The film opens with teenaged Jamie escaping with a baby from the clutches of the Thorn cult. She doesn't get far due to Michael Myers pursuing her, but she manages to hide her child before being killed by him. The baby is then found by Tommy Doyle, who was one of the kids Laurie was watching over in [[Film/{{Halloween 1978}} the original film]]. As Michael kills people around Haddonfield, Tommy, assisted by the retired Dr. Loomis, try to unravel the mystery surrounding the cult he is working for.
