* ''Comments'': ''Relatively Absent'' is both an excellent example and an excellent [[SubvertedTrope subversion]] of the FukuFic. Sadly, it's also a DeadFic.
** Not just dead but also permanently removed from the internet with Togashi Gaijin's departure from the fanfiction business in Summer 2009. Some attempts at providing copies of the fic have been met with personal requests to cease from TG himself. Apparently a {{Keep Circulating the Tapes}} mentality is required here; good luck and good hunting, tropers.
*** This troper was sort of a beta reader for [=RelAbs=], and one of the most prolific commenters, and kept up a dialogue with Mark while it was still being written. When Mark made his decision to pull it entirely, this troper argued the point at length, and ultimately came to the conclusion that the author is a complete asshole. This revelation more or less sours any desire to see this excellent story continue -- a moot point, since it's gone forever at this point.

Sailor Saturn has been reborn, and with her comes hope for the Earth's salvation... or its destruction.
* ''Comments:'' Honestly, I'm amazed at how much I liked this one considering how many reasons it gave me to hate it with a passion. The author kills off my favorite SailorMoon character in the backstory and hands her powers to a character I was neutral-at-best towards when I first read it; worse still, the S Season goes DarkerAndEdgier ''in style'', complete with BodyHorror, YouCantFightFate, huge numbers of civilian casualties, a brief appearance by Azathoth and a ''fight scene'' between the Senshi and [[spoiler: freaking ''Ithaqua'']]. But it's also amazingly written, Ranma's struggle to ScrewDestiny and not destroy the world is about as compelling as such plots get, and ultimately it still comes down fairly solidly on the idealistic side of the [[SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism Sliding Scale]] despite being caught somewhere between CosmicHorrorStory and LovecraftLite. While I usually despise SailorMoon fics that get DarkerAndEdgier to this degree, I have to give this one a recommendation simply because I can't bring myself to hate it.

** Tropers/SunTzu: One of the best things to come out of the Sailor Moon fandom, in this troper's opinion. ShadowJack's review often reads like an AbridgedSeries, except that it actually conveys respect for the characters and themes of the show. I'd go so far as to say he often handles them better than the original writers!

* ''Comments'': This is how you do a Self-Insert; you pick a low-powered character and see how much your foreknowledge helps when your only abilities are rose-throwing, speech-making, and whacking bitches with your crazy pimp cane. This is ''hysterical'', especially because Chase has a habit of snarking at everyone around him and lampshading/parodying every trope he comes across. He also has ''none'' of Mamoru's innate suaveness and is basically ad-libbing all his lines so Tux-Boy comes across as being ''totally out of his gourd'' to Usagi and Luna and the rest.

* ''Synopsis'': An anime fan with almost no prior experience with ''Sailor Moon'' (the first dozen episodes and knowledge of two jokes about the English dub) goes through the series episode by episode, recapping and reinterpreting it in a manner similar to an [[TheAbridgedSeries Abridged Series]] in ScriptFic format with bonus comic sketches, with references along the way to ''DarkwingDuck'', ''HPLovecraft'', ''TheOrderOfTheStick'', ''{{Exalted}}'', and everything in-between. Read, or Mercury will beat you to death with her goddamn princess wand.

**** ShayGuy: I don't recall hating it so much as just dismissing it as a CookieCutterFic employing the general-media equivalent of RatedMForMoney (s/revenue/eyeballs, of course) with a flimsy alternate-universe explanation. But I just want to say...does it even have to be explained that "good stories are ''entertaining''" is an oversimplification? AngstAversion notwithstanding, plenty of genuinely great works are not what I'd call enjoyable to consume. That, of course, does not imply that ''OACDYCSF'' is one of them.
