* {{Jerkass}}: Lalita Patel, introduced in Chapter 15, is one of Marinette's favourite supermodels and an apparent friend of Chloe, resulting in a severely BrokenPedastal when she insults Rabbit and Los Angeles in general in front of Jack. [[spoiler:The same chapter introduces Nymph, the Dragonfly Miraculous holder who similarly hates Rabbit (at least until she tells her a HalfTruth about why she left Los Angeles) and acts dismissively to the other heroes. [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold To her credit]], she still acts heroically during the Gravity Screw attack and seems to hate Chloe as much as everyone else, telling her that Lalita is probably only friends with her out of professional courtesy. On the other hand, while Ladybug knows that Rabbit is a good person, Marinette spends several chapters hating Jack out of misguided jealousy, believing she's interested in Adrien. At first, she just treats her coldly without explanation, both as Marinette (after she approaches Marinette for help with an outfit on Adrien's recommendation) and as Ladybug (after she saves Adrien during the Femme Defamation attack), but it also leads to a rift with Alya when she wants to interview Jack for the Ladyblog the next day. After a few weeks of this, Marinette schemes to set her up with a replica of Chloé's favourite outfit. When Alya and Marinette find out that Jack has a boyfriend back in the US, they both scramble to prevent her "social suicide", and Marinette admits that what she did was wrong and would still have been wrong even if she hadn't misread the situation with Adrien.

Rabbit recalls Ladybug telling her that Kwami DNA doesn't decompose, and realises Omega must have stolen the beacon to find them, and Hawkmoth sent an akuma to do the same thing.]]

Chat Noir accepts her explanation quickly enough, as does Ladybug when Chat tells her, but Rabbit is first mistaken for an akuma by the media and then for a supervillain in her own right. She does earn a few more defenders when she helps out civilians during the Road Rage attack, including Nino, but the media continue to question whether she's a hero or a menace. Alya even makes a Ladyblog video painting "Jack Hammer" as an agent of Hawk Moth, which persuades most of her class, some of whom have family members that were affected by the first "rampage". Alya eventually turns around on her after she helps save her from Cottontail and makes her a second video with the other heroes, but Rabbit still hasn't quite escaped her "Jack Hammer" reputation. And while she can't exactly blame them for it, it does get frustrating when it seems like they'd rather see an akuma than her coming to help.

* LimitedWardrobe: Subverted, in that a few characters who fall under this in the TV show apparently don't here. Chloé's usual outfit is described as her favourite, but she apparently doesn't wear it often enough for Jack to recognise it as such when Marinette makes a replica of it for her, nor does Adrien recognise it when he sees it on Jack. Elsewhere, when the subject of Adrien's modelling career comes up, he remarks that he'd wear the same outfit every day if he could.

Moving to a new place is hard enough for any fifteen-year-old, but imagine being separated from your boyfriend, having to learn a new language, and, oh yeah, getting off on the wrong foot with the local superhero by accidentally destroying half the neighborhood. For Jacquelyn “Jack” Smith, her transition to life in Paris is anything but easy, but for Rabbit, her superhero alter ego, there are darker forces at work. Let Ladybug and Cat Noir deal with Hawk Moth. She has her own set of problems.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: A recurring flaw of Jack/Rabbit, starting with her decision to use the Rabbit Miraculous and draw out Omega in the first place, which caused him to send Trumpeter Swan to Los Angeles. A standout moment comes when she uses Dogstruction to free Chat from Sequana, believing it was the only option. Ladybug is quick to tell her that no, it wasn't, since she hadn't even used Lucky Charm yet.

* KidsAreCruel: Jack doesn't get the best treatment from her classmates on her first day, as even the nicer ones don't seem particularly sympathetic to her inexperience with French or being a newcomer to Paris, and it almost gets her akumatised during lunch. Adrien helps turn things around for her, admitting that he should have approached her himself earlier, and by the end of Chapter 7 most of the class are much friendlier to her, aside from Chloé and Sabrina.

* BothSidesHaveAPoint: After Alya posts her video attacking Rabbit, Jack and Nino discuss posting a rebuttal video with more positive news clips, interviews with anyone she's saved or even Rabbit herself if they can find her. Adrien objects to the idea, arguing that Alya will come around if they give Ladybug and Chat Noir time to set her straight, and Mimmi tells Jack that this will make the rift between Alya and Nino worse, and that if she's going to clear her name it doesn't have to be at Alya's expense. Jack is less than sympathetic on this point, arguing that Alya has a lot of influence and should be better about fact-checking when posting conspiracy theories. [[DebateAndSwitch The argument becomes moot]] when Alya gets kidnapped by Cottontail in the middle of Nino's interview with Rabbit, and Nino admits that the video wasn't the best idea. "I mean, it made sense at the time, but that’s not really gonna help you. We gotta build you up, dude, and not by cutting others down."

** Jack later brings up with Marinette that she knows how it feels for someone to hold a grudge against her because of her mistakes, referring in part to Ladybug's reaction to her reckless actions in the battle against Sequana, but also to her friends back in Los Angeles, who eventually shut her out because of how many times she let them down due to something Rabbit-related. "My mom always says you can’t change the past. The best you can do to learn from it. And I learned that I don’t want anyone to feel the way I felt, so I try to be as forgiving and understanding as possible. I’ve always been that way, I guess, but, like, more now that I was before." [[spoiler:Marinette seems to take this to heart, as Ladybug shows signs of forgiving Rabbit later in the chapter.]]
