*** Agreed. The main problem seems to be that the Star Wars faction is radically more powerful in the story than in canon. For example, kicking the crap out of the Borg. Unless it has changed without my noticing, a single phaser from a starship can, in a few hours on a wide-beam setting, glass a planet. In Star Wars, this is called Base Delta Zero and takes far longer with far more ships firing everything they have. To be fair, Star Wars has hundreds of planets conquered by the Empire, however, the Empire builds very few ships and spreads them very thinly.
