Its story is loosely based on the 2004 ''ComicBook/CableAndDeadpool'' series, with Wade Wilson / Deadpool (Creator/RyanReynolds) being joined by franchise newcomers ComicBook/{{Cable}} (Creator/JoshBrolin) and ComicBook/{{Domino|Marvel Comics}} (Zazie Beetz), while returning cast members from the first film include Creator/MorenaBaccarin as Vanessa, Creator/TJMiller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapičić as ComicBook/{{Colossus}}, and Karan Soni as Dopinder. Jack Kesy also appears as the film's villain, Black Tom Cassidy, while Shiori Kutsuna and Julian Dennison have been cast in unspecified roles.

** Deadpool yells "Fuck it, I'll do it myself!" and tells the Cable action figure he has the "stones" to help him, as a reference to Cable's actor Creator/JoshBrolin also playing ComicBook/Thanos in ''Film/AvengersInfinityWar''.

** In the "Meet Cable" trailer, Deadpool yells at the visual effects department "It's a metal arm! It's not like we're trying to remove a ''mustache!''" in reference to Creator/HenryCavill's [[TakeThat infamous]] CGI mustache removal in ''Film/JusticeLeague2017''.

* SeriousBusiness: In one scene, Deadpool beats a number of milkmen to death with their own milk cartons.

* TakeThat: The first quarter of the second trailer has Cable's arm wrapped in green screen as the visual effects aren't finished yet. It's hard to imagine this having anything at all to do with the plot of the actual film... but one should remember this is a fucking ''Deadpool movie.''
