** Probably the best (and most infuriating) example is in the first story. She's angry at Sirius, her uncle, and hates him for supposedly killing Harry's parents ''not'' because he may have murdered innocent people, but because '''''she's''''' ''being bullied for being the niece of a criminal.''

* BlessedWithSuck: While Ariana's Empath powers are genuinely useful, she rarely gets enough use out of them (see UselessUsefulSpell below) to justify the horrible side-effects:
** Being near mood-altering spells or potions send her into potentially lethal fits.
** She can't help but feel the emotions around her. If the emotions are strong enough, they [[AndIMustScream start to override her own]], leading to a point where she effectively roofies herself when her friend confesses his love for her.
** Oh, yeah, and Voldemort wants kidnap to use her blood for an immortality potion, or so he can erase her will and use her as a political puppet, or various other excuses.

* TooDumbToLive: Ariana receives a (fake) letter from Sirius, telling her to meet him in Hogsmeade near an alley, alone--she ''believes it and does so.'' And then when Sirius himself never shows, Ariana wonders what's taking so long, right before getting kidnapped.

This is done after Voldemort has made several successful attempts to abduct her in the past, including last year, when Draco kidnapped both her and Harry the moment they left the company of their friends.

* DisneyDeath: Ariana drowns and is ''dead'' for at least five or seven minutes. No spells attempted work in reviving her, but [[CPRCleanPrettyReliable CPR]] ''does.'' The sporkers have pointed out in their MST that this is just not possible.possible, as if no ''spell'' could have revived her, then CPR wouldn't have a chance, and if she was ''dead'' for at least seven minutes then she's staying that way. And on the off-chance that she ''was'' revived, then she would have been brain-dead.

* NotBloodSiblings: Averted. Harry and Ariana are both adopted by Sirius and immediately start acting like they were biological siblings.

** Similarly, once she's introduced, Maria makes an appearance during every single train ride.

Added DiffLines:

Added DiffLines:

* UselessUsefulSpell: A rare non-video game example. Ariana's ability to sense emotions doesn't seem to help any time it's particularly needed. She can sense her friends sneaking up on her (some of the time), but always misses when somebody with hostile intentions is preparing to ambush her. She can sense how much Neville loves her, but was completely oblivious to Reginald's feelings until he confessed.

* CrowningMomentOfFunny: As the above-mentioned sporker points out, a bit of bad wording in an early fight scene indicates that [[FaceHeelTurn Neville attacked]] ''[[FaceHeelTurn Ron]]'' [[FaceHeelTurn rather than Crabbe and Goyle, for some reason.]]

* MarySue: Ariana, Ariana, [[RuleOfThree Ariana!]]
** BlackHoleSue: Everything is about her. All the characters seem to think about is how *insert terrible thing here* could affect ''Ariana.'' Hell, Voldemort even gives up on Harry so he can attack her instead!
** FixerSue: Sirius Black is proven innocent with her help, and she convinces both Ron and Harry to tell Hermione and Ginny, respectively, that they love them. ''Later'' she flat-out tells Harry to propose to Ginny, and he does.
** JerkSue: Has shades of this, especially concerning her rival, Maria. Ariana claims Maria hates her guts, she's a bitch, etc., and yes, Maria does hate her, but [[FridgeLogic most of their conflicts are either started or made worse by Ariana herself.]] (Also, Maria's abuse is mostly verbal, whereas Ariana constantly threatens to attack Maria with her powers. Which she ''knows'' could kill someone.)
** PuritySue: Wise beyond her years, stunningly beautiful at age twelve, has super-rare powers, everyone she meets either loves her (the good guys/people the author likes) or wants to rape her (villains/people the author doesn't like).
** RelationshipSue: For Neville.
** SympatheticSue: God, whine, whine, ''whine...''
** ThirtySuePileUp: Ariana, her friends, Maria and ''her'' friends, every damned Canon Character Ariana comes into contact with...

* RonTheDeathEater: Ron himself is a bit dumber, but mostly spared. No, Draco gets hit with this worst, being turned from a relatively ineffectual jerk who eventually realized he wasn't cut out for the big leagues, to a pedophilic near-rapist.

** One of the members on the Quiddich team is named [[CalvinAndHobbes Susie Derkins]].

* {{Squick}}: Draco Malfoy lusting after and attempting to molest/rape a ''first-year.''

* TheyJustDidntCare: At one point in the second story, Ariana outright admits she thinks she's better at everything than Maria, and that's the cause of Maria's jealousy. And yet the Author tries to claim she's not a MarySue...

* VillainDecay: Voldemort has gone from actually being a terrible threat in canon to the equivalent of an over-the-top mustache-twirler in this fic.
* {{Wangst}}: ''Dear lord'', '''''yes'''''!

* NeverMyFault: Anthing bad or stupid Ariana does is ''never'' her fault. According to her (and usually the other characters as well), it was someone else's fault for goading her, or because of her ''Empath powers.'' A great example occurs in the seventh story, when [[spoiler:Ariana makes out with another boy behind Neville's back--''twice,'']] and both times she claims she didn't fight back because her Empath powers reacted to his love. Harry, Ron, and Hermione all act like children instead of the adults they're supposed to be by the end of the fic, Sirius and Remus are man-children who still get into prank wars, Snape is a walking ball of {{Wangst}} who considers a fricking ''teenaged girl'' to be his closest friend, Neville is a [[TastesLikeDiabetes "romantic"]] prince, and Voldemort...well, see VillainDecay below.
