Young foreign diplomat Ronald Adair becomes the blackmailed pawn of devious criminal Dr. Moriarty, who threatens to expose Ronald as a card cheat if he does not make a delivery of stolen banknotes to France.

Young foreign There’s a murder of a guard in a bank’s strongroom, but no money is stolen. Holmes immediately suspects diabolical mastermind criminal Prof. Moriarity of plotting something deeper than a mere robbery.
