* ApocalypseAnarchy: Parodied: at the climax, where all of the guests are scared out of their minds because they now know there is a killer on the island [[spoiler: thanks to Sam dangling all of the hosts' corpses on the dance hall]], the whole group riots and does such things as have sex while wearing calamari costumes.

Lars, a big fan of washed up singer Coconut Pete, arrives on his private party island to start his new job. His timing couldn't be worse however, as there is a killer among the islands various crackpot employees. And they have to figure out who before there's no one left...

* WhosOnFirst: One of the main characters is named Yu, so of course there would be a little of this:

* WordSaladLyrics: The Coconut Pete song "Naughty Cal", which actually factors into the plot: The murders initially seem to be based off the song, but the lyrics are so nonsensical that trying to use them to figure out the killer's next move proves impossible. When asked about what the song means, Pete says that he was on so many drugs at the time that he doesn't even remember writing it.

* EveryoneAlreadyKnew: [[spoiler:Jenny deflates Putman's declaration about Dave's supposed DarkSecret by saying ''everyone'' knew how his parents died and that he's Pete's nephew.]]

* {{Homage}}: The upper half of [[spoiler: Sam's]] body tries to grab Penelope out of the boat in a manner highly similar to Jason Voorhees at the end of the ''Film/FridayThe13th1980''.

* LastNoteNightmare: "Naughty Cal" ends with Coconut Pete saying a very spooky "we're all gonna die!" and performing an EvilLaugh, which makes everybody nervous when they try to make sense of the song's lyrics. [[spoiler:Becomes spookier when they find Dave's head on a record player that is playing "Naughty Cal" and it [[BrokenRecord gets stuck on]] "we're all gonna die... we're all gonna die... we're all gonna die...."]]

* LowSpeedChase: How [[spoiler:Yu]] meets [[spoiler:her]] end.

* OhCrap: [[spoiler:Putman]] after [[spoiler:Jenny]] handcuffs him to a bed by accident and the killer spots them.

* OpenSecret: [[spoiler:Putman thinks Dave is the killer when he reveals to everyone that Dave's parents were trampled to death at a Coconut Pete concert. Also, Pete is Dave's uncle and Dave is likely to inherit the island once Pete dies. This is meant to be seen as a major revelation... except Jenny tells Putman that ''everyone'' knew about Dave's parents and his relationship to Pete, chastising Putman for his lack of tact. Oh, and Dave reveals he acquired the rights to the island days before people began dying, so it wouldn't have mattered if Pete was dead or not.]]

** Both Penelope and Putman are odd, [[spoiler:but neither one is the killer.]]
** Penelope mentions in passing while giving her reason why she's a host on the island (getting fed up with an EducationMama that wanted her to be a gymnast) that her former trainer was a psychotic DrillSergeantNasty that would have hunted her down to the ends of the Earth and killed anybody who got in the way to force her to continue training. [[spoiler:The man never appears.]]

* TheWalrusWasPaul: [[spoiler:Sam lampshades how stupid the others are by thinking "Naughty Cal" actually factored into the pattern of the killings and says "I'm the walrus!".]]
