contradict him, being left out and excluded as the 'new girl'. However, later on once she's part of the group, it's a different story. Tess is fiercely loyal to her employees (particularly her performers and full-time workers) and will take care of them no matter what, [[spoiler:even letting Nicki back in after she really deserved to be kicked to the curb with a very sharp-toed boot]], and despite the squabbling backstage, once you're ''in'', you're basically family with all the bad and the good that that entails, [[spoiler:at one point one of the girls gets married and the rest of the girls are her bridesmaids]].

* SuspiciouslyAproposMusic: Jack's big re-introduction to writing music, the song he has been working on and so afraid to show everyone is... a peppy new Burlesque introduction number that is mostly just repetition and re-working the previous one? Riiiiight. Sure it is.

** Which was the intention...maybe? The idea was to contrast the glossy cabaret acts that happen in a full house, to her singing with no costume or make-up, on the stage after everyone's gone (with the plot excuse being that she needs to practice it before its performed). Or not. It's difficult to figure out what is done intentionally and what isn't in this movie.

Blue Eyes is being split into different tropes (Creepy Blue Eyes,Innocent Blue Eyes, Occult Blue Eyes and Icy Blue Eyes) as per this thread because it\'s not just about having that eye colour, it\'s about what traits blue eyes supposed to symbolise and blue eyes is constantly being misused for \"X has blue eyes\", so anything that doesn\'t fit the split off tropes or Zero Content Examples will be removed. This goes for most of the Common Eye Colours tropes as well

The Burlesque Lounge has its best days behind it. Tess, a retired dancer and owner of the venue, struggles to keep the aging theater alive, facing all kinds of financial and artistic challenges. With the Lounge's troupe members becoming increasingly distracted by personal problems and a threat coming from a wealthy businessman's quest to buy the spot from Tess, the good fortune seems to have abandoned the club altogether. Meanwhile, the life of Ali, a small-town girl from Iowa, is about to change dramatically. Hired by Tess as a waitress at the Lounge, Ali escapes a hollow past and quickly falls in love with the art of burlesque. Backed by new-found friends amongst the theater's crew, she manages to fulfill her dreams of being on stage herself. Things take a dramatic turn though when Ali's big voice makes her become the main attraction of the revue.
