** Subverted by Ryan, who gets Dawn to have sex with him of her own accord, but has entirely dishonorable reasons for doing so. Arguably the case with Tobey as well, whose attempt at rape is shown to be a moment of madness rather than any deep-seated hatred for women.

* BileFascination: Anyone who watched this movie probably did because of this. It's not like you ''want'' to see a movie about a carnivorous vagina, but then again, you can't help it...

* GenreSavvy: For a sick bastard, Brad actually is clever enough to realise that there's no way that [[spoiler:Dawn]] would actually want to have sex with him near the end of the film, and it takes much persuasion before he finally agrees to go through with it.
* HighOctaneNightmareFuel: Vaginas that bite off mens penises? Every hetero is going to have nightmares for years.

* MissedMomentOfAwesome: Though YourMileageMayVary on whether or not it's awesome or {{Squick}}, the only time we ever see a vagina in the movie is a medical book diagram. The movie ends up remarkably afraid to show what could have been true HighOctaneNightmareFuel.

* OhCrap: Brad has an almighty instance of this, as he finally realises just how Dawn severely lacerated one of his fingers when he was a youngster. [[spoiler:Said realization comes while he's in the middle of having sex with her]].

* YouFailBiologyForever. In the film it is implied that the teeth are a genetic mutation to give women a defense mechanism against rape. Let's see how the science bears this one out.
** Apparently a child will randomly experience a significant genetic mutation where she will grow giant shark like teeth (they are explicitly compared to the teeth of some carnivorous fish in the film) in her vagina (which is a good 2 feet from where they should grow) AND the musculature that would be necessary to fully control the biting motion of these teeth AND this whole overly complex system developed wholesale, completely intact in one generation without any subsystems developing first and finally functioning together as a whole after generations of mutation.

*** Having said that, the film does lampshade how unlikely it would be for this to actually happen. Dawn has a biology class early in the film, and the teacher gives a fairly accurate description of the evolutionary process, mentioning that it's ''extremely'' unlikely for a major new bodily function to spontaneously develop.

The only think he was going for was to get Dawn in the sack, and he put on the front of seeming the same as her about a lot of things. (Sex is bad, timid about the first kiss, etc.) This all works out for him, finally getting her in a position to get some, but [[BerserkButton when she refuses his advances...]]

* AllAbusersAreMale: Even a practicing gynecologist decides to abuse Dawn during her check up.

* AbusiveParents: Mildly inverted. Even though he's Dawn's stepfather, Dawn's dad is the only character who doesn't want or try to abuse her. In fact, he and the mom are the only decent characters in the entire film.
