* If marathoning from the first episode, take a sip for a cameo from each Pokemon that will not have a major impact on the plot until much later in the series.

** Take an extra drink if it's actually {{justified}}, such as a Ground-type getting soaked with water to make it vulnerable to electricity.

** Take another when he verbally abuses his Pokemon.

* Take a shot every time there's some excuse not to have the gym battle in the episode you're watching. Down the bottle if the battle starts only to be interrupted and resolved in a later episode. The Blackthorn episodes will have you under the table. There's a 'reason' Pokemopolis calls "Better Eight than Never" "No more excuses".

* Take a shot whenever a Pokemon's attack does something ''completely'' different from what it would do (or not do) in the game.

* Whenever they're attacked by a wild Pokemon. If you're feeling ''really'' stupid, er, I mean...bold, do one for every one of that kind of Pokemon. (For example, the first episode, for every Spearow that attacks Pikachu. Note that you ''will'' die if [[ZergRush Beedrill]] are involved.)

* Take a sip every time Ash pulls out his Pokedex

* Take a shot when Ash turns his cap around and tosses a Pokeball.
* Take a shot when someone says something as they throw a Pokeball (e.g. "I choose you!" or whatever it is)

** Take a shot whenever you meet Mr. Bonding in a Hotel or the Pokemon Center.

** Take a small drink if you go on the GTS for a specific Pokemon, and you see someone asking for either a Mythical Pokemon or a Legendary for a small fry Pokemon. Two drinks if it's very low-levelled and they're expecting a much higher level.

** Take a big gulp and [[SpitTake spit it out]] if you sent a ComMon requesting a valuable pokemon to do a self-trade and pass up your items, and someone actually accepted the trade for some reason (and yes, it happens).

** Drink if you actually get a chance to make use of the Shiny Clause. Drink more if it allows you catch a Pokemon you really wanted, or allows you to make a second catch on a route you got something useless on the first time.
** Drink [[ThisIsGonnaSuck to prepare]] if the Pokemon you were counting on to sweep a Gym (or other major battle) dies with the hardest parts left to go.

* Someone utters, whether intentionally/unintentionally, a rather painful IncrediblyLamePun (Dub only).

* Whenever someone makes an IncrediblyLamePun.

** Down another if the episode in question was the infamous Kalos Leauge Finals episode. You're gonna need all the alcohol you can get to wash off that bad memory.
** Drink as much as you feel like you can drink in celebration when Ash wins the Alola Leauge.

* Take a sip for [[TierInducedScrappy every one of]] [[ComplacentGamingSyndrome the following]] in the Team Preview:
