* RippedFromTheHeadlines: This film seemed to have been made in a very specific period before Operation Barbarossa. In the climactic "Axel" partner conference, there are [[{{Expy}} expies]] for UsefulNotes/BenitoMussolini, and a [[UsefulNotes/ImperialJapan Japanese ambassador]]. So far, so good. However, also in attendance were an {{Expy}} for UsefulNotes/JosefStalin, and the "Bey of Rhum," standing in for Turkey. Not-Stalin's presence can be explained by the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact still in effect (barely) as of the time of filming that while not making the [=USSR=] an Axis partner [[note]]Although there seems to have been perfunctory talks along those lines, neither Hitler nor Stalin would ever have seriously considered a lasting alliance -- especially since the former's endgame was [[ForegoneConclusion pretty much always to eventually invade and conquer the latter's nation]] for ''lebensraum''[[/note]], ushered in a short-lived period of co-existence, trade and some cooperation between the Nazi and Communist blocs. The Bey of Rhum seems to have been a holdover from Ottoman Turkey's membership in the UsefulNotes/WorldWarOne Central Powers.

[[note]]Turkey had signed a mutual aid pact with Britain and France in 1939, though they declined to join the war when Nazi Germany invaded Poland (and wouldn't until 1945), but were generally seen as pro-Allied at the time, and mostly throughout the conflict, though they did sign a "Treaty of Friendship" with the Nazis at the height of their power in 1941, after this short was filmed and released.[[/note]]

There was nothing manly about those tears!

** Hailstone's painting of Napoleon Bonaparte comes alive long enough to steal his turkey dinner. Hailstone [[ManlyTears despairs over the loss of his dinner]] and throws a temper tantrum.

Names The Same is no longer a trope

* NamesTheSame: Both this short and ''Film/TheGreatDictator'' had a Field Marshal Herring. It's [[JustForPun just way too delicious an opportunity for puns]], one would assume.

This ''[[Film/TheThreeStooges Three Stooges]]'' short is a sequel to ''Film/YouNaztySpy''.

Surviving the lions from the previous short, Moe Hailstone, dictator of Moronika, along with Minister of Propaganda Larry Pebble and Field Marshall Curly Herring, sets out to conquer the world, but may run into an obstacle or two.
----
!!This short provides the following tropes:

* AdolfHitlarious: As much if not more than the previous short.
* CookingTheLiveMeal: The daughter of the king of Moronika, diguised as a fortune teller, shows Hailstone, Pebble, and Herring a vision of what their allies might do to them through a special telescope: All three of them are tied to a roasting spit, and turned over the fires of {{Hell}}, with demons poking them... and seasoning them!
* HumanHeadOnTheWall: Hailstone, Pebble and Herring’s heads end up as mounted trophies.
* FreezeFrameBonus: Hilariously exploited onscreen, with a long and lingering full-frame shot of Hailstone's map, just so audiences can read all the [[IncrediblyLamePun incredibly lame]] [[PunnyName Punny Names]] of the countries and locations.
* NamesTheSame: Both this short and ''Film/TheGreatDictator'' had a Field Marshal Herring. It's [[JustForPun just way too delicious an opportunity for puns]], one would assume.

* RuleOfFunny:
** Hailstone's painting of Napoleon Bonaparte comes alive long enough to steal his turkey dinner. Hailstone [[ManlyTears despairs over the loss of his dinner]] and throws a temper tantrum.
** The spy who plants the explosive poses as an astrologer who shows the trio their future through a telescope, which [[{{Foreshadowing}} shows them in hell and tied to a spit being roasted alive by devils]].
* ThirteenIsUnlucky: The hidden explosive was hidden in, of all the sixteen balls on the pool table, the number 13 ball.
* ThisIsAWorkOfFiction: Parodied as with the previous short: ''"The characters in this picture are all fictitious. Anyone resembling them is better off dead."''
* UnexplainedRecovery / NegativeContinuity: No explanation is given as to how Hailstone, Pebble and Herring survived being [[EatenAlive devoured]] by the lions. Then again, neither any of the other shorts have an explicit continuity whatsoever.
