** Julius Meteuse is the oldest of Xander's siblings and possibly the most impressive. Skilled in all fields of magic, but specialised in one school, Alteration, he shows off his talents by easily [[spoiler:defeating Xander in a duel, and even killing a dragon.]] Xander admits that Julius is good at everything he tries, and praises him as a genius.[[spoiler: This becomes a substantial problem when the heroes need to defeat him]].

* BadassNormal: In a world of magic and monsters you’d have to be pretty tough to take it on. Enter Alexander, with stunted magicka reserves, unremarkable strength and barely any combat experience. However, with his bravery and genius mind, he continuously takes on powerful foes and triumphs, such as a skeletal dragon in Labyrinthian, as well as [[spoiler:Morokei the dragon priest. He goes from nearly getting killed by a single bandit to taking on his older siblings and winning in the span of months.]]

* ConflictingLoyalty: [[spoiler:This happens to Dulurza and Hjar, the former as she soon falls in love with Elisif the Fair (who she is meant to kill), and the latter as Hjar soon learns that the Forsworn she considers a family are at the behest of the Silver-Bloods, falling more in love with Margret, an Imperial spy.]]

** [[spoiler: Xander eventually becomes a 'conduit', able to channel the consciousness and power of a Daedric prince through himself. Shown off when he lets Azura temporarily take over his body, and the results are spectacular.]]

* GlassCannon: [[spoiler:Hjar can kick some serious ass, even when she's not in her werewolf form, but she does risk harming herself much more easily than the average human would with her Weakmarrow, which is basically brittle bones. For example, when she punches an orc in the face, she breaks her knuckles early in the story. Thankfully, transforming into a werewolf cures her accumulated damage, though it doesn't cure her condition. Xander later provides her with some flesh spells, allowing her to take more hits.]]

* ThirdPersonPerson: Like most Khajit, L’Laarzen speaks in third person, though she has switched into first on more than one occasion (often when it would make her sentence more dramatic).
