** Diana the dementor is by far the most attractive of her kind, being a StatuesqueStunner with sharp, distinguished facial features (minus her ring-shaped mouth) and a bright, inquisitive personality to match.

* FantasticRacism: To an even greater degree than in canon. In addition to their disdain towards {{Muggles}}, the wizarding world does ''not'' treat non-humans well, to the point where it's only Dumbledore's intervention that keeps Hermione from automatically being expelled from Hogwarts once she's turned herself into a catgirl. Ron darkly tells her that if the Ministry has its way, she wouldn't only be expelled, but likely either killed or enslaved to live out her days as some twisted pureblood's SexSlave, while her family's memories of her are erased. Luckily, Dumbledore ''does'' intervene and Hermione is allowed to stay at Hogwarts, though Madam Pomfrey tells her she "does not wish to know how" Dumbledore managed to convince the Board of Governors.
* FateWorseThanDeath: It's all but implied that the Greengrass parents were subject to something ''horrible'' by Dumbledore after their meeting with the Hogwarts headmaster, as Snape notes in chapter 19.

** Snape is appalled at Fudge's decision to station the dementors at Hogwarts given the damage they are capable of, and the fact that Diana's the one leading the dementor taskforce does not improve his mood in the slightest since she's capable of bypassing Hogwarts' anti-dementor barrier.

** Ron ''hates'' prejudice, especially prejudice against non-humans. He didn't like prejudice in canon either, of course, but here he absolutely loathes bigotry of any sort, and will go on profanity-laden rants about the "bastards in power." He even hates memory charms when used on Muggles, calling it "MindRape."

** He does the same for Jacob and Sunny Greengrass for abandoning Daphne after she became a werewolf, laying into the couple for treating their eldest daughter so callously the moment she no longer was "pure" in their eyes.
-->'''Jacob''': Headmaster Dumbledore, this is unexpected. What brings you here?
-->'''Dumbledore''': I have come to discuss your daughter
--> '''Jacob''': What are you talking about? Astoria doesn't start Hogwarts for a few weeks yet.
-->'''Dumbledore''': I was speaking of your ''other'' daughter.
-->'''Jacob''': I have no other daughters.
-->'''Dumbledore''': Oh? I remember differently. Daphne was quite an interesting student, and I was devastated to hear the news of her disappearance.
-->'''Jacob''': Indeed. It has affected my wife and I deeply, especially as time has gone on, and we are forced to accept the likelihood that our daughter is dead.
-->'''Dumbledore''': Of course. My ''deepest'' condolences. Losing a child is always a tragedy, one that I have seen all too often myself. (...) Imagine my surprise, then, when I happened across her not twelve hours ago, hale and hearty and under the care of a personal friend of mine.
-->'''Jacob''': Why, that's incredible! We have to get her back, immediately! Thank you, Headmaster, for telling us.
-->'''Dumbledore''': [[WithDueRespect With all due respect,]] Lord and Lady Greengrass, [[SophisticatedAsHell drop your bullshit.]]
-->'''Sunny''': How dare you speak to us like that!
-->'''Dumbledore''': I dare because of what you did to your ''eldest daughter''.
-->'''Sunny''': What are you talking about?
-->'''Dumbledore''': You see, Daphne had a ''fascinating'' story to tell me when I met her today. Fascinating, and heartbreaking.
--> '''Jacob''': If you've seen her, you ''know'' what she is! She's a ''monster'', nothing more! That ''thing'' is [[IHaveNoSon no longer my daughter!]]
-->'''Dumbledore''': So that's your excuse. That's why you ''disowned your own child''. You truly believe that she's some sort of...unthinking animal now. (''James and Sunny nod their heads") I see. In that case, I suppose I have no regrets about doing this on her behalf.
-->'''Sunny''': Wait! What are you ''doing''? You can't just...attack us! You'll be sent to Azkaban for a crime like that!
-->'''Dumbledore''': Oh, really? (''lips twist into a GrinOfRage'') ''I'm'' the criminal here?
-->'''Jacob''': You are! We were completely within our rights to disown Daphne for getting bitten! She's not even human anymore under the law!
-->'''Dumbledore''': Unfortunately, you're right on both counts, which leaves my hands rather tied. Unfortunately for you, I don't particularly care. I suppose I'll just have to dispense my own justice in this situation. (''immobilizes Jacob'') Let this be a lesson: ''Never touch another one of my students again''.

** Daphne is adopted by Remus Lupin after her parents disowned her, and the time she spends as his surrogate daughter helps her shed the toxic ideals of her old household since she gets to see the wizarding and Muggle world through a bigger lens.

* {{Womanchild}}: Bella is physically mature enough to be called a woman, but thanks to having essentially been in a magical coma for most of her life, she often acts as if she's younger. At the Burrow she chases chickens for fun and whines like a little girl when the garden gnomes won't let her catch and eat them.

* ACupAngst: Ironically, since she herself is explicitly stated to have [[BreastExpansion gone from a modest B-cup to a double D]] as part of her CatGirl transformation, Hermione is still rather jealous and annoyed that Bella and Ari both have bigger breasts than her, [[NonMammalianMammaries even though neither of them are technically mammals.]]

* WalkingShirtlessScene: In their earlier scenes, neither Ari nor Bella wear anything to cover their breasts when in their respective drider and lamia forms. In Ari's case it's because she never wore clothes out in the forest and has very little in the sense of body modesty; and while Bella was raised by humans and sees why she's expected to cover up, her original clothes have long since rotted away and Tom Riddle never cared enough to get her new ones.

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Dumbledore is devastated when he finds out that the Dursleys abused Harry and falls into a HeroicBSOD as a result of his mistake. It takes Snape telling Dumbledore to [[GetAholdOfYourselfMan get ahold of himself]] to snap out of it.
** That being said, when Dumbledore goes to investigate the Dursley house at Little Whinging, he is flat-out horrified that he nearly caused Harry to develop an Obscurus that would have utterly obliterated the neighborhood had it fully manifested.

** In Luna's one scene so far, we get a taste of how the Fae have a very different sense of morality from humans; she thoroughly freaks out Arthur and Molly by alternating between hugging Ginny and telling her how glad she is that she's not safe, and threatening to curse her spirit to "wander the endless netherworld for a thousand thousand years." She's utterly confused about the Weasleys' reactions to this.
