Ariana claims Maria hates her guts, she's a bitch, etc., and yes, Maria does hate her, but [[FridgeLogic most of their conflicts are either started or made worse by Ariana herself.]] (Also, Maria's abuse is mostly verbal, whereas Ariana constantly threatens to attack Maria with her powers. Which she ''knows'' could kill someone.)
** PuritySue: Wise beyond her years, stunningly beautiful at age twelve, has super-rare powers, everyone she meets either loves her (the good guys/people the author likes) or wants to rape her (villains/people the author doesn't like).

* RonTheDeathEater: Ron himself is a bit dumber, but mostly spared. No, Draco gets hit with this worst, being turned from a relatively ineffectual jerk who eventually realized he wasn't cut out for the big leagues, to a pedophilic near-rapist.

* TheyJustDidntCare: At one point in the second story, Ariana outright admits she thinks she's better at everything than Maria, and that's the cause of Maria's jealousy. And yet the Author tries to claim she's not a MarySue...

* VillainDecay: Voldemort has gone from actually being a terrible threat in canon to the equivalent of an over-the-top mustache-twirler in this fic.

* NeverMyFault: Anthing bad or stupid Ariana does is ''never'' her fault. According to her (and usually the other characters as well), it was someone else's fault for goading her, or because of her ''Empath powers.'' A great example occurs in the seventh story, when [[spoiler:Ariana makes out with another boy behind Neville's back--''twice,'']] and both times she claims she didn't fight back because her Empath powers reacted to his love. She ''does'' say that it sounds more like she's making excuses, but then she never really tells herself it wasn't her powers either.

Over the course of seven fics, Ariana comes to Hogwarts, befriends all the characters that the author likes, discovers she is an "Empath," which therefore makes her very special and powerful, Voldemort decides she's more important than Harry and focuses on alternatively killing her or stealing her powers, and...that's really all there is. Except the author also decided to throw in {{Wangst}} out the wazoo, [[TastesLikeDiabetes sappy scene in which the main cast talks about how they'll be together forever and ever]] ([[ItsAllAboutMe for Ariana's sake]]), love melodrama...anything to pad the story out to seven fics.
