* InexplicableCulturalTies: Given Remnant is not Earth, the girls don't catch some cultural references and find the U.S. state names ridiculous. That being said, they access ''our'' universe's Wikipedia and Halo Wiki, and apparently some media is present in their world too (i.e. Weiss being a recovering ''Franchise/CallOfDuty'' addict and Yang knowing all about ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'').

** Also, the girls asking where Noire's shock collar is, followed by her dodging the question or answering in puzzle form.

* ShoutOut: One of the songs used to calm Yang down is the sixth season opening to Franchise/{{Naruto}}.

** IronButtmonkey: Yang tends to take a lot of physical abuse for humor's sake as well. Once, it borders on PostModernism, as Yang saying Texas "sounds like a dumb place to live" leads to abuse by an offscreen entity called "[[Creator/RoosterTeeth RT]]".
