''Indestructible Man'' is a 1956 SciFiHorror film directed by Jack Pollexfen.

A violent criminal called "The Butcher" (Creator/LonChaneyJr) is executed and then brought back to life by a scientist using electricity. The Butcher becomes an invulnerable mute and seeks vengeance upon those who caused his execution.

Film historian Tom Weaver wrote an excellent book about the film as Volume #2 of his ''Scripts from the Crypt'' series (following hot on the heels of Volume #1, ''Film/TheHideousSunDemon''), featuring extensive background information about the film as well the script.

!! "300,000 Tropes of Terror!"

* AbsurdlySpaciousSewer: One of the later areas Benton gets chased to.
* {{BFG}}: Once the police track Benton down to the sewer, and realize that bullets have little effect on him, they break out the standard police-issue flamethrower and bazooka.
* BodyHorror: Benton after his indestructibility starts wearing a little thin.
* TheButcher: The eponymous indestructible man is Charles "The Butcher" Benson.
* {{Fanservice}}: Lots of shots of Eva and Marjorie in their stripper outfits.
* FireBreathingWeapon: The police use a flamethrower to drive off Benton in the sewers.
* FourthDateMarriage: Chasen proposes to Eva a mere ''three days'' after meeting her at the beginning of his investigation. And even has her fired from her job at the burlesque house as part of the deal.
* GoneHorriblyRight: Prof. Bradshaw plans to move his experiments into the cause and cure of cancer to human subjects. Benton's corpse is subjected to chemical injection and massive jolts of high-voltage electricity in order to study the effect on human tissues. But Benton's heart is re-stimulated and he completely revives (though rendered mute due to electrical damage to his vocal cords), immensely strong and with skin virtually impervious to scalpels, police bullets, even to bazooka shells.
* LadyDrunk: The old lady in the BadGuyBar.
* MinskyPickup: Used by one of the burlesque dancers while chatting with another.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Butcher Benton.
* NighInvulnerability: "Nigh" being the important word here. The Butcher looks noticeably the worse for wear after a flamethrower to the face and a bazooka to the gut.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: [[TheSpeechless Minus the roaring.]]
* ShowSomeLeg: Benton runs across an attractive young lady next to her broken down car. Turns out she was being used as a bit of bait for the driver, a somewhat slimeball carney. Sure, the car was actually broken down, but the guy knew the girl would be better at attracting help.
* TheSpeechless: Butcher Benton after his resurrection.
* TheVoiceless: The woman with the broken down car apparently won't talk.
* SuperStrength: After his resurrection, Butcher Benson is strong enough to lift a car and rip a steel safe apart with bare hands.
* SuperToughness: After the operation, the Butcher can shrug off small arms fire, though despite the title he far from indestructible.
* ThousandYardStare: Seen in a witness as she's talking to the police about her encounter with The Butcher. [[Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000 Joel and the Bots]] find it incredibly unnerving when she ''doesn't blink'' for almost the entire scene.
