** Roughly halfway, Geoffrey Howe warns Maggie that she shouldn't test her collauges loyalty too far. Eventually after a particularly vicious ReasonYouSuckSpeech, Howe resigns which sets off a chain of events that lead to Thatcher's resignation as Prime Minister rather than be humiliated by loosing a leadership election.

* RantInducingSlight: After some ministers tell Maggie that she should not go forward with her "Community Charge" because many people believe it's unfair, Thatcher gives a rather malicious ReasonYouSuckSpeech to her ''entire'' cabinet, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking calling them cowards for not wanting to put up a fight and traitors for willing to make comprises with the European Union, and agreeing with French economic theories.]]

* YouAreWhatYouHate: As a young PM, Maggie was frustrated that her opinions and concerns were always shot down by others.....so when she becomes Prime Minister she does the same not only to the Labour Oppostion but also her own cabinent. It doesn't end well for her.

* ImaginaryFriend: In the present-day segments, Thatcher is accompanied by the illusory figure of her late husband. JimBroadbent is clearly having the time of his life playing Denis.

* RantInducingSlight/ ReasonYouSuckSpeech: Thatcher gives a rather malicious one to her ''entire'' cabinet, just because they correctly believe that her proposed "Community Charge" is considered unfair by most people and it would be a good idea to drop it, and tell her so to her face.

* CommanderContrarian: Thatcher shoots down ''any'' criticism to her policies from her opponnets and fellow Tories. It eventually backfires after her cabinet just can't take it any more.

** Although that also depends on what you see in this movie or as what you define it: People, who don't have an opinion on Margaret Thatcher, (especially foreigners) don't or can't think of it as a [[{{Biopic}} biography]] (or hagiography for that matter), but rather a portrayal of a woman, who rose to power and lost everything in the end. After all, even many ''neutral'' parts of her life are cut off or skimmed (it is never mentioned, what she studied at Oxford) and the movie itself ''never'' brings up a political discussion: [[WordOfGod It's all about aging.]] Regardless of that, [[HistoricalHeroUpgrade it still paints her all white, since we never see her doing something bad.]] [[{{Hatedom}} According to the movie, it's like half Britain hates her for no reason.]] That being said, it might be easier to enjoy and actually ''like'' this movie as someone without any knowledge/opinion on her policies.
