** While the basic outline of Ritchie's rise to fame is accurate, there's also a fair amount of outright fictionalization, especially in Ritchie-Bob scenes. For one thing, Ritchie didn't actually learn the title song at a Tijuana brothel; he'd known it since he was a kid.
** The coin toss between Ritchie and Tommy Allsup really took place back at the ballroom after the show, not on the airport runway.
