** A boy throws a [[VideoGame/Pokemon|Squirtle]] action figure into his fireplace while screaming insults at it. This was a clear jab at the both the popularity of the ''Pokemon'' series rivaling Godzilla's (a bit hypocritical, since Toho iis the one who produces and releases the ''Pokemon'' films, and in recent films, has even started using sound effects from the ''Godzilla'' series for Legendary Pokemon), and the ''Franchise/{{Gamera}}'' franchise, the ''Godzilla'' series' biggest rival.

** In one of the most brutal examples of this trope in action, Godzilla fights [[Film/{{Godzilla 1998}} Zilla]] and wins, effortlessly, in less than 20 seconds. Just to rub it in further, the frustrated villain then mutters: "I knew that tuna-eating lizard was useless" (or, in the English dub, "I knew that tuna-head wasn't up to much"). The name of the scene in question, "Pretender to the Throne", and the music used in the fight, Sum 41's ''All To Blame'', serve to further highlight Toho's opinion of Zilla. It's very likely deliberate that Zilla is also the only kaiju who is rendered with CG graphics, and faces off against a Godzilla depicted through old-school rubber suit effects. Toho actually bought the rights to use Zilla just so they could kill it.
