* '''Betty is probably dead.'''
** Betty obviously died in the mushroom war as the Ice King's logs started way before the bombs began to fall, meaning that [[spoiler: he is doomed to wander the Earth, still searching for his "princess" forever, because the crown keeps him alive and his madness keeps him from remembering that ''Betty has been dead for over 1,000 years''.]]
** [[spoiler:Jossed. She jumped into a time portal to ''Adventure Time''[='=]s current timeline, created by Simon after a being of AntiMagic temporarly undid the crown's effects.]]
*** That adds a lighter bit of FridgeHorror: [[spoiler:because she was transported over a thousand years into the future, all her loved ones will have to deal with the trauma of her apparent death. Granted it's better than them all dying in the Mushroom War, but still kind of sad.]]
*** Holy crap, adding to that, think back to "Holly Jolly Secrets": [[spoiler: "If I do things that... hurt people, please... Please forgive me..." Simon may have been blamed for Betty's disappearance by her grieving family members, & given he was being driven insane by the crown, there was no way he could be certain of what he was capable of. Coincidentally, this ends up being karmically true when Betty jumps through a time hole for none other than Simon, affecting their past & present simultaneously.]]

** Or that matter, how much of a stretch is it to assume the Rainicorns are ''[[ImAHumanitarian why]]'' [[ImAHumanitarian humans seem to be extinct]]?
*** This would actually explain the cause of the Rainicorn-Dog Wars. Since the dogs would be ''man's best friend''.
*** It also explains why the Mushroom War happened in the first place. If the modern world was invaded by these beings (who clearly '''love''' the taste of human flesh), it wouldn't take much for a government to attempt the "ultimate solution" when it was clear they were going to lose. This potentially explains the intelligent dogs, as they were genetically enhanced to provide extra soldiers. The truly gut-wrenching thought is that even after all these drastic measures, ''the humans still lost.''
** Consider the Rainicorns' abilities. They can change the color of surroundings at will, as Lady demonstrated in "My Two Favorite People", they can phase through objects, and they can hold people in their bodies as they phase. So then, imagine the level of apex predator that Rainicorns must have been. They could hide in any environment, could conceivably disorient their prey by changing their surroundings, and they could grab you and immobilize you before you even knew they were there. They could also take multiple victims at a time, and just hold on to them until they were ready to eat them one at a time.
** Consider also the reaction of Lady's parents when they thought that Finn was "a treat." They stated that Jake was "very generous" to offer Finn as an entree. This seems to indicate that humans are a rare, but '''available''', treat for Rainicorns. ''Are there other humans being kept and bred in the Rainicorn dimension as food?!?''

** Also, thinking about the Tart Toter, notice that the episode cuts to black right after [[spoiler: Finn moves?]] Remember how the Toter can [[spoiler:''FEEL'' movement?]]
** Another thing to remember, what's the candy kingdom doing about it? It seems more interested to sweep him under the rug instead of locking him up to help cure whatever happened to him.
*** On the same note, why isn't LEMONGRAB receiving some kind of mental help for whatever the hell HIS problem is?!
*** PB, upon looking at Lemongrab's brain (and thoughts), decided he was fine, for a Whatever-He-Is. "They're just like that."
** The Royal Tart Toter, along with the other mentally ill candy people, are in the Candy Kingdom Mental Hospital, and they're doing pretty well. Lemongrab, however... we're not really sure. According to the comic, he screams in an empty room during his free time. Wouldn't be a stretch to say he isn't doing too well in the ''show'', either.
** The butterfly with a laser gun wasn't the first person [[spoiler:to steal some tarts]], the (generally harmless) hobos [[spoiler:stole some first. [[AndIMustScream Somewhere out there in the desert, are three paralyzed hobos]]]].
*** That's okay they'll eventually [[spoiler: starve to death]].

** Then whatever happened to Root Beer Guy must have been so horrible we never even saw it onscreen-- just his broken glass and a puddle of soda (guts? blood?) on the ground.

** On this subject, at the end of "Mortal Recoil," [[spoiler: Princess Bubblegum appears to ''act'' younger to go along with her literally becoming younger. Is she still the same person? Has she lost her memory of most if not all of her life after age thirteen, or even earlier?]]
*** She probably is the same person, just more...hormone-y. After all, she recognized Finn as a hero...
*** Pretty much everyone recognizes Finn as a hero.
*** True, but so far it's really just implied [[spoiler: she's become younger physically.]] It never really gave any indication if [[spoiler: she has lost memory or anything like that.]] Or if what your saying is true, at least it hasn't shown this yet.
** Also on the subject of the Lich... He was imprisoned above Princess Bubblegum's castle all this time? Just imagine if the ''candy people'' found out... ''[[StuffBlowingUp Explosions everywhere]].''

** I had not only that thought, but the thought that the ice cream pod could also be evil, in a fashion. It's shown leaking melted ice cream out of the pod, meaning that the ice cream doesn't just sit there inside until it gets eaten, it oozes out, and then presumably regenerates inside the pod. If no one ate the ice cream (doesn't seem likely in the context it was opened, but what if it opened in a world where everyone was lactose intolerant?), it would drip out infinitely until the entire world drowned in the stuff. Plus, it kills pigs. It seemed to me that none of the things in the pods were inherently good or evil; the pigs are fine until they use the wands unsupervised, the wands are fine if their powers are used responsibly, and the ice cream is fine unless no one eats it (or kills it at the source by chopping the plant down).
** It is very likely the pod with the wands was the evil one. Why? Because the pig pod and the ice cream pod look like healthy, green bean sprouts. The bean sprout containing the wands ''is a sickly yellow color and covered in barbs.''
* It's often overlooked in ''Mortal Folly'' (probably overshadowed by all of the ''other'' horror in the episode) that on the other side of the ocean there's [[spoiler:the post-apocalyptic remains of civilization]], which brings up the question of [[spoiler:why the lich's lair was there]] and might bring up some more ideas to explain Finn's fear of the ocean...
** It wasn't the ocean, it was Iceberg Lake, which is why Finn's ocean phobia never came up.

** If one pays attention to the wounds on the gladiator ghosts [[spoiler: and the weapons that they wield, one can quickly determine the gladiator pairs that killed each other with.]]
** The horror gets worse when you realize [[spoiler:they were more than friends - they were ''lovers'' who were forced to kill each other.]] WordOfGod has confirmed as much.

much. In the initial battle, one of them shouts out "Hyperion! [[spoiler: My love!"]]

** Here's the horror for you: if this is the case, it's the ''crown'' that disturbs his sleep. It's a semi-sentient magical artifact that caused Simon's madness. Also a possibility that his lack of rest may have contributed to his madness.

** I always thought that Gunther is a different penguin each time or the Ice King loves the name Gunther.
*** This was proven in Holly Jolly Secrets when Ice King refers to two penguins as Gunter in the same video. So you can have the evil Gunter, the pregnant Gunter, and the bottle breaking Gunter. But then this brings up issues in Reign of the Gunters, since the single one shows traits of all three: being evil enough to conquer Ooo, having a relationship with the cat, and then being attracted to breaking bottles.

** One thing I noticed is that [[spoiler: when it is revealed that the episode is a fanfic the Ice King wrote, even though he has the characters heap praises and adoration on him, he still had his gender flipped insert character lose. He wrote Ice Queen to be more competent and evil than him, but she still fails to get Prince Gumball. Does anyone else think that this is a sad reflection on how Ice King views himself?]]
*** [[TheWoobie Man, poor Ice King...]]
** The bag of catnip given to Cake by Prince Gumball, who turned out to be the Ice Queen... what was ''really'' in it? Could the Ice Queen have tried to poison Cake? And since Cake didn't necessarily ever find out that it was really the Ice Queen that gave it to her, she may have even used it!
*** According to the wiki Cake was originally raised by the Ice Queen, so it stands to reason [[PetTheDog she might not actually want to kill her]], [[GRatedDrug just get her out of the way.]]
*** Or it could just be something to gain Cake's trust.
** After the fight with the Ice Queen, Cake busts in, and immediately tries to attack Prince Gumball in a rage. Why? Well... they're in the bedroom, Fiona's dress was ripped from the waist down, and Cake heard Fionna screaming "Get off me!" before she came in. Cake thought that the Prince was trying to force himself on her!

** In "Guardians of Sunshine", Finn and Jake get ''inside'' Beemo. One can't help but wonder if Beemo felt violated afterwards, especially after they literally tear a hole breaking out of him.
*** Another question would be how those monsters in the game got in there? Does this mean when people play videogames they're playing with prisoners of a video game prison?
*** WesternAnimation/WreckItRalph, anyone?
* There was a lot of this in the episode "New Frontier". What if Jake actually did kill himself in that episode? Imagine what Finn would do if Jake ever died...
** Especially because Finn considers himself to be related to Jake, so the impact on Finn would be like losing every friend he'd ever had.
*** [[WhatTheHellHero Which makes Jake kind of a dick for attempting it just because of "destiny."]]

** Why he obsesses over girls with "Princess" in their name? [[spoiler: That's the only remnant of his memory of his fiancé, Betty. He called her his '''''princess'''''...]]

*** [[spoiler:Wouldn't this mean that deep down, waaay deep down, the Ice King knows he's crazy and he's asking his help? It's like he's imprisoned inside his own mind...]]
** One has to wonder what other horrifying events caused things in Ooo to be the way they are. Besides the whole nuclear holocaust thing, anything weird and quirky could be a horrifying Deconstruction in disguise.
** The episode "When Wedding Bells Thaw" has a helpless princess trapped by an ice based object with the real person screaming for help in her mind. HarsherInHindsight does not begin to describe it.
** In the final video diary, [[spoiler:Simon is almost at full Ice King appearance and he is tearfully telling whomever finds the tapes to watch over him to make sure he doesn't hurt anyone. Did he realize how far gone he was at that point or did he hurt someone very badly, even killed them]]?

** Considering Jake has [[spoiler:already put the Ice King's crown on his head, on multiple occasions,]] could he eventually [[spoiler:become like the Ice King as well]]?
*** It's implied in "Holly Jolly Secrets" and somewhat in "Finn the Human/Jake the Dog" that the crown works out of an impulse to protect its wearer. Seeing as Simon is still alive, the crown might not get too attached to Jake.

** [[StalkerWithACrush Stalker with a crush, maybe?]]
** It's an old-fashioned thing, in ''Literature/TheLordOfTheRings'' Gimli is awed by the Lady Galadriel's beauty and asks for a lock of her hair. Shows up in the movie too.
*** It was also a thing in Victorian times to keep a lock of someone you cared about's hair.
** He probably just kept some from that time he had to get it to save Jake from the wood witch and she didn't want ti because it was gum.
** It was a memento from the closest thing he ever had to a date with Bubblegum?
* When it was stated that after the war all the magic on earth returned, that must mean that humans were the reason it couldn't exist.
** Not necessarily; there's plenty of evidence that humans continued on in some form after the war, and after magic's return, most notably Finn's existence itself. Since it's suggested that Lady Rainicorn's parents were around in a time when humans were plentiful [[spoiler: and may have subsequently been hunted to near-extinction by rainicorns]], and we can safely say rainicorns are magic, it might have been something else. WMG here, but this troper's theory is that Marceline's dad has something to do with it.
*** Also, some magical artifacts (such as the Ice King's crown and the Enchiridion) seem to have been around LONG before the war. It's also safe to say that Marceline's dad and the Nightosphere are not new, and Marceline herself seems to have had a human mother.
*** Pretty much all of this is Confirmed in "Stakes".

* Here's one involving, once again, the Lich, possibly also involving WhatCouldHaveBeen. Wrap you head around this: as we know, the Lich was originally called the Lich ''King'' (changed because of a villain from VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft with the same name). As we also know, throughout the series, we've met a series of royalty who each rule over their own land and people. Bubblegum Princess has the Candy Kingdom (all of the people are sweets/pastries and the main city is one big gingerbread castle), the Ice King has the Ice Kingdom (a large frozen tundra), Lumpy Space Princess (lives in Lumpy Space), Hotdog Princess is ruler of the hotdog people, Wildberry Princess has Wildberry Kingdom, Duke of Nuts with the Duchy of Nuts, Fight King has the Fight Arena, etc., etc.. With this in mind, I can only ask this: does/did the Lich King have his ''own kingdom''? And if he does, ''is it occupied by the undead or Liches''?
** This is possibly what he was trying to achieve by killing everything in Ooo.
** The Lich King might be the King of the Humans returned from the dead.
*** It seems that he is, in fact, [[spoiler: a human who was mutated by the Mushroom Bomb.]]
*** What about [[http://www.downvids.net/video/bestimages/img-adventure-time-episode-105-finn-the-human-430.jpg these things]] following him from "Finn the Human" (in Marcy's story sure), but maybe they would be the beings serving in his kingdom. They actually look like [[spoiler: Maja's crabbit familiar]].
* From the recent two-parter Nightosphere special. First of all, the horrible condition the horrible, literally hellish condition the demons live in.
** Secondly, the two major cases of FateWorseThanDeath- the demon who was forced to continuously vomit bananas forever (especially considering that, for demons, bananas are basically excrement), and the demon whose head was transformed into abs.
*** Third, the implications that Hunson's father is an even worse person than Hunson.
** The demons you see are drawn in a different style than most of the characters, notably the wide, almond eyes with dull pupils and their lemon-shaped heads. Who else is drawn in this style?
*** Lemongrab was on vacation in the Nightosphere. The agonized screams make him feel more at home. He was white because he slathered his naked self in sunscreen, to avoid having his butt set on fire.
** I think you're forgetting the realisation that Hunson has been raised for ''over a millennium'' by an amulet of pure ChaoticEvil. Such evil is so virulent it can even corrupt '''[[AllLovingHero Finn.]]''' Given that the Nightosphere is basically ''Hell'', it would stand to reason that the amulet is '''SATAN HIMSELF.'''
** If Bananas are the equivalent of [[spoiler:demonic feces,]] that means that a portal to the nightosphere has been or was at some point open millenia ago. For thousands of years, humans have been ingesting [[spoiler:demon dung.]]
*** This raises some disturbing questions about the Candy Kingdom's Banana Guards.

** Imagine suddenly waking up in a dark, creepy room- having no idea who or where you are or what is going on, and trying to run away or call for help, only to be rendered immobile and unable to communicate in any way but screaming hideously. Then imagine learning a little about your situation- learning that you're a failed experiment that your own creator doesn't even want or like. THEN imagine what it must be like to be totally unable to read social cues, talk normally, or express yourself in a way that doesn't cause people to be put off by you, leading to an extremely isolated, friendless life. Also, add onto that having no family, and no people who care about you. THIS is Lemongrab's whole life. Holy ''shit.''
*** Which, really, is basically the plot of Frankenstein.
** Also, as previously noted under the Nightosphere entry, Lemongrab is drawn in the same slightly different style as the demons. In fact, one of the demons seen near the beginning of that episode outside of Finn and Jake's cell looks eerily similar to Lemongrab.
*** That ain't creepy. Many characters drawn by Jesse Moynihan and Tom Herpich have very similar Lemongrab-ish characteristics, especially those eyes. But yeah. I had to rewind that Nightosphere episode when I thought I saw what appeared to be Lemongrab's albino twin. Weird...
*** Perhaps LG takes his naked vacations in the Nightosphere, and likes walking around naked, covered in sunscreen (hence why he was white?)
* Goliad is no longer heir to the throne, seeing as how she is physically unable to rule. If PB dies... that means ''Lemongrab'' will inherit the throne. *shudder* Imagine "Too Young", on a much more epic scale; only imagine Lemongrab after he's been informed that his creator (who has been implied to be his mom, and therefore the only family he has) has passed away. Take a guy who's emotionally unstable already, then kill his mom, and make him the ruler of a kingdom he DESPISES. Yup- the candy people are doomed.
** It's an even more disturbing realization after the events of "Too Old". Imagine how oppressive life in the Candy Kingdom would be with a sadistic, cannibalistic murderer on the throne.
*** PB is already cannibalistic although certainly not as much as lemongrab.

''
* Goliad is no longer heir to the throne, seeing as how she is physically unable to rule. If PB dies... that means ''Lemongrab'' will inherit the throne. *shudder* Imagine "Too Young", on a much more epic scale; only imagine Lemongrab after he's been informed that his creator (who has been implied to be his mom, and therefore the only family he has) has passed away. Take a guy who's emotionally unstable already, then kill his mom, and make him the ruler of a kingdom he DESPISES. Yup- the candy people are doomed.
**
doomed. It's an even more disturbing realization after the events of "Too Old". Imagine how oppressive life in the Candy Kingdom would be with a sadistic, cannibalistic murderer on the throne.
*** PB is already cannibalistic although certainly not as much as lemongrab.
throne.

** You can weep beautiful tears of joy now. The Candy Kingdom has a mental hospital. The Tart Toter is there. The mentally ill candy people are getting the help they need. But... yeah. The Ice King and Lemongrab? Not much hope for them...
*** The Ice King really ''can't'' be helped, because the the thing causing his insanity ([[ArtifactOfDoom his Crown]]) is also the thing keeping him alive. As for Lemongrab, well, PB did make him a clone so he'd have a companion who understands him.
*** It has a mental hospital, but they've never heard of restraint minimization. People seem to be kept in straitjackets as a matter of course, HollywoodDressCode for "mental patient".
*** Well, this is ''[[{{Cloudcuckooland}} Ooo]]'' after all - one imagines that if even ''they'' [[EveryoneHasStandards consider someone mentally ill]], that person would probably ''need'' restraints pretty badly.
*** However, there do ''not'' appear to be many [[SocialServicesDoesNotExist child services]] in Ooo. When you think about it, it's a little disturbing that everyone is perfectly okay with a young boy (12 at the start of the series, and implied to have been doing this much longer) regularly risking his life ([[FateWorseThanDeath and worse]]), recieving no education, and living with no supervision or protection, except for his slightly-older brother. Even [[LawfulGood PB]] is okay with it - shouldn't it be her job to ensure that he gets some semblence of a normal childhood? I mean, he can barely even ''spell''.
*** In the original short Jake says he's 28. Remember, dogs mature faster. Granted, that's still a little young to be taking care of your baby brother.
*** Of course, their parents would have died when Jake was much younger, so the fridge horror still applies.

** Also remember that PB was going on several days of no sleep, so her judgement was...not exactly sound.
** Plus, bear in mind that Lemongrab came first. Bubblegum may have given Goliad better treatment because of how her treatment of Lemongrab turned out.

** There'll probably be some sort of PlotArmor for Jake. Either that or the creator will be smart enough to pull the plug before SeasonalRot has the chance to occur.
*** Then again, he may have been a child, not a baby. So he'd still be aging a bit faster than Finn, but not enough to really matter.
*** Keep in mind that we're talking about a talking, thinking, bipedal, fully anthropomorphic dog here (and yes, his whole species is like this). His biology is probably quite different from the dogs we know, even without his powers.
*** I always thought that the main reason Jake's dad assumed he needed to build a dungeon to toughen up Finn was that he never realized that humans age slower than dogs, so he assumed Finn and Jake were about the same age and Finn was just... weaker. Of course, this would mean that Jake really does age faster.
*** [[FridgeBrilliance It's been shown that other animals who are genetically compatible with dogs, such as rainicorns, mature very quickly and then age slowly for the rest of their lives.]] Presumably, this is what was going on.

** Possible indeed, given that [[PowerPerversionPotential he can freeze anything in place]].
** Well there have been other heroes in Ooo before Finn (i. e. Billy) who were probably thwarting him.
** And he doesn't seem to be interested in sex, so much as he is desperate for companionship. If a princess told him she didn't want to to, it's unlikely he would force her - remember in how sweet and considerate he was to Princess Monster Wife?
** Given his "mating" comment to NEPTR, it's indeed possible that the Ice King is in fact a rapist.
** It seems like Marceline, at least, would probably hold him back if he ever did go that far. Fortunately, he doesn't seem to be THAT crazy just yet...but that raises the fridge horror of what would happen if his SanitySlippage continued until he WAS willing to rape a woman, and no one was around to stop him.
*** Except that Marceline is a vampire, which is basically a walking literary metaphor for rape to begin with, and is repeatedly shown to not particularly care about anything that doesn't directly interfere with her or a personal friend (thus being "cool"). Her being the moral anchor adds to the fridge horror more than it subtracts from it.
*** And there's a good chance that ''he wouldn't even know he's doing it.''

** This is unlikely, as Lemongrab is [[spoiler:THE EARL OF NOTHING! Castle Lemongrab has no citizens.]]
*** [[spoiler: This doesn't preclude the possibility that it used to have citizens.]]
** Well this was a prediction that came uncomfortably close to being true.
* [[spoiler:Ricardio grabs the unconscious Lady Rainicorn and ties her in a knot. At the end of the episode Lady reveals that she is pregnant. [[AdultFear Just think what could have happened to the babies...]]]]
** PB's horrified shriek makes it even worse...
** Which makes PB's reaction, going ''batshit insane'' and beating Ricardio to a pulp, to the point where the Ice King ''needed a new heart'', a little more able to be justified. She knew Lady was [[spoiler:preggers]] because at the end PB says she saw it on her heart monitor.
*** But she couldn't have seen it on the heart monitor until after they all returned to the candy kingdom. PB's violent reaction wasn't a result of seeing a [[spoiler: pregnant woman]] put in danger, it was her ''friend'', [[note]]who is not a fighter despite being able to normally hold her own and was only with PB because she was scared for her boyfriend[[/note]] being put in danger. PB explicitly says before the reveal that "she didn't know" and if she had she never would have exposed Lady to a potentially dangerous situation.
*** Actually, if you look carefully at the heart monitor as they go deeper into the caves, [[spoiler: you can see a large dot with ''five'' smaller dots next to it]], however I don't think PB realized the implications of that until later. Still, "she didn't know" about Lady until PB used the heart monitor, which is long after taking Lady with her on the mission to the ice caves.
** Some theorize that this moment is why [[http://media.tumblr.com/64b574bae23922870a009cc56c363adc/tumblr_inline_mmt183rLfY1qksxpg.png Jake Jr.]] [[spoiler: doesn't have a face, and her horn is on the wrong side of her body.]]

Princess Bubblegum explained that he is a failed experiment- therefore, more than a little mentally unstable. However, the title card of "You Made Me!" depicts the scene of Princess Bubblegum bringing Lemongrab to life as a creepy Frankenstein-esque scene. The title cards are not usually canonically what happened in the show- they usually come from a character's imagination. But was the ''real'' reason newborn Lemongrab freaked out not because he was [[TheMentallyDisturbed crazy]], but because what he saw AROUND him (mad scientist, weird machines, dark room, etc.) was disturbing to him? Could the title card of "You Made Me!" be Lemongrab's disturbing perception of what happened when he was "born," and therefore, why he was so frightened when the princess brought him to life?
** It's implied that the Title-Card shows Princess Bubblegum creating Lemongrab's clone.

** Jesse Moynihan said that Lemongrab has good intentions, but is EXTREMELY misguided and... stupid. Lemongrab probably thought it was a great idea to rehabilitate ner-do-wells in his earldom in this manner. He said "MY reconditioning chamber," implying that he either designed it or built it himself. Princess Bubblegum probably wouldn't entrust the stupid bastard with a torture device, and I don't know about anyone who would willingly consent to building one for such a person.
*** Or he could have meant "my chamber" as in "the one used on me".

*** Similarly, what would ''Ice King'' be like if they hadn't met? Without Marceline, Simon (who had lost pretty much everything by that point) would have no reason to fight the Crown and no personal mission to give him the strength to do so. So it's likely that not only would he have succumbed to the Crown much faster, but by the time the series takes place the Crown would have succeeded in completely dominating his mind. That means that the Ice King would have pretty much no humanity or empathy in him ''at all''. You think canon!Ice King is a sociopath? This version would be a million times worse.

** Actually, someone on Website/{{Tumblr}} pointed out that Hambo still retained much of his redness, whereas the things Marceline actually drinks the red out of turns straight gray. Which leads to the implication that she may have starved because she ''refused'' to drink from Hambo...
** Actually, ''actually'', she wasn't a vampire back then. Just a demon.
*** Well, [[OverlyLongGag actually actually actually]], more like half-demon, otherwise she would be subject to the same magical rules as her father, who's pretty much Satan.

** [[spoiler: Also remember, Marceline has begun to reconcile with Ice King. She wouldn't need to place as much value on Hambo anymore if she has Simon himself. Bubblegum and Marceline? Not so much.]]
*** Also, PB being willing to give the shirt up says something about her when thought about in the context of her obsession with being a logical ruler: the shirt was a source of emotion for her, and she wanted to purge herself of such things. Helping Marceline may have been part of it, but it also may have just been an excuse to do what she's believed needed to be done for a long time.

Original Jake sleeps, recreating Original Prismo from his memories which allows Original Prismo to facilitate the plan. Then Original Finn wakes him up, and allows Loop Jake to take his place. Then, Original Finn paradoxes Loop Finn to break the loop, leaving Loop Jake as the sleeper. Loop Jake then morphs into Prismo's physical body. However, this Prismo is the original Prismo. *** Because all his stuff is there. And Prismo calls him [[spoiler: "a ghost wearing a dead guy"]], so...yeah.
*** I think we're all forgetting someone - what in the ''hell'' happened to Billy's lady? Yes, what happened to him was horrible, but he at least had a chance of fighting back. She, as far as we know, was just a regular old lady (well, as regular as one ''can'' be in [[{{Cloudcuckooland}} Ooo]]), and she was in the dream too. What if she ''also'' went over to check on Billy? The only reason he didn't kill Finn and Jake is that he needed them for his plan, and since she would be unable to defend herself...
*** In the dream, the last we see of her was [[spoiler:in the bear's mouth.]] So yeah...

** And Marceline looked about FIVE at the time.
*** Since you need a portal to get between the Nightosphere and our world, it's very likely that he COULDN'T help Marceline. Not sure if this makes it worse or better, since if it's true, he either [[AdultFear had to helplessly watch his daughter suffer, knowing she would probably resent him for it later]], or [[NothingIsScarier simply had no idea at all what had happened to her.]]
*** "Return to the Nightosphere" shows an apparently permanent portal (it has its own room after all) in the Abbadeer house. Another theory is he just left Marcy's mom before Marcy was born and simply never knew about her. Maybe he didn't even know about the war.
*** Perhaps he didn't care, or worse, maybe that was the point. He wanted her to be traumatized and surrounded by unending horror, death, fear, pain and evil. Kind of like preschool to the nightosphere, preparing her to, as he evidently wished later on chronologically, to take his place as head evil overlord of the series' hell so he could retire. Marceline's dad is a colossal dick.

** Additionally in the fries memory, Marceline is shown fixing Hambo's eye with her last piece of string while saying "I'm only hurting you because I love you," which is a pretty heavy sentiment for a girl that age to express. Considering the notes left for her in "I Remember You" and the revelation that [[spoiler: Simon]] gave her Hambo, it might be possible that she's just repeating what [[spoiler: Simon]] [[TearJerker said when he had to abandon her]].

** For what it's worth, the Ice Queen's original creator, Natasha Allegri, claims that she got her tiara in a different way than the Ice King got his crown; it's possible this includes it working differently.
*** Given how the Ice Queen is much more evil and rational than Ice King, perhaps she's what might have happened if [[spoiler:Simon or someone like him]] wore the crown ''willingly.''

** Jake's parents are [[WordofGod confirmed to be dead]]. So yeah.
*** Also, what happened to Finn's ''biological'' parents? The only real thing we know about his origins is that he was abandoned on a mountainside, where he very likely would have starved to death, died of exposure, or been eaten, had Jake's parents not found him. So, if his parents are alive, what kind of people are they? If they aren't, what happened to them?

I don't think it was so much that Simon was more heroic than Finn (He was pretty damn heroic regardless), its just that the Crown decided it wanted to destroy everything now, and just forced Finn harder than it had forced Simon. That, and Simon had much more time to come to terms with the Crown's power.]]
*** This Troper doesn't see it as "more heroic" so much as "saner." From what little we see of him, Simon was a scholar and basically a reasonable guy. [[spoiler:Finn]], [[HotBlooded on]] [[IdiotHero the]] [[{{Keet}} other]] [[LargeHam hand]]...
*** Doesn't it seem more likely that [[spoiler:Finn]] lost his sanity right away in comparison to Simon, who had been fighting against the crown and it's power every step of the way, because he accepted the power and everything that came with it to [[spoiler:[[HeroicSacrifice protect his family from the Destiny gang]]]]?
**
* Another simpler and more subtle bit of FridgeHorror is the fact that Alt!Finn's right arm is a prosthetic replacement. And we see that his family--and town, for that matter--seems to be the personal [[RapePillageAndBurn oppression target]] of the Destiny Gang. It doesn't take much to put two and two together.

** Even worse, what if he's like Simon Petrikov - a good person, trapped in his own mind by an outside power? What if he's ''aware'' of the terrible things he's been forced to do over the past thousand years?
*** If it's any consolation, now that [[spoiler: the Lich has a new body, the original person has finally been allowed to die.]]

** [[WildMassGuessing Actually, Choose Goose always struck me as a muppet-esque creature.]] [[spoiler:Maybe the bomb took his spirit and his spirit inhabited a children's puppet. It could be horrible or good, depending who you ask.]]

** Or maybe Prismo decided to be nice and reverse time while making sure Jake remembers him.
*** [[spoiler:The episode "Crossover" shows that yes, Farmworld Finn still exists in that alternate world.]]

** Also, imagine what it would be like to find out that all your relationships, your entire ''universe'', were just games played by an alternate version of you.
*** In other words, ''VideoGame/TheSims''.

** Makes even more sense when you consider that [[spoiler: Lady has no idea what to expect to give birth to, because if there has ever been another union between a dog and rainicorn (who are mortal enemies) information about it would be scarce.]] No wonder she's so scared when she tells Jake.

** That lady he was really sad over? And was implied by Abraham Lincoln/King of Mars that he '''went''' insane. So yeah, it may be implying that it is the skull of the person Magic Man loved.
*** The problem isn't that there's a skull, it's that the worms crawling in it imply that it is decaying, and therefore relatively fresh. Since Magic Man has been on Ooo for centuries, it couldn't be Margles.
* One of Jake's pups has a deformed face. Could that be because of Ricardio tying Lady in a knot in "Lady & Peebles"?
** According to staff, no, she just doesn't have a face. The joke was originally "what if we reversed her butt and face?" and people took the darkest interpretation.
*** Alternatively, its a consequence of hybridization between a magic dog and rainbow unicorn.
*** Another alternative: [[spoiler:Jake is half...[[EldritchAbomination ''something,'']] which [[MisterSeahorse impregnated his father]]. Maybe the traits of his "grandma" skip generations.]]

** The aging probably levels off after a while, or Lady would have aged and died in the span of the series. Still, it's a little sad that Jake barely even gets to be a father to his pups before they're old enough to leave him.

** Jake or some other hero probably did it.
** The land of Ooo is made up of many kingdoms and it is not defenseless without Finn and Jake, maybe Ice King took a couple weeks off?

** There is also the fact, that he was perfectly willing to EAT the Ice King. Okay, granted Lemongrab most likely didn't know that eating people is wrong, which just makes it worse....
** He's the only one made out of ''candy''. [[IAmAHumanitarian Meat is still food.]] He ordered the Ice King to 'convert himself to food', probably expecting something like what Lemonjon did.

** Or, alternatively and possibly even worse, [[spoiler: Simon]] did something [[spoiler: while under the influence of the Crown]] that ''would actually merit that''.
*** That, or [[WorldWar3 the Mushroom War]] happened and [[TearJerker killed her before she could reconcile.]]
*** ''SHE NEVER LEFT HIM.'' [[spoiler:Simon]] is forever under the delusion that she did, even though [[TearJerker Betty has been trying to reach her until her death.]]
** [[spoiler: It turns out she ''didn't'' leave him. He pulled her into the future (present?) to say goodbye and she's now looking for a way to free him from the curse.]]

** He'll be fine. Bacteria tend not to do well in lemon juice.
** Also, it's not like he does this every time; he only did that because he was hungry and was in a scary place.
** More fridge horror about that scene. At this point in the show, Lemongrab had a life partner and children. What kinds of diseases did he expose his boyfriend and children to?
*** Lemongrab 2 is his brother, not boyfriend. They didn't have any form of sexual interaction either, remember? In "All Your Fault", they create their children using PB's formula.
*** They call each other brother but they're actually clones, and who knows [[HoYay what kind of relationship]] they have after the way the [[LesYay Lady Lemongrabs act]] in the gender bent universe.

** On a similar note, Marceline's genderbent representation of herself says that being a half-demon vampire means that he's evil. What does that say about Marceline's view of herself?
*** She views herself as a {{Troll}}?
*** She appears to have a lot of self-loathing and survivor's guilt. Her mother died when she was a child, her father abandoned her, her adoptive father sacrificed his sanity and identity to save her, and she became a vampire. Keep in mind that Red Starved probably isn't the first time she's been starving in the past thousand years, and Bubblegum probably wasn't there every time. When she sings to Bubblegum about not even being human and just her problem, she's probably projecting.

** What happens to Candy People when they become [[MadeOfExplodium scared or excitable?]]
** Also, other candy people seem to have no problem eating Lemonjon's remains, meaning that Finn and Jake could be unknowingly eating the bodies of candy suicides everytime they eat "regular" candy.
*** It seems that the Candy People are much more in touch with their origins, and more accepting of them, than non-edible folk. Sort of like how Mufasa calmly said "We eat the antelope, but when we die, we become the grass, and the antelope eat the grass." It isn't so much cannibalism as it is "the circle of life." Still, it's really unsettling that the Lemongrabs and the Lemon Children were forced to eat their son and brother in order to survive. e
** We know they don't totally disintegrate into parts (at least right away) as seen in "Slumber Party Panic" when the dead still have bodies that turn into zombies. Possibly Lemon's are different or the Lemongrabs don't really know what they're doing and have slightly more unstable creations (there is more evidence for this from how deformed some of them are).

candy.

** Since he eats white Lemongrab later on it would appear he's just a monster who hoards food.
** I think you're giving too much credit to a guy who would bring his rations to life and then blame the supplier for his food shortage. [[HanlonsRazor He's far too stupid and irrational to think on the level of selfishness]].
** He was also panicking at the time. Furthermore, do you really think he would have been able to haul that huge rat through the rest of the dungeon and then all the way home? Never mind it being heavy, that doesn't seem to be too much of a problem for [[SuperStrength Lemongrab]], he just would have dropped it or something.
** And let's not forget that from what we saw so far, it's possible that candy people only eat candy, so either that's all they can eat or he simply didn't know that meat is food.
*** Let's also not forget it was his BROTHER. Brother. I don't know why people keep trying to jam the homosexuality in, but these two in particular are *related*.
*** 1. Because people love to ship 2. Because they have children together 3. Because Lady Lemongrabs look pretty darn sexual with each other
* Plop-Top was shoved off of a table and landed on the floor. The floor looked pretty hard. Does the poor little thing have brain damage?
** Let's face it, he's a Lemon. Hurting his brain would probably be an improvement.

** Although one could make a good case for that episode being non-canon, so it probably won't come up again.
*** Even if we're going by the case that this episode is non-canon(given it's an April Fools joke, it probably is), the Ice King was ''completely in-character.'' Either he's gone even crazier or [[ObliviouslyEvil doesn't get how "tearing apart the universe for your love" is A VERY BAD THING.]] Let's hope the Ice King never gets this power in the main series.

** Let me tell you a little story about something that occurred many years ago known as the [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou Ice age]].
*** In Evergreen, it's shown that the titular character made the crown, and its original purpose was to grant the greatest desires of the person who wears it. Unfortulately, it was put into the hands of a rather immature dinosaur named Gunther, who idolized Evergreen. Thus, his true greatest desire was to be Evergreen. He gets his wish, at the expense of a meteor blasting a huge hole in the planet. Gunther displays the symptoms of the crown's corruption (drop in body temperature, blue skin, beard, fangs, insanity). When the meteor hit, Gunther was obliterated. Just like with [[spoiler:Simon in the alternate timeline,]] it's likely that the crown mourned Gunther's demise, and caused the ice age we all know of today. Ice King must have undergone the same transformation because Gunther's spirit might still be trapped in the crown.

** To be fair, he'd been there for years when he started said family and thought he would never be able to leave. Not to mention that the whole thing may have been a dream.
** Another bit of FridgeHorror from that episode: the ending leaves it ambiguous whether the Pillow Land (and Finn's life there) was actually a dream or not. If it wasn't, Finn now has a family in another world that he will never see again and cannot remember.
* Every time Finn is shown in the future, or an alternate version of him is shown, he has an artificial right arm. Given this show's fondness for ContinuityPorn....[[AnArmAndALeg what, exactly, could this be leading up to?]]
** And now Finn has a grass sword that turns into a band ''around his right arm''. The sword's cursed, too, and Finn even has a dream about it turning him into grass. RedHerring or...?
** [[spoiler: This is pretty much confirmed as of "Escape from the Citadel". Finn lost his arm and seemingly the sword along with it after it turned into a giant arm when he was trying to catch up to his father.]]

* From Prismo's dialog, other people have been in the Time Room before, and attempted to make wishes. So...given the horrible fallout that resulted from Finn's wish, what happened to ''them'', and what effects did their wish have on the universe?
** Also, ''how did they get in there''? Are there ''more'' artifacts as powerful as the Enchiridion? And what would happen if someone like the Lich found out about them?
*** Given that there are alternate realities, they might have gotten in there ''with'' the Enchiridion.
*** And then there's the fact that there would've been alternate Liches who got there without any trouble, meaning that all life has gone extinct ''multiple times.'' The only reason why life still exists is because the ironic twist would prevent it from staying extinct.
*** Without alternate timelines, they're in a room outside of time, so concepts like past, present and future mean little there as everything happens at the same time while simultaneously happening in different time periods but not necessarily in the proper order. In other words, it's possible that other people came to Prismo's room before Finn and Jake but from a point in time that happens after Finn and Jake leaving Ooo.

* "Princess Potluck": ICE KING! WHAT DID YOU DO TO THOSE POOR LITTLE BUNNIES?!
** Given that he called fed them "la-sag-na" and called them "party poopers", it's safe to think the bag just filled up with rabbit poo, which is admittedly crazy nasty but not all that terrible in the long term. They probably just needed baths.

** Considering the fact that he's suicidal, wondering how he finds the will to get up in the morning and be alive over the relatively minor flaw of his shrill, awkward teenaged voice is [[DudeNotFunny a bit tasteless]].

to:

** * Considering the fact that he's suicidal, wondering how he finds the will to get up in the morning and be alive over the relatively minor flaw of his shrill, awkward teenaged voice is [[DudeNotFunny a bit tasteless]].

** This is even worse in combination with Lemongrab's anguised cry of "ONLY ONE!" after Lemon-Sweets breaks, implying that something happened to the rest of their kids. Given how poorly thrown together some of them were, and how inept the Lemongrabs are as caregivers, it's possible their kids may have died of terminal defects or been taken away from them.
*** Later shown that they all live but are being abused and purposely (this time) starved to death by black Lemongrab.

** Explained by "Too Old." Lemongrab turned into a grossly abusive father, literally torturing and insulting his children in a manner [[FridgeHorror disturbingly]] [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything reminiscent]] of how Princess Bubblegum treated him in the past. Lemongrab 2 is a loving father, but has turned into something of an ExtremeDoormat due to how grossly violent his brother has become. As a result of this, almost everyone is very hungry and physically in pain, and there is little Lemongrab 2 can do to protect his kids, even though he tries.

** That really never stopped any shippers before.
*** Not even on this page.
*** The Lemongrabs have a very strange relationship. They're technically clones, refer to each other as brothers, and went on to have dozens upon dozens of children together.
* In Another Five Short Graybles, the last time we see the Lemongrabs, [[spoiler: Lemongrab 1 is eating Lemongrab 2. Did Lemongrab 2 die?]]
** In "Too Old" Lemongrab 2 is [[spoiler: revealed to be alive, but]] his [[spoiler: legs are gone, half of his head is gone, he moves around via a levitating hoverdisc, and he looks very thin and emaciated. To get things worse, he is eaten alive at the end of the episode]].

** More than likely, her rate of aging will plateau out at this point and it's just that rainicorns have a very short infancy period. Otherwise, LR wouldn't be alive right now, much less her parents.

* In "Candy Streets", Finn and Jake lock up Pete Sassafras, because [[{{Long Story}} they thought]] [[{{It Makes Sense In Context}} he stole something from LSP]]. It turns out he didn't. Did Finn and Jake remember to let him out?
*** If they didn't, he's probably out now since the banana guards misunderstood PB's demand to "let them all out." However, this begs an all new brand of fridge horror when you wonder what all the escaped felons are doing in the Candy Kingdom.
* In ''The Party's Over, Isla de Senorita,'' Ice King sneaks into the palace, duct tapes Bubblegum's mouth and wakes her up with a creepy "Hey baby" with the intention of abducting her (again). Even worse is that he considers PB his girlfriend, even though she (for every good reason) wants nothing to do with him. And since the "Princess Bubblegum is Really700YearsOld" theory has been proven true in ''The Vault'', she has probably been dealing with this sort of thing for '''centuries!'''
** This also shows great patience on P.B.'s part as she's shown to have the capability of killing or seriously harming him and doesn't. Does she know about Simon and what the crown causes? Does she think he needs to live because the crown activates the Enchiridion?
* The Island Lady doesn't seem to be able to move. Lucky for her, really, that Party God was simply neglectful rather than straight-out abusive, because she's not able to defend herself.
** What happens if he comes back and doesn't know they broke up? Would he be able to tell him "No." that time?

** Lemongrab 2 is still dead. Who will take care of Lemon Pegasus?!
** More of a Fridge Tear Jerker than anything else. In the preview of "Too Old," we see the Lemon Children seated at the dining table, looking very morose. Keep in mind that one of their brothers has recently passed away, one of their dads has just killed their other dad, and the surviving dad is morbidly obese, unhealthy, AND an insane douchebag. The lemon babies have every ''reason'' to be glum in a family this dysfunctional.

** Given that she seemed to be low on options and time, and had no idea this would happen, there was probably nothing she could do to help them even if she wanted to.
*** Applying RealitySubtext to this outlook just makes everything more grim. How many people in real life have been left in horrible situations because of that reasoning? It's not wrong, it's just... sad.
** One could argue that Bonnibel went with Lemonhope since of all the lemon children, Lemonhope was the most "normal", at least outwardly. Which makes [[spoiler: Lemonhope ultimately refusing to rule over the other lemon people a possible case of karmic punishment for Bonnibel, since one of the less "normal" lemon children might have been more willing to fight Lemongrab and rule the other lemon children]].
** I don't think it was because he was "normal" but because his music seems to be the only thing with really affects Lemongrab. Not to mention that she said that she wanted him to be the Lemon people's champion, not ruler. This suggests she may have always intended to keep Lemongrab as ruler of the castle and just wanted Lemonhope to keep him from torturing his people. Which is a disturbing thought in and of itself.

** Not aging and being truly immortal are two different things. Basically anything besides old age can and will still kill her.
*** Not anymore. She has the Spoon of Prosperity now.

* There'll obviously be a lot of this after "Holly Jolly Secrets", but one that stood out was a part in "What Have You Done" where the Ice King's crown cries and says, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..." after being put on the Shelf of Penitence. In "Holly Jolly Secrets", we find out that a long time ago, the Ice King was [[spoiler: a normal human being named Simon Petrikov with a fiancee named Betty. Simon was sold the crown and decided to put it on to give Betty a laugh. The crown showed him visions and caused a flash of insanity, however, and after a NoodleIncident Betty was mortified and left him. The lesser of him there is, the nicer he is, basically. This is supported by his (possibly) [[FamousLastWords last words]]: "It has cost me much but I have learned that Lemon need not squeeze lemon to survive." By costing him much, he's obviously talking about how he lost most of his body. He got kinder, though it cost him a lot to do so. Similarly, Lemongrab 1 became much crueler and crazier because he had eaten so much of his brother. By consuming Lemongrab, he became MORE Lemongrab... if that makes any sense.
** [[http://dragonkeeper19600.tumblr.com/post/59855183073/fan-wank-time-a-lemon-divided This]] very interesting analysis posits another alternative reason. Tl;dr, the differences between the Lemongrabs is the result of the very different circumstances of their respective creation and lives. Lemongrab lived a life of rejection and loneliness that caused him to desperately crave acceptance from "normal" society and that was the cause of most of his unpleasantness to others and jealous hatred of Lemonhope. Lemongrab 2, by contrast, had always been in a place of acceptance and companionship and harbored none of Lemongrab's resentment or insecurities.
** From the WhamEpisode page on the relatively new game ''Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW!'': [[spoiler: "The game also gives insight into Lemongrab's turn to the dark side. This game revealed that Princess Bubblegum lured both Lemongrabs into an underground lair for the purpose of experimenting on them and torturing them. While Lemongrab 2 doesn't seem to entirely let this affect him, this seemed to be what entirely shattered what was left of Lemongrab's empathy."]]

** You can also notice, in that same episode, that there are the remains of houses deep in the ocean, where humans presumably once lived. Although he hasn't seen any other humans in a long time, it's not impossible for him to know that the rise/shift of the oceans caused the death of a lot of them.
** It's later revealed that [[spoiler:Finn's dad left him on a raft in the middle of the ocean as a baby.]] The fear of the ocean makes a lot of sense if he remembers that on a subconscious level.

** Alternatively, Finn chose to sing the song in his TRUE voice in order to satisfy the conditions for opening the door.
** Or he'd just passed the computer by then...
*** ...except Finn uses his autotuned singing voice in "Another Way," which takes place after "What Was Missing."

** The Marceline example is even more brilliant: [[spoiler:Her Bass, already established as her most treasured item in "It Came from the Nightosphere" wasn't stolen, giving an early tipoff that she hadn't actually had something taken.]]
** Alternatively, nothing was stolen from her because her most precious item, Hambo, had been [[spoiler: sold by Ash.]]

** During the second time the chorus is sung, Marceline [[LesYay joins in]], and leaves before the "because I'm younger" part. Given the amount of subtext already in the episode...
** Or each thing corresponds to one of the others present. Marceline does sometimes treat Finn like a joke, PB (while arguably as capable as Finn still) treats him as her knight, and Jake is his bro. Finn spends the whole episode trying to make everyone happy, and the song is about him trying to be what everyone needs, and the trouble of trying to do so much, and play so many roles, all at the same time.

** Alternative Interpretation: The reason that Jake doesn't act his age is because he's a dog, not a wolf, meaning that like all other domestic animals (with the possible exception of cats) he retains his juvenile temperament into adulthood.

** A similar bit of LeaningOnTheFourthWall occurs in "Paper Pete", when Jake says he was stuck reading the same paragraph for eleven minutes.

** Actually, if you look back at the scene carefully when [[spoiler: Jake is bitten,]] Marceline did find it odd for a split second, but immediately dismissed it. In her monstrous form, the expression doesn't come off well but you can tell she suspected something was up for a second before [[spoiler: tossing Jake.]] This is especially evident after we discover that she's not ''entirely'' evil.
