* TheBadGuyWins: Twofold. [[spoiler:Despite the heroes and students best efforts, this is how the I-Island arc ends: While all his physical bodies are destroyed, Ultron successfully uploads his consciousness inside the I-Island computers, destroys the last evacuation ship, leaving Izuku and his friends stuck on the island just as the military launches a bombardment to destroy the place and prevent Ultron's escape. * BloodierAndGorier: The I-Island arc becomes this with the arrival of [[spoiler:Ultron, who promptly executes Sam and all the Brotherhood mercenaries attacking the gala.]]

* InLoveWithYourCarnage: When Tenko mentions how he intends to brutalize any CRC (a hate group that targets mutants), Tsu leaves an... excited "ribbit" in the group chat. Tenko is left embarrassed by this.

** Vlad King is so convinced that Izuku is a traitor, he orders his students to gang up on Izuku and force a confession out of him in the middle of the team battles at the Sports Festival. [[spoiler:Despite being a Chuunibyou and 1-A's resident lover of macabre, his possession at the hands of Khonshu happened during NearDeathExperience, where neither him nor Dark Shadow had the power to decline the deity's help, not to mention that said "partnership" is way more beneficial towards Khonshu than him, and if Fumikage decides to end said "partnership", the hero student will be left in a near-death state where he was found.]]

* BondVillainStupidity: Hirona gloats to Izuku about how the Nomu only obeys to her commands. This prompts the boy to shapeshift into her and take control of the monster. First to attack her in order for him to escape, and later into obeying Izuku and only Izuku.

* CanonCharacterAllAlong: As it turns out, [[spoiler:Himiko]] was the pink haired girl in orange sweater that talked to Ochako about embracing her feelings and admiting her feelings for Izuku during the Sports Festival in Chapter 25, and her partner, the plain looking man with brown hair was actually [[spoiler:Compress out of costume.]]

** Shoto tries to show off some of the dancing moves that Quill taught him to Momo and Kyoka. Cuts to both girls being stunned and blushing messes due to his display of "pelvic sorcery".

* FriendlessBackground: Most of Class 1-A and Mischief Squad students share this in common. Izuku because nobody wanted to be friends with someone with a Quirk too weak for heroics; Ochako because she was poor; Fumikage because people were creeped out by his and Dark Shadow's appearance as well as his gothic personality; Momo because most people only saw her as means to get through her family and their wealth; Shoto because Endeavor never saw the point of letting him get close to others and Hitoshi because of his "villainous Quirk", and the fact he is a descendant of Killgrave.

** Whatever Nezu did to Izuku for messing up with his tea was so bad, Izuku had to sign an NDA.

* OneSteveLimit: There's Thirteen, the Space Hero, and Thirteen, Izuku's LiteralSplitPersonality that embodies his love for Ochako. The narration specifically refers to them as "Hero Thirteen" and "Decoy Thirteen" even when they are not in the same scene. Although, during their fight at the Final Exams, [[TrollingCreator the author purposely kept it vague just to mess with the readers. He said the winner was Thirteen.]]

** Gorr. No one expected the God Butcher to still be alive centuries after his last appearance, so his galaxy-wide RoaringRampageOfRevenge catches everyone off guard. Even Loki, one of the biggest masterminds in the story admits he did not Gorr's sudden appearance throws a wrench on his carefully planned schemes.

They can let you see a world you've never seen before, bring ideas to life, keep you company on lonely nights, let a little girl know that the world isn't as bleak as she thinks. ** Dictator is one Hitoshi. Both have Quirks that allow them to control people (Hitoshi has CompellingVoice, Dictator has PeoplePuppets) and grew up being mistreated over their "Villainous Quirks", but as Hitoshi points out, Dictator gave up and just proved what the others said to right by embracing villainy, while Hitoshi continued fighting no matter how hard the path mad itself to him.

* TwoPersonLoveTriangle: Colossus is unaware that his girlfriend, Nemuri Kayama, is actually his co-worker Midnight, and the R-Rated Hero takes a lot of amusement in teasing him with her persona at work. Ultimately subverted, since both of them are simply trolling their co-workers.

** The League seems far closer to each than they were before the Kamino arc, thanks to Hirona not being as much of a manchild overdependent on All for One like Tomura was in early canon. [[spoiler:Special mention goes to Dabi and Daken, who both want to kill their hero fathers.]]

** After defeating Mustard, two figures approach Izuku to help him get up, which confuses the villain because both his and Izuku's illusions dissipated when they knocked each other out and said figures turn out to be [[spoiler:Himiko and Compress,]] who seem to be in very friendly terms with the trickster.

** Izuku unlocks his ability to fire energy blasts just as he and Bakugo are about to be crushed by an out of control ship during the Trainning Camp.

** Tenko's mother Nao is the only other person of his family other than Hana that he regrets killing. He still resents his grandparents for just standing there and letting his father abuse him, and as for the man himself, the boy doesn't even spare a thought about.
** Mustard's parents locked him on the basement of their house out of fear of his Quirk. Spinner's parents were the same, ashamed of his heteromorph looks, and Himiko's parents kicked her out of the house. In fact, most of the younger members of the League bond over this.
* AccidentalDiscovery: [[ZigzaggedTrope Maybe not so accidental]], given that it was one of Nezu's goals, but during the Guardians Trainning Camp arc, [[spoiler:Cosmo ends up reading Aoyama's mind and discovers he is the U.A. Traitor.]]
* AccidentalMisnaming: Upon learning the story behind the Infinity Stones and the Multiverse, Denki confuses the Thanos' name with, Thermos", "Thermometer" and "Thanatos".

** While everyone is stressed out during the I-Island attack, [[TheComicallySerious Shoto]] quips that after USJ and Hosu, villain attacks have become quite mundane, which is why he is not at all nervous with the situation. That actually helps to lighten up the mood and the students thank Shoto for it.

** Odin implies that an Infinity Stone may be responsible for the existance of Quirks.

** Since Mineta is not a hero student here, Denki is Izuku's friend and a member of his group of instead Bakugo's.
** All of Tenko's relationships here, since he is a hero student. He is Izuku's friend, All Might's successor and Tsuyu's love interest.

** Not only Izuku inherited his father illusion powers, he is also a skilled fighter, expert on knife-fighting. [[spoiler:By the time of the Sports Festival, he also learned how to use his cryokinetic powers, courtesy of his Frost Giant ancestry.]] Izuku also possesses a scepter containing the Reality Stone as well.

** Momo is far more StrongAndSkilled than her canon self thanks to her trainning with Izuku for the Final Exams.

** Kyoka gains Quake's gaunlets during I-Island, which not only increase the efficiency and power of her sonic blasts, but also negates any damage to her sensible hearing.

** Danjuro Tobita is a Pro Hero called Gentle Hero and Manami Aiba is his sideckick.

** Despite all his noble claims, Wolfram reveals himself as a SuperSupremacist who wishes to get rid of remaining Quirkless people left on the world.
* AdaptationalLocationChange: Due to Hirona's attack at Pussycats base comprimised the Beast Forest, Nezu arranges for the first years Trainning Camp to happen at Knowhere.
* AdaptationalModesty: After the Internships, Momo and Toru gain new hero suits made of Unstable Molecules which can adapt to go along with their Quirks and properly cover their bodies.
* AdaptationalNationality:

** Tenko unlocks Blackwhip instead of Super Strenght after gaining One for All.
** Instead of being poisonus, Mustard's gas can cause hallucinations.

** In the ''Two Heroes'' movie, Wolfram was simply a mercenary seeking money by stealing the Power Amplifier, a very FlatCharacter. Here he is the leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants, grew up being persecuted for being different, and seeks to carry on Magneto's legacy. Ultimately {{subverted}} when he reveals himself to be a SuperSupremacist even worse than Magneto who wishes to destroy the Quirkless because "their existance oppresses people like him."
** Mustard's motivations for villainy are somehow vague in canon, with the closest thing to an explanation being he is resentful towards hero students for receiving proper trainning and control from schools. Here, he was locked at his house's basement from a young age since his parents were afraid of his Quirk.

** {{Zigzagged}}. While most of the gods from Omnipotence City most likely had their punishment coming (they were going to execute Stain for simply entering the city) you can't but feel sorry as they are all brutally slaughtered by Gorr. Special mention to Zeus who dies while holding Hercules dead body on his arms.

* AlienNonInterferenceClause: Odin's Law, which prevent Asgard from interfering with any conflicts of the Nine Realms. Breaking it is considered treason, no matter for what intention. [[spoiler:As Heimdall unfortunetaly finds out after I-Island.]]
* AllAnimalsAreDogs: The Nomu behaves a lot like a monstruous super-powered dog after becoming Izuku's pet.
* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: PlayedWith. As Hirona points out, the League's invasion at Knowhere is not to take the station, nor kill the heroes or even win, but to take and punish who they think deserve. As such, they destroy the Spirit Tree, cause prison riot and use the Nomus and their members to wipe out any resistance on their way.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: One of the sour points for Hirona that they are always compared unfavourably to their brother by All for One.

* AndThatLittleGirlWasMe: [[spoiler:Thor attempts to invoke this during his talk with Denki by recalling the story of a "certain spoiled brat prince who was immature, brash, quick to anger, and thought himself above others that learned that before becoming a great king, he needed to be a good man" but accidentally falls halfway through it by refferring to himself during said talk. Nevertheless, Denki understands what his father means, and thanks him for the advice.]]

** Hirona is combination of the NobleDemon and the {{Woobie}} variety. She wants revenge against [[spoiler:Tenko for killing her, the society that left her saved him and not her]], but is very clear she deep on there she doesn't fully hates him. It is also clear she hates to work for All for One who [[spoiler:brought her back to life]] and is using her as his weapon.
** David, per canon. His attempts to help the world and keep the peace All Might built are rooted in genuine good intentions. [[spoiler:Unfortunetaly, this leads to the of a monstruous A.I. that seeks the end of humanity. This is eventually subverted, when it's revealed that the real David has been replaced by a Skrull.]]

** The Final Exams have the teachers acting as opponents against the students, until they are defeated halfway through the arc and are replaced by Hawks.

** The Guardians Trainning Camp arc has the Vanguard Action Squad attacking Knowhere, [[spoiler:with Kraven, Taskmaster and Daken]] standing out as the most dangerous enemies, in addition to the Nomus that weren't used in Hosu.

** Izuku gives one to Nighteye, making him realize that for all his plans for when Mirio accepted One for All, he never once considered ''if'' Mirio would acccept the Quirk, which he doesn't.

** Izuku's scepter, which contains the Reality Stone, is the most powerful weapon of his arsenal. It's also highly dangerous and without proper trainning and control, it can turn its user into a DrunkWithPower megalomaniac.

** Denki is far prominent on the story than his canon counterpart, being one of Izuku's friends [[spoiler:and his cousin.]]

** The USJ Nomu, thanks to being brainwashed into being Izuku's servant, not only remains in the story after the USJ arc, but also becomes Eri's caretaker and bodyguard.

** Both her and Mina get to live this dream when the hero students are taken to Knowhere for the Guardians Trainning Camp.

** PlayedStraight with Wolfram and Muscular. [[spoiler:While gruesome, no one will feel sorry for a bigot being lobtomized and brainswashed, or a psychotic killer being left paraplegic.]]
* AssimilationPlot: [[spoiler:Ultron's EvilPlan. Using a virus named after him, the android intends to cyberform anyone that comes in contact with it, turning its victims into extensions of his consicence.]]
* AstralProjection: Amongst the powers Izuku inherited from Loki, the ability to project his conscienceness off his body is one of them.

* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Invoked by Thor in order to help Aizawa to deal with Izuku. According to him there are three methods to help distract the young trickster: First, distract him with something to occupy his mind, whether is a task or appealing to his inner hero fanboy; Second is to direct him to someone else and pray for forgiveness later; the final one is to tease him about Ochako, but this one is not completely foolproof.

** Hilariously {{averted}} with his food taste. [=KageNekem=] hates black chocolate, often having characters describing it as gross and saying white chocolate is better. He even has Tenko to dust a black chocolate bar in chapter 60 just because.

** [[spoiler:Somehow, Ultron was brought back to existance, although it's clear if David Shield is the main responsible for it. Ultimately {{subverted}} since according to him, Ultron never died to begin with.]]

* BaitAndSwitch: Briefly during Chapter 8, and later on Chapter 29, Izuku is watching videos from Gentle's channel. At first it may sound odd a hero student to watching a villain's channel, only for Chapter 35 reveal that Gentle is actually a hero in this story.

* BarrierWarrior: Besides Gentle, Hirona's Quirk, Force Field Manipulation, allows her to create air membranes that can act as barriers and plataforms.

** Izuku pulls one during the Sports Festival: Realizing his team is on disadventage, he has Mei to hit Shoto's team with a flashbang grenade, and in the middle of the confusion shapeshift himself and his teammates into Todoroki's teammates and vice-versa. This causes Todoroki to freeze his team and nearly gets him knocked out by Izuku's.

* BeyondTheImpossible: Doctor Doom is capable of not only detecting Izuku and Stange's presence on his castle from inside the Mirror Dimension as soon they teleport to it, but promptly kicks them out said castle without even showing his face.

** Wolfram. At first it seems like he is strong and fearsome leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants, ready to carry out Magneto's legacy, only for him to be immeadiatly DemotedToDragon once [[spoiler:Ultron makes himself known.]]
** Mustard. He attempts to come off as the ultimate MasterOfIllusion, superior to Izuku in every possible way and villain that should be feared as much as anyone, but despite all his preparations and upgrades, as well his claims of superioirity, he barely quailifies as a UnknownRival.

** Multiple times during the Hosu arc. First Tenko arrives to save Tenya from Stain, followed Izuku and Shoto, then followed by [[spoiler:Tensei, as the Ghost Rider,]] who takes on Gorr, ''then'' by Denki, Ochako and Mirio.
** Mei and her Iron Man controlled suits arrive just in time to save the hostages at the I-Expo from being executed by [[spoiler:Ultron and the Iron Legion]], even though they fail to save Izuku, All Might, David and Vision from being taken.

** Eri and Laura bond over their traumatic childhood of being experimented on by mad scientists and love for... stabbing bad guys.

** Nezu and Rocket immeadiatly hit a partnership over their past of being experimented on labs, being super intelligent AnimalSuperHeroes and lead their respective groups.

** Shoto says he actually enjoys black olives in pizza. Izuku can help but feel betrayed with his friend's weird taste.
** Tenko seems to be only person in Mischief Squad that likes dark chocolate and finds anyone who likes the white one crazy. This one is an inside joke between [=KageNekem=] and his editor [=JustaPerson1=].

* BlackAndWhiteInsanity: Vlad King is so adamant about Izuku's alledged connection with the League, he pretty much gets Monoma and other 1-B students to go on a witch hunt against Izuku during the Sports Festival and try to force a confession out of him, which only fails because of the timely arrival of Izuku's team.

* BloodSport: It is a costume that everytime I-Island passes by Japan, they "loan" a dangerous inmate from Tartarus for some kind of modern high-tech gladiator battle. The prisioner chosen for this year's was Muscular.

** Wolfram executes Miura Takashi, the head of the I-Island Board of directors like this, when the man refuses to give him access to vault and the inventions inside of it.

* BreatherEpisode: Each arc has small arc to fill gaps between the next ones, mostly composed of SliceOfLife and setting for upcoming plotlines:

** Chapters 59 and 62 fill the gaps between the I-Island and Guardians Trainning Camp arc.

** Hiromi Yoshinaga, the girl with demon like appearance that Izuku saved from bullies when he was young appears back in chapter 36, having become a BullyHunter herself.

** Endeavor has become one as well, specially after Izuku finds out about his family life.

* CallBack: Chapter 50 has several to the first chapter, from Izuku dramatically introducing himself with his "Glorious Purpose" line upon arriving at a restaurant, only to be received by an unimpressed waitor, to the blue snakes he uses to scare everyone up, and finally, the bull-headed villain that his father beat up years prior showing up for a "rematch" and ending with Izuku saying "but where is the fun in that?".

* CastFromLifespan: WordOfGod mentions in one of the comments that the [[spoiler: [[RapidAging life force draining]] aspect of OFA on quirked people is not being adapted out. Is finally revealed during a training exercise after Hosu, as Tenko spits blood during a [[IncurableCoughOfDeath coughing fit]] that OFA is beginning to affect him.]]

** [[spoiler:Loki's suggestion for Izuku to use the Bifrost to prank his teachers eventually becomes this when he reveals to Ultron it was part of subliminar idea for Izuku to unintentionally force Heimdall to interfere with crisis on Earth (in this case, the destruction of I-Island) and get the watcher removed from his post, thus helping his and Thanos's agenda.]]
** While at first it seems like Inko scolding Izuku to not take his pranks too far seems like a reasonable lesson from a parent to their child, it's actually pointed out that the last time one Loki's pranks went too far (he faked a bomb explosion in New York) it caused the Hulk to go on a rampage and got several people injured.

** The Dark Elf's sword and rifle that Izuku adquires after the USJ. Izuku keeps the sword and later uses it during his fight against Stain, while the rifle ends up on Mei's hands, who reverse engineers it and uses during the Battle of Hosu.
** The Ten Rings. They are only mentioned briefly during the beginning of the Hosu arc before Gunhead grabs and handles them to Ochako during the Berserkers invasion. Ochako manages to activate them to save Izuku while facing off Gorr.
** During their threeway fight, Nagant fires a bullet with KnockOutGas against Gentle, who manages to seal it in one of his membranes. Said membrane is destroyed by the [[spoiler:Ghost Rider's flaming vortex]], and the gas is inhaled by Stain.

Since his illusions are not particularly powerful, when facing an opponent, Izuku relies on making decoys of himself, shapeshifting, invisibility, trash talking and tossing as many knives as possible. As his friend points out, "being unpredictable, makes him predictable" meaning that he needs to learn to adapt and use every tool and knowledge of his arsenal in a fight, not just what Loki taught him. {{Reconstructed}} during his internship with Gentle, where Izuku learns how integrate his scpeter [[spoiler:and ice powers as well]] to his orignal fighting style, improving it immensely.
* ConspiracyTheorist: Shoto, per usual. Aside from his "secret love child" gag, he also makes a lot of research about magic and alien subjects.
* ContinuityNod: Izuku and Ochako have a discussion in Chapter 65 over how it would be if TheMultiverse was a shaped like a tree, with each of its branches being a different reality, almost like Yggdrasil. Izuku considers it to be a rather sad idea if it were true, since the main point of Yggdrasil is a single person, watching and guarding all of its worlds, all by themselves. * CultOfPersonality: The High Evolutionary has one in the remnants of the Orgocorp, a fanatical cult dedicated to continue his unhinged vision to create "a perfect universe". They are the ones responsible for smuggling the League to Knowhere during the Guardians Trainning Camp arc.

* CripplingOverspecialization: Izuku suffers from a case of due to his blind worship for Loki, relying solely on what his father's teachings, such as working alone, relying on his tricks and trying to control all variables in field. This comes backs to bite him during the Sports Festival when Monoma and other 1-B gang up on him and nearly beat him down to get a false confession over his alledged connection with the League. This also costs him during his match at the Finals, because as Denki points out, being unpredictable makes him predictable. Interestingly enough, it is by going against his father's wishes [[spoiler:and learning how to control his Cryokinesis]], that he manages to beat Shoto, which marks another step for his CharacterDevelopment.

** Given the premise of the story, Loki is married to Inko Midoriya, and is Izuku's father.

** Piotr Rasputin/Colossus is Midnight's boyfriend, although he doesn't is Nemuri Kayama's secrety identity.

* CrossoverVillainInChief: Most, if not all Marvel villains count as such. While All for One remains just as menacing as he is in canon, his power level pales in comparison to cosmic threats like like Gorr, Thanos, [[spoiler:Mephisto and Ultron.]]

* DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou: [[spoiler:Thor blames the long list of enemies he made as Prince of Asgard and as an Avenger for not being able to be present on Denki's life growing up. ** Izuku gives Gorr a massvive TheReasonYouSuckSpeech, calling him out on his hypocritical rampage, saying he is even worse than the gods he murders.
** The young trickster does it again with [[spoiler:Ultron]] during the I-Island arc, when his forces begin to be overwhelmed by the hero students, by pointing out that for someone who hates humans so much, his behaviour is awfully similar to one.

** While Hirona takes Kota hostage in order to force Ragdoll to give her Nagant's location, as soon as the hero complies, she releases the boy, saying she doesn't hurt kids. She also doesn't let Kurogiri take Ragdoll to All for One steal her Quirk, even though she is in a perfect position for it.

** Nighteye only manages to convince Gran Torino to U.A. and check Mirio for a possible candidate for One for All after bribing him tayaki and a car to take him to the school.
** While planning on how to get the teachers schedule over what the final exams will about, Izuku bribes Kyoka with tickets for Luna Snow's concert. She agrees.

** Izuku and Momo attempt to bring Itsuka to their respective factions of the Prank War with different promises: Izuku and Momo promises to buy her a new motocycle, Momo promises a costumized one; Izuku promises to have Mei to make new parts for the one Itsuka is working at, Momo says ''she'' will make the new pieces on spot, and so on.
* EvilIsNotAToy: Much like Hank Pym before him, [[spoiler:David Shield attempted to use Ultron as a mean to preserve the world's peace once All Might is gone. As soon as the scientist activates it to save him and his friends from the Brotherhood mercenaries attacking I-Expo, the malevolent A.I. immeadiatly betrays his ressurector and sets in motion his plan for the extinction of humankind.]]

* FightingAcrossTimeAndSpace: Izuku and Stange's duel in chapter 62 jumps back and fourth across several locations from the Marvel Universe. They start at the Avengers facility, then to New York, Savage Land, The Raft, Atlantis, Joutunheim, the Sanctum Sanctorum, Latveria, a SHIELD Helicarrier and back to the Avengers base.

** Izuku acknowledges that while gods treatment of Gorr and the villain's daughter death were horrible and he did not deserve it, it's not enough to justify his RoaringRampageOfRevenge.

** Shortly after the Battle Trials, Denki mentions to have a cousin that he hasn't met yet. The description also mentions his eyes are blue instead of golden like in canon. [[spoiler:Later chapters reveal this is a case of StrongFamilyResemblance between him and his father Thor, making Izuku the cousin he didn't knew about.]]

** Izuku. Being the son of the God of Mischief leads to him take fun my getting on people's nerves.

** As expected from the God of Mischief, Loki always has fun on the expense of others, especially Ebony Maw.
** While all the modern day Avengers love to mess with Strange, Miguel is always the biggest example of it.

* GenerationXerox: Izuku is one to Loki. Much like his father, he discriminated for being different (Izuku for having a weak Quirk, Loki for being a Frost Giant), and as his flashback reveals, he and Inko met similarly to to Izuku and Ochako: He tripped on his feet and and she stopped him from falling with her Quirk.
* GivingUpOnLogic: Even after learning about aliens and magic, Eraserhead still manages to keep his cool and navigate trough these new discoveries... at least until he meets Cosmo, the Guardians' telepathic russian dog. Then he just gives up and begs for a drink.

** Izuku sics both All Might and his newly controled Nomu against the Kursed Dark Elf during the USJ.
** During the Final Exams, Izuku takes advantage of the fact that the rules did not forbid outside help and asks Thor to take on All Might.

First he arranges for Eri to escape Overhaul's clutches, then he invades an American military facility and kills all its staff, not to mention his alliance with All for One and Thanos. Whatever is this object, he claims is to make a better world for Izuku and Inko.

** Kitty is one for the Guardians, an exchange student between the team and the X-Men.

* InLoveWithYourCarnage: When Tenko mentions how he intends to brutalize any CRC (a hate group that targets mutants), Tsu leave an... excited "ribbit" in the group chat. Tenko is left embarassed by this.

* InnocentlyInsensitive: {{Zigzagged}}. Izuku was deliberately trying to rile the League up during his opening speech at the Sports Festival. However he had no idea that by saying that Hirona, who had to endure a lifetime of abuse at the hands of All for One, doesn't matter makes him sound like an apathethic jerk making fun of Hirona's trauma, which only makes her hatred for him grow further.
* IWillOnlySlowYouDown: PlayedForLaughs. Tsu makes very clearly she will kick Tenko's ass if he injures himself trainning or at patrol. After being injured by Stain and saved by his friends, Izuku points out that Tenko's SOS went on their group chat, which means Tsu definitely saw it. Tenko tells Izuku to leave him behind.
* IWorkAlone: {{Deconstructed}}. Loki's trainning to Izuku taught him to not trust nor rely on others so he can always have control of his surroundings. This mentality falls apart pretty fast, mainly during the Sports Festival, when Izuku is ambushed by the 1-B mob and nearly injured before his teammates show up to save him. Ochako's positive influence also helps him realize that is okay to ask for help when you need it.
* IReadItForTheArticles: Thor casually mentions that Loki told him about the Wild Wild Pussycats magazine that Izuku keeps on his room for articles. Denki makes fun of him of it, until Thor mentions that he knows the young boy has a Mt. Lady magazine (Christmas edition with a holiday spread) on his room, embarassing him as well.

** Izuku calling him out forces Nighteye to realise he did not take into account Mirio's opinion on whether he wants to be All Might's successor or not.
** Bakugo has one during the Sports Festival. Seeing Monoma copying his Quirk and using it to hurt Izuku causes him snap and beat the hell out of copycat, while at the same calling himself out on his attitude.
** Shinso has one during his time hanging out with Mischief Squad. Having spent his entire life being mistreated because of his Quirk, as well as being related to a villain, he already expects the worse out of people before even meeting them properly, which is exactly what others did to him.
* JerkassToOne: Inko may be an all around sweetheart, but she really can't stand Deadpool. Given how much of a bad influence he can be to her son, is totally justified.

* KnightOfCerebus: In true Marvel fashion, [[spoiler:[[OmnicidalManiac Ultron]]. From the moment the villainous A.I. is ''mentioned'' back in chapter 48, all lightheartdness of the story gradually falls down until it disappears completely during the I-Island arc. To immeadiatly establish himself as threat like no other the story presented so far, brainwashes Wolfram, kills Sam and all the Brotherhood mercenaries at the Expo in the most brutal and bloody way possible before setting off to enact a genocidal scheme to destroy humanity. By the end of the arc, not only he is the first major villain (besides Loki), to effectively defeat the Heroes, he is still loose on the world, thanks Loki's arrival.]]

** How the students win the match against [[spoiler:Ghost Rider]] during the Final Exams. Being the strongest opponent left with All Might defeated, Momo and Izuku slowly make their way to ruined gate and pass through it instead of fighting him.
* ALadyOnEachArm: An accidental and {{Downplayed}} example, but while listening to music together during their break, Shoto finds himself with Kyoka on his right side and Momo on his left one.

** In Chapter 37, during Mischief Squad talk during their chat, Tenko jokes that Izuku has taken so long to answer his text, it feels like a week. The story is released on a weekly, or often bi-weekly schedule.
** [=KageNekem=] mentions that during the League's trip to Knowhere, Himiko was supposed to joke over how it feels like they have been travelling for over a month, but forgot to add it. There was 6 week break between Chapters 66 and 67.
* LetsGetDangerous: During his match against Mei during the Sports Festival, Tenko grabs a pair of electrified wires in order to decay them. It works. And gains both him and All Might a lecture from Recovery Girl about its recklesness.
* LiteralSplitPersonality: Whenever Izuku loses control of his emotions, his Decoys, each one representing an aspect of his personality, manifest. So far the revealed personas are: Two, Confidence; Three, Logic; Four, the Prankster; Five, Guilt; Six, Hunger, which could also mean hunger for power; Eight, Anxiety; Nine, Deprerssion; Ten, Anger; Eleven, Self-Sacrifice; Twelve, the Analyst; and Thirteen, Love, more specifically his love for Ochako.

** During the Quirk Assessment Test, Izuku finds a lot of loopholes to use. During the Ball Throw, Aizawa says he must stay in the circle. So Izuku enlarges the circle to include Ochako for her to throw the ball for him.
** During the Heroes vs Villains exercise, All Might says the participants can use any resource they want. The only rules are they cannot do excessive harm. So Izuku has a projection be in the monitor room so he can see where everyone is during his round.

** Mustard, whose Quirk not only causes people to have hallucinations, but also like Mysterio, uses holographic drones to make his illusions realistic.

** Denki realises his name meaning "Thunder" is rather on the nose for his electricity powers and deduces it was on purpose on his father's part. This prompts him to pick "Raikou" the japanese god of thunder as his hero name. Although it kinda backfires that is also the name of a Pokemon.

** Hirona's name means "Help from God", which fits since [[spoiler:Loki was the one to ressurect her.]]
** [[spoiler:To fit Mephisto's bad sense of humor, his alias as doctor on Hosu Hospital is Akama Reiwaru. "Akama" has kanji for "Red, devil", while "Reiwaru" means "Spirit, evil".]]

* MexicanStandoff: One happens during the Hosu arc between Gentle, Stain and Nagant.

* MistakenForGay: During Izuku's livestream with Gentle, people think he is dating Shoto or Bakugo. Shoto, always inept, thinks dating is somehow related to Izuku's alien origins and Bakugo... says that Izuku would be lucky to date somone like him. Everyone is weirded out.

** Shoto still believes Izuku is someone's secret love child, except in here is Star and Stripe instead of All Might.
** During the second event he often get distracted over the thought that his classmates are related to international heroes: He thinks Hatsume is related to Iron Man, Iida to Quicksilver and Sero to Spider-Man. He even promises to get Endeavor's credit card to buy a mobile board so he can write down his theories.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: The heroes didn't realized that the Power Stone was so... well, powerful, that it recquired the strenght of all the other five stones to be destroyed until after the Mind, Space and Time Stones were already destroyed, leaving them stuck with Power, Soul and Reality ones. Ultimately {{subverted}}, as it was actually part of Thanos' BatmanGambit, who hid the Stone as part of his long scheme plan to use them.

** [[SarcasmMode Sure, Hirona. Brag about how you are the only person capable of controlling your ultra powerful bio-weapon in front of a shapeshifter, that's not going to come back and ruin you.]]
** A villain to villain example. In order to stop Nighteye from getting too close to Thor and by extension himself, Loki arranges the creation of a villain (Absorbing Man) and sends him on planetary rampage, forcing Thor go leave Earth to stop him. Unfortunetaly, this happens at the very same time when Gorr arrives to enact his RoaringRampageOfRevenge leaving Earth defenseless against the God Butcher and nearly getting Izuku killed in the process.

* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Bakugo and Izuku's match during the Sports Festival evolves into this, to the point Izuku forgoes using his illusions and goes straight into beating each other up, since he promised to give Bakugo a fair fight, no tricks or gimmicks.

** [[spoiler:Thor forgetting Mjölnir on the toilet back at his family's home is an often ocurrence, much to Denki's annoyance when he needs to use it.]]
** At some point in the past, Izuku and Deadpool stole the X-Jet to go to a taco place on the west coast of the United States that was closing soon and needed to get there fast. Thankfully, the jet was pulled back to the mansion before they could go further.

* OffingTheOffspring: [[spoiler:Nighteye has a vision of a possible future where Loki seemingly kills Izuku when the boy refuses to join him on his plans. It could an alternate timeline, or the Izuku that died in his vision is actually one of his clones.]]

* PlayfulHacker: Mei, unbelievably so. She manages to single handedly hack her way into I-Island security and not only invades get herself free access for the island and all of it's locations, but she also takes control of ''all'' the decomissioned Iron Man suits at the Stark exposition.
* PowerMisidentification: Izuku's power is officially listed as Quirk that creates illusions, but that is a deception to hide the fact he can do much more than that, and the fact that it is not in fact a Quirk at all.

* SympathyForTheDevil: While Izuku acknowledges that Gorr's actions are monstruous and unforgivable, he can't help but sympathize with villain's tragedy, going as far as to apologize to him for what happened to his family.
* TalkingToThemself: Literally, in this case. Izuku has a number of illusion decoys which embody different aspects of his personality and he is often found speaking with them.

** During their confrontation at the USJ, Hirona asks Tenko if he saw the newest american hero movie. She says it was good, but it had too many jokes and the villain was completely wasted. These just happen to be the author's opinion about ''Film/ThorLoveAndThunder''.

* TookALevelInBadass: The Class 1-A students that did not gained power-ups manage to keep with the ones who did by the time of the Final Exams. Momo is the best example of it, standing up against Izuku.

** It's subtle, but after the Sports Festival, Bakugo starts to go through it. First taking therapy sessions to manage his anger, then choosing to rescue the civillians rather than fight the monsters during the attack on Hosu and finally cooperating with his classmates during the Finals.
** The events on Hosu give Monoma and the 1B students that attacked Izuku a wake up call, prompting them to apologize to Izuku. Monoma says he will apologize as well when makes peace with his mistake.
* TrojanHorse: How the League manages to infiltrate Knowhere. They hijack a scouter ship, torture the access codes out of the pilots and bypass security.
* TwoPersonLoveTriangle: Colossus is unaware that his girlfriend, Nemuri Kayama, is actually his co-worker Midnight, and the R-Rated Hero takes a lot of amusement on teasing him with her persona at work. Ultimately subverted, since the both of them are simply trolling their co-workers.

* UnconventionalLearningExperience: InUniverse example. Tenko's love for video games eventually helps him figure it out how to properly activate and use One for All. As he points out:

* VillainHasAPoint: From one villain to another, Stain points out the dichotomy in Gorr's plan to kill Odin. If the gods, including Odin, are as uncaring as he claims, he would not be moved to save his grandchildren that Gorr plans to target. Gorr reacts with silence before claiming it does not matter.

** There is a major villain alliance happening between Loki, All for One, Thanos and [[spoiler:the Skruls.]]
** Stain and Gorr team up to get the rid of all gods and false heroes in the universe.
* VillainsActHeroesReact: Hirona exploits this during Sports Festival. Since most of the heroes are either guarding U.A. or watching it from home, she decides to make her move and prove the League is a threat to watch out for by saving and recruiting Lady Nagant to their group.

** Downplayed with Gorr and Stain. Stain regards Gorr as a partner in his crusade to purge the world of false heroes, but is disturbed by his sadistic and psychotic behaviour.
** The League seems far closer to each than they were prior the Kamino arc, thanks Hirona not being as much of a manchild overdependant of All for One like Tomura was in early canon. [[spoiler:Special mention goes to Dabi and Daken, who both want to kill their hero fathers.]]

* VileVillainSaccharineShow: The story may be a little upsetting at some points, but is primarily a comedy with plenty of SliceOfLife sprinkled through it, with main villains like Hirona and Loki receiving room to show their HiddenDepths. Other villains, however, really make the story take a dark turn.
** Gorr is the first genuine threat faced by the students, his galatic rampage leaving bodies behind, his wicked sense of humour and his willingness to destroy anyone for the sake of his revenge make him a perfect example of it. He brutally murders Yoroi Musha during the Internships arc and laughs of it.

** [[spoiler:Ultron. From the moment he is ''mentioned'' by David Shield, all levity from the story vanishes, or at the very least is diminished. Then he debuts during I-Island arc, and everything about him is seriously PlayedForHorror.]]

** Izuku is this to a fault, for as much as he loves being a hero, his worship for his father is something he craves the most. Unfortunately, this is also a major FatalFlaw that Loki exploits in to manipulate his son for his schemes.
** Hirona is example of it, deseperately attempting to gain All for One's respect and show how much better than Tenko she is. It isn't until Nagant shows up and acts as ParentalSubstitute that she stops trying to impress the mastermind.

** Chapter 29 - Anyone: [[spoiler:The Skrulls are revealed to be part of the VillainTeamUp between Loki, Thanos and All for One, and if that wasn't bad enough, they have ''already'' infiltrated several levels of society, mainly the HPSC. And is revealed that Vlad King did not went through a case of AdaptationalJerkass, but was rather a mole inside U.A., and despite being out of the school, there at least a couple more of infiltrators inside U.A.]]
** Chapter 39 - And He Shall Appear: We find out who is the man who showed in the last chapter cliffhanger: [[spoiler:Tensei Iida. Flashbacks to earlier explain what actually happened: Doctor Reiwaru is revealed to be none other than Mephisto, the Devil from the Marvel Universe. He also reveals he was the one to give Tenya the Ebony Blade, just to get revenge on Loki by targeting his son's friends. He promises Tensei to give his legs back and the power to save Tenya from Gorr in exhcange for his soul, which Tensei agrees, becoming the new Ghost Rider.]]
** Chapter 42 - Smooth Sailing from Here on Out: [[spoiler:Tensei becomes a member of U.A. staff in order to learn how to better use his Ghost Rider powers, and Nezu fabricates an entire fake story to cover it up. And while Stain's MotiveRant still brings the same familiar faces to the League (plus Mustard, who seems to be taking inspiration from Mysterio for his costume), it appears they will be joined by outside villains as well: Taskmaster, Daken and Kraven the Hunter.]]
** Chapter 48 - What You Started, Part 3: Wolfram is revealed to be in charge of the Brotherhood of Mutants, as well as in possession of Magneto's helmet. Meanwhile, it turns out I-Island has several items from the Marvel Universe located on the tower vault, inclunding [[spoiler:a pair of symbiotes (black and red, specifically), Doc Ock, Rhino, Whiplash, Vulture and Green Goblin's suits, Juggernaut's helmet, a vial of super soldier serum, another one of Goblin formula, and a radioactive spider.]] And the biggest reveal of it all: [[spoiler:David ditched the idea of the Power Amplifier... in favor of an idea a million times worse: The Ultron Program.]]

** Chapter 54 - Tomorrow: Wolfram and the Brotherhood begin their attack on I-Island. After they killed the head of the I-Island Board of directors, David activates [[spoiler:Ultron.]] [[spoiler:The android quickly turns the table against all of the envolved parties, lobotomizing Wolfram, as well as killing Sam and all the Brotherhood mercenaries left. He then captures Izuku, All Might, David and Vision before broadcasting a message throughout the island stating that Doomsday has arrived for them.]]
** Chapter 56 - Cheat Code, Part 1: [[spoiler:It's revealed how Fumikage survived his mortal wounds after the following chapter: The boy was chosen by Konshu to become the new Moon Knight and immeadiatly returns to fight by taking down the remaining Brotherhood members left on the I-Island. And Ultron implies he is somehow related to Izuku, raising the implication that Loki is somehow connected to the android's return.]]
** Chapter 58 - Cheat Code, Part 3: Also known as the first GameChanger chapter of the story so far. [[spoiler:With Tenko's help, all the remaining physical copies of Ultron are destroyed. Victory, however, is short lived, as it turns out that while the heroes were destroying his bodies, the android has successfully uploaded his consciousness into the I-Island servers, taking complete control of it and destroying the evacuation ship that was supposed to take the students back to mainland. [[FromBadToWorse And if things weren't bad enough]], the United Nations plane that is in route to the island is not going there to save the survivors, but to ''destroy'' I-Island, since Ultron's return makes him too much of a threat to be allowed to live, even if it costs the lives of All Might, Vision and the hero students. Loki arrives at the island as the destruction begins, and confirms that he was, indeed, responsible for Ultron's return, through David Shield. Or rather, the Skrull ''pretending'' to be David Shield. The God of Mischief strikes a deal with Ultron, offering him access to Adamantium and Sentinel Project in order to improve himself in exchange for help to achieve his agenda. Just as the island is about to be wiped out, Izuku decides to pull his trump card and calls Heimdall for help. The watcher, even knowing that his actions can be regarded as treason, heeds the call and uses the Bifrost to teleport Izuku and his friends back to Japan, exposing his true nature as an alien to them, before the painful realization of their defeat sinks in.]]

** David drops a massive one by the end of Chapter 48, that serves for the sole purpose of instilling fear in the readers hearts after revealing he dropped the idea for the Quirk Amplifier.
