* ChekhovsParty: The first party where Emmet goads Dylan into jumping off the roof into the pool. You can see Mandy look at Emmet from the pool, giving him the go-ahead, which is an early hint that Emmet and Mandy are in on the massacre together, and won't be confirmed until Mandy kills Chloe.

* BlackBestFriend: Bird. However, he avoids being an EthnicScrappy — the only reference to his ethnicity is when a girl asks him whether it's true [[BiggerIsBetterInBed what they say about black men]], and his speech isn't peppered with street slang.

* AmbiguouslyGay: Mandy. She's [[LesbianJock athletic]], she doesn't seem attracted to any of the guys in school despite [[DoggedNiceGuy all their best efforts]], and her scenes with Chloe are possibly the only moments where she appears to be sexually attracted to another character. And of course, there's the RealitySubtext with [[QueerCharacterQueerActor Heard as Mandy]]... This would make the movie a rather interesting aversion of BuryYourGays.
