** Things weren't so lucky for her co-star Matthew Garber (who portrayed Dotrice's on-screen brother Michael Banks in the film), as he passed away in 1997 after contracting hepatitis whilst in India.

* Averted with ''Film/MaryPoppins'' star Karen Dotrice, who largely retired from acting and has made sporadic appearances since shying away from the spotlight in the 80s, her most recent cameo appearance being as an old lady in ''Film/MaryPoppinsReturns''. When asked about why she retired she cites being coaxed into appearing topless as a teenager as to why, further stating that she wouldn't have appeared in ''Poppins'' had she do it all over again.

* The famous child acting duo Creator/CoreyFeldman and Creator/CoreyHaim both had meltdowns in their adult lives. Eventually, it claimed Haim's life. Feldman has survived without crashing and burning, but as his 2016 appearance on ''[[Series/{{Today}} The Today Show]]'' has shown, the man is in that unfortunate position of having enough money to basically do whatever he wants without having friends who can talk him out of some of his ill-reasoned whims and help preserve his dignity.

* Much of the cast of ''Film/TheLittleRascals'' (the original short films, also known as ''Our Gang''), gave rise to the so-called "Our Gang Curse."

** Creator/DorothyDandridge was the only former Rascal to have a successful acting career as an adult and became the first black woman to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress. But her financial advisors lost all her money and died at 42.

* For some time, Creator/JakeLloyd seemed to be very bitter and cynical about his role as Anakin Skywalker in ''Film/ThePhantomMenace'', but since he went through high school and college with his classmates [[TeensAreMonsters teasing him about it]] and other people [[NeverLiveItDown constantly]] [[{{Misblamed}} accusing]] him of ruining ''Franchise/StarWars'', it's impossible to blame him for feeling so disillusioned. Despite this, a later interview between him and a ''Star Wars'' fansite (as well as a [[https://i.imgur.com/kBu6gYn.jpeg photo on his own Facebook page]]) showed that -- contrary to popular belief -- he does not hate the franchise after all the harassment. However, his personal life had troubles in the years afterward, from a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia at 19 to an arrest after a high-speed chase for reckless driving. He was checked into a psychiatric facility for treatment, where he stayed until 2020.

* Creator/BrookeShields, a popular young actress and fashion model in the late 1970s and early 1980s faced challenges due to the pressure from her StageMom. Despite continuing her acting career, Shields eventually opted for a more private life by attending Princeton. She gradually turned down high-profile roles and gradually faded from the public eye by the UsefulNotes/TurnOfTheMillennium.

* Creator/BrookeShields represents a ZigZagged example of this. She was a popular young actress and fashion model in the late 1970s and early 1980s. She struggled with this, largely due to her StageMom putting pressure on her. She kept acting, but she soon withdrew for a “normal” life by attending Princeton. She kept acting but eventually started turning down high-profile roles and was completely out of the spotlight until the mid-1990s.

* Tatum O'Neal, the youngest person to ever win a competitive Oscar, never came close to recapturing the success she had with ''Film/PaperMoon''. She continued to stay in the spotlight for the rest of the decade but never achieved much success in adulthood.
