* AllThereInTheManual: Though the author typically gives the necessary background information from V-Tamer when a particular aspect from it is referenced within the story, reading the manga provides nearly all of the exposition for Tai's darker history. As more of the story's plot continues to be effected by events that occurred within V-Tamer, it is likely a good idea to read it and better understand how the two stories relate to one another. On the occasions that the author has not given the necessary information and simply inserted references to events that transpired in the manga some readers were confused as to where the information originated from.

* DarkIsNotEvil: Pal and Pul are brother and sister Demidevimon who are not evil. (really Petitmamon, which was not in the V-pets not even named until V-tamer was finished so they were simply called Demidevimon [[CallASmeerpARabbit because it was the closest relative]])

* ForWantOfANail: The crossover aspect of the story could be viewed as such with Tai's [[Manga/{{Digimon V-Tamer 01}} past experiences]] serving as the alteration from cannon.

* GogglesDoNothing: Subverted. As in V Tamers Tai uses them while his partner is flying. [[spoiler: They are also used in a plan to deliver Kari her [[McGuffin Digivice]] mid-battle.]]

* KeepingSecretsSucks/ TheyreCalledPersonalIssuesForAReason: Tai does not tell everyone that he has been to the Digital World before, and spends most of the time through the Etemon arc internally moaning about where everything he is used to has gone. [[spoiler: The reason why he didn't tell the others is because the events of V Tamers have left him with trust issues. After [[TheLancer Neo]] shoves this in his face, Tai decides to tell the rest of the group after the problems with Myotismon are done.]]

* RedemptionEqualsDeath: After finally realizing that he had the power to pursue his own course and that he didn't have to [[LesCollaborateurs bend the knee]] to every tyrant that came along, [[spoiler: Ogremon]] decides to fight for good and ends up giving his life for his new cause.

* DisproportionateRetribution: Granted that Tai may have killed Myotismon when seeking the Tag of Illusions, but his rage is so great towards Tai that his hated of hims sustained his life force for over two thousand years in the Dark Area. Not only that, but he pleasantly goes out of his way in his attempt to make Tai suffer simply to break the look of defiance that Tai had in his eyes. Also counts as MisplacedRetribution towards Gatomon, whom he punishes and abuses simply for having the same look in her eyes.

* DoorStopper: As of March 18th, 2014 it is approximately 200,000 words long and takes up 20 Chapters. It has not yet finished the Myotismon Arc. Very little is actually filler.

* HeroicSacrifice: Doubleing down with a YouShallNotPass, Pumpkinmon holds off Myotismon while Gatomon and Wizardmon escape with Kari's Crest of Light.

* CompleteMonster: Myotismon cements himself as this when he uses the people of Odiba [[spoiler: to regenerate during fight with the Digidestined as [[OneWingedAngel Malo Myotismon]].]]

** The Digidestined try and have a plan A for defeating Venom Myotismon that isn't "Follow the Prophecy". Due to what it entails, [[spoiler: Tai and Matt being shot with Holy class Ultimate and Champion Level attacks respectively]], this is not a surprise.
