* The Banner House editors, when told to say “Cheers” by Theodore Banner, are all calm but plainly livid because of the success of the titular book, as Vikki gleefully notes in the next scene.

* MissedHimByThatMuch: Catcher leaves the Mahogany Room with Gwendolyn to go a matinee just as Barbara and Vikki arrive there.

Because he doesn't know how any of the switches work and he's clearly out of his element, he ends up causing the couch to flatten Vikki when he tries to activate the all for the built-in bar, confuses her by making her think he's gay (she doesn't reveal this part until later, though), scares them both by playing music which turns out to be much louder than expected, and in trying to turn the music down, causes the record player to spit records across the room.

* CallBack: The latter half of Catcher and Barbara's date at Peter's apartment shows Barbara looking at the moon through Peter's telescope. [[spoiler:Towards the end, Peter reveals that Barbara threw away everything Catcher sent her to try and win her back, including the telescope.]]

* OutOfContextEavesdropping: Sally, Catcher's new secretary, eavesdrops on the latter half of Catcher's conversation with Peter over the intercom, and to her it sounds like they're measuring their penises. Had she heard the first part, she would have known they were talking about the length of their socks.
