to people not understanding their behavior—they’re seen as intentionally rude and misbehaving when they aren’t trying to be, and just naturally act like that.

* FridgeBrilliance: When William dons the alias Dave Miller, he gets a makeover to match. One factor of this makeover is having one ear pierced, specifically his right ear. This might strike fans as odd at first, as a man’s right ear being pierced is meant to signal to others that he’s gay, and William is [[https://twitter.com/blueycapsules/status/1314159290970763266?s=21 confirmed to be the only heterosexual character]].[[note]]the tweet this is in reply to has been deleted, but it was asking if there are any heterosexual characters in the comic. If a screenshot of the original tweet can be found, it will be added. Until then, the replies to this tweet back this up.[[/note]] But when you remember that the one who gave William the makeover was Vincent, who ''is'' gay, that makes a lot more sense.
