!! The Kung-Fu Instructor contain examples of:

* BadassTeacher: Wang Yang, the titular instructor, to the martial arts practitioners.
* BladeOnAStick: Master Meng in the final battle tries to rough up Wang Yang with a ''guandao'', whose blade is longer than an average sword.
* TheCavalryArrivesLate: The authorities eventually finds out that Master Wang and his disciple, Zhou Ping, are framed, and quickly sends several guards to assist Wang in the final battle. They arrive just in time to see Wang and Zhou Ping defeating and crippling Master Meng, and all of Meng's henchmen have been defeated and taken down, with their roles reduced to having Master Meng carted off to the magistrate.
* CoolTeacher: Master Wang Yang, the titular instructor, who is ''so cool'' that his rivals from other martial arts schools are willing to frame him for crimes he didn't commit just to get him out of the picture.
* DualWield: Er Lang, one of the henchmen, uses dual hook-swords against Wang Yang in one of the bigger one-vs-one fights in the film. He still gets his ass handed back to him.
* GoodHairEvilHair: Wang Yang the titular instructor and Master Meng, the main villain, both have moustaches, as does another rival clan leader Master Ou. Most of the named Master martial artists have facial hair as well, and establishes themselves to be much better than their students.
* GroinAttack: How Master Wang defeats Er Lang, the dual-sword wielding henchman: after relieving Er Lang of his swords and flipping him through the air, Master Wang brings down his staff on his opponent's crotch. In a later scene Er Lang (who somehow survived) is shown walking with his legs spread apart.
* AHandfulForAnEye: In the final battle against Master Meng, Wang Yang had his staff hacked into two by Meng's halberd. Zhou Ping, his partner, decides to back him up by kicking the sand on the floor into Meng's face. It slows down the villain for a while as Wang Yang regains his composure.
* MultiMeleeMaster: Master Wang established himself to be a very capable fighter using all sorts of weapons throughout the film, including the staff, sword, spear, chairs (yes) and his bare hands.
* ShieldBearingMook: In the final battle, Master Wang Yang and Zhou Ping had to do battle against a team of Meng's acolytes, who use sword and shields to counter the heroes' staff attacks. It's one of the longest fight scenes in the movie, coming right before the penultimate final fight against Master Meng.
* SimpleStaff: The preferred weapon of Wang Yang, which he's proven to be quite capable in using it to kick ass. The opening credits are in fact superimposed over Wang training himself in a cave with a staff.
* SinisterScythe: One of Master Ou's personal henchman wields a scythe as a weapon, which he used in his first scene to ambush Wang while disguised as a farmer.
* TrainingMontage: Frequently, with Master Wang training martial arts students to improve their skills. Justified given the setting in a martial arts school.
*WalkingShirtlessScene: Master Wang Yang, the titular character is played by Ti Lung, after all. He's not as young in this movie as many others where he gets to expose his abs, but he still have plenty of shirtless scenes.
* WantedPoster: Wang Yang and Zhou Ping ends up becoming wanted fugitives after being framed by Master Meng, with their posters displayed on a public billboard.
