--> Roy: One of DC's biggest strength for me always was their villains. They had all kinds that were memorable: compassionate villains, honorable villains, psychotic villains, monstrous villains, femme fatales, and sympathetic villains. But still, they were villains. Now, I'm a fan of a good redemption story. Darth Vader coming to Luke's defense, sacrificing himself in the process, is an awesome moment for me... but it works because Darth Vader had to suffer a consequence for his past sins... he had to die. If a villain is wakes up and says "I'm a good guy now!" and does a few good deeds and heroes are okay with them now, that makes the said heroes come off as phony or untrue in their convictions. [[EnemyMine Putting aside differences to fight a greater enemy is one thing]], but it's altogether another to be like: "You helped the Joker kill thousands of people and now you want to play dress up and go fight crime with me? Okay... Sure, this will be fun!"

* AdaptationNameChange: Artemis of Bana-Mighdall is changed to Andraste to avoid confusion with the Greek goddess (in which Roy says it didn't make sense for her being named after her given that the Egyptian Bana-Mighdall didn't worship the Greek Gods like normal Amazons) and Artemis Crock aka Tigress.

* AdaptationalVillainy: Cleveland Brand is a member of the League of Assassins and killed his brother by ''cutting his heart out''.
* AdaptationAmalgamation: Being an UltimateUniverse and PatchworkFic, it combines several aspects from different adaptations and continuities.

* BlandNameProduct: According to Roy, He incorporates alternative names for real world companies and products as part of his unique world acting as parodies and pastiches, most of them including being Big Belly Burgers (As a parody of [=McDonald's=]), [=SmartGlass=] (with Kord Omniversal acting as Apple as their answer for [=iPhone=]) Chocos (Oreo's), Soder Cola (Coca Cola) Digbuild (VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}) [=MeVids=] (Website/YouTube), [=FaceSpace=] (Website/{{Facebook}}), CC Jitters (Starbucks), Blackhawk Express ([=FedEx=]),[= WackyWorld=] (Disneyland), Webpix (Creator/{{Netflix}}), etc.

* AlternateHistory: The history of the world began to diverge from our own during the Vietnam War thanks to Dr. Manhattan ending the conflict much earlier, and the mass destruction caused by the Manhattaning on 1987 ensured history took a similar yet very different course.

* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Mr. Freeze does this many times in the Vox boxes, for his main priority is Nora

** The Constantine family is no slouch on the department either with John acting as the patriach of the family alongside his wife Epiphany Graves and lover Zatanna Zatara.

This thanks to the to a whole in the damaged walls that closes of Earth-27 from the other Earths.]]

''Earth 27'' is a project by Deviantartist Roysovitch following a tumultuous event in his life. In collaboration with the Website/DeviantArt illustrator (and fellow comic fan) [[http://phil-cho.deviantart.com/ Phil Cho]], he presents Earth 27 in the form of Oracle Files (later renamed Network Files), which showcase individual superheroes in the [[Franchise/TheDCU DCU]], pulling inspiration from various comics, events, movies, video games, and TV shows.

A {{Spinoff}} centered around Marvel comics, titled ''Fanfic/Earth27M'', has also been created.

* UltimateUniverse: Earth 27 takes elements from various DC-related media properties, such as characters, settings, and plot points, and merges them into one universe with its own twists.

* LukeIAmYourFather: Deathstroke is Ronin and his brother Sam's biological father.

* {{Crossover}}: The setting takes some non-DC franchises, namely ''Franchise/ScoobyDoo'', ''WesternAnimation/CaptainPlanet'', ''Series/{{Supernatural}}'', ''Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'', Creator/ElviraMistressOfTheDark, ''Franchise/{{Ghostbusters}}'', ''Film/{{Gremlins}}'', ''ComicBook/ScottPilgrim'', ''ComicBook/{{Hellboy}}'' and even ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'' and other Cartoon Network characters and integrates them into the setting. Though Roy has explicitly stated that he plans to only use franchises linked to Warner Bros. in the universe along with DC characters, the ''Scooby'' gang, the Planeteers, the Winchester brothers, and the Cartoon Network characters are Warner Bros. works, and the Turtles, the Mistress, and Hellboy have had official crossovers with DC as well, hence their eventual integration.
* CrossoverCosmology: Mythologies from all over the world, including Greek, Irish, Hindu, Chinese and Christian Mythology to name a few, are represented and interconnected in a very coherent way.

* RuleOfSeven: Like in the comics the number seven is quite prominent; there are seven founding members of the Justice League, who nominate one recruit every year each. The Titans also have a seven members' team for every class. The Birds of Prey also have a main roster of seven members. There's the Seven Soldiers of Victory, seven Lantern Corps, seven Crimebusters, the Seven Wonders, seven Archangels and seven Endless. Even Superman has seven children (adopted and biological) of his own.

* SevenDeadlySins: The Sins are a common flaw in characters who are in groups of Seven, such as the Wolf Cubs, the Seven Dwarves, the Seven Exiles and even the seven Archangels. Then there are the Seven Deadly Enemies of Man, who are essentially their respective EmbodimentOfVice.

** [[WesternAnimation/ScoobyDoo Mystery Inc.]], yes, really. Fred is a former Army Ranger, Velma has doctorates on several fields, Daphne honed her martial art skills, Shaggy is an (unpolished) amateur sorcerer and Scooby Doo is his familiar.

* TeamMemberInTheAdaptation: Occurs with certain frequency thanks to the PatchworkFic nature of E-27.
** Green Arrow and Black Canary are founding members of the Justice League, taking the places of Green Lantern and Aquaman (who would join later).
** The Legion of Doom replaces Lex Luthor with Vandal Savage, Giganta with Circe and Solomon Grundy with Black Adam. That said, Savage led an incarnation of the LOD in ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeagueDoom'', while Black Adam was part of the Legion in ''ComicBook/{{Justice}}''
** Donna Troy/Darkstar, Garth/Tempest, Todd Rice/Obsidian and Dolphin are members of the Outsiders, but in the comics they're more involved with other hero groups more than the Outsiders.
** The Shazam family members were, or are, part of the Titans, when normally they are independent from other young heroes.
** Young Justice/The Team include Ryan Choi and Giganta.
** Jonah Hex is part of The Society, when in the comics he's uninvolved with other hero groups barring time travel.
** The only member of the current Seven Soldiers of Victory who was never a member in the comics is Sideways. Several past members, such as Kanto, Essence and Hob Gadling, were also unrelated to the Soldiers of Victory.
** Zan and Jayna are members of the Advena Legion, when in the comics the Wonder Twins were unrelated to the Legion of Superheroes.
*** Ryand'r/Darkstar also wasn't a member, but is included among their ranks here.
** Rip Hunter and Sara Lance are the only members who were part of the Legends, while Thea Queen, Roxy Rocket, Rose Wilson and Tanga, were not.
** The Lords of Chaos count amongst its members Dominus, Trigon, Melmoth, Imperiex, Neron and Barbatos.
** Loren Jupiter is the only member of the Blasters from the comics, while all the remaining confirmed members are former Titans uninvolved with the group.

** Ace also survives the E27 version of the events of "Epilogue" and forms a heroic Royal Flush Gang.
** Kyle Rayner and Alex [=DeWitt=] merely broke up here instead of the [[StuffedIntoTheFridge infamous]] original version since this version is merged with Alix Harrowell/Bulleter.
** Sarah Essen-Gordon survived Earth-27's version of the "No Man's Land" storyline. However, in this scenario she forced into a SadisticChoice by the Joker to let her mentor, Dave King, die and make her watch. The alternative would've been a dozen kidnapped newborns.
** Arthur Jr. is alive in this universe unlike his comic counterpart who was StuffedInTheFridge by Black Manta during the "Death of a Prince" story. Here, he's very much alive and well.
** Roy has made plain his dislike of Ted's death pre-Flashpoint (and in many other continuities and adaptations that follow suit), and has spared him his oft used tragic end. He even renamed Jaime Reyes' heroic identity into Silver Scarab as a means of including the character without transplanting the name (Jaime inherits his moniker from a deceased Ted most of the time, but Ted's alive and active in Earth-27). Jaime's codename switch pretty much cements Ted's status as ''spared''.
** Sue Dibny's [[RapeAsDrama infamous rape]] and [[StuffedIntoTheFridge death]] in ''ComicBook/IdentityCrisis'' does not happen here. She was almost raped before Ralph saved her before both became metahumans by accident as a result of Gingo.
** Gimmix and The Whip, short lived members of the Seven Soldiers of Victory, manage to survive the confrontation with the Sheeda, although Gimmix was tortured and Whip ended up transported somewhere else.
** Most of the members of the Doom Patrol that died in the comics (Celsius, Nudge, Fever, Dorothy) are still alive here.

** Tim Drake and Dinah Drake turn out to be cousins due to a philandering shared grandfather, though this was only figured out later due to the distance between both Drake families.
** Kathy Duquesne is the niece of Chien Na Wei (AKA China White).
** Adeline Kane, Slade Wilson's ex-wife is the sister of Jacob Kane and Martha Wayne, making her sons Grant and Joseph the cousins of Bruce Wayne, Kate Kate and Bette Kane.
** Emiko Queen is now Oliver Queen's daughter instead of his half-sister.
** Grace Choi, Ryan Choi and Eugene Choi are all half-siblings here.
** Mia Dearden is Oliver Queen's cousin here.
** Jade Nguyen and Artemis Crock are half-sisters too.
** John Stewart is the brother-in-law of Jefferson Pierce.
** Patrick O'Brian/Plastic Man is Ralph and Sue Dibny's son called Patrick Dibny/Plastic Kid.
** Walter Steele is the uncle of Clifford Steele/Robotman from the Doom Patrol.
** [[spoiler: Cissie King-Jones]] is the daughter of Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance.

** Not only is Killer Moth the half-brother of Johnny Valentine/Son of Pyg, he's the father of Jack and Melanie Walker, the Jack and Ten of the Royal Flush Gang from ''Batman Beyond''.
** Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, Giselle Smith/Gazelle, Jennika Smith, Rob Smith/Rocksteady and Samuel Smith are all half-siblings thanks to their shared father Jeffrey Smith. Jeffrey's brother is Steven "Shotgun" Smith from the GCPD, while their father is serial killer "Slaughterhouse" Scott Smith.
** Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa are brother and sister here.
** Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe/Misfit and Lori Zechlin/Black Alice, are half-sisters.
** Pied Piper and the Fiddler are also half-siblings.
