** Yaoyorozu's managers pressure her to make her already {{Stripperific}} costume HotterAndSexier, while the other girls are forced to endure [[SexSells similarly minded adjustments]], underscoring how this is less about 'what's necessary for her Quirk' and purely about appearances.
** Said managers further illustrate that they don't care about her Quirk at all when a mission gone wrong leaves her practically skeletal. Despite her ''needing'' to put on weight in order to survive, her agents insist that she's only allowed to gain five extra pounds, because 'chubby' superheroines don't get sponsorships.
* ''Fanfic/EvolutionaryEndpoint'' deconstructs the common fanfic plot of All Might secretly being Izuku's biological father with Izuku becoming hurt when he learns that his idol is his DisappearedDad, and the fact that All Might never told him during the months they've known each other makes it much worse. He is also plainly uncomfortable with the reveal, and leaves most of his memorabilia behind as he finds it disturbing to be surrounded by images of his father.
* ''[[https://archiveofourown.org/works/13566582 Katsudon Warfare]]'' deconstructs the Midoriya/Bakugou pairing by showing it from the point of view of Izuku's mother, Inko. She's outraged (though she manages to thinly veil it) and scared about her son dating the boy that [[TheBully pestered and mistreated him for their entire childhood]] and fears what a relationship with a man like that can [[DomesticAbuse get to]]. It's reconstructed at the very end, where she realizes that Bakugou has changed, even if not that clear for her and that Midoriya knows what's best for himself, and their relationship does seem to work, as unlikely as it is.
* ''Fanfic/KingMHA'' picks apart the concept of the KarmaHoudiniWarranty. When Katsuki does something that he realizes should void his warranty, U.A. steps in to protect him... and, more importantly, protect their reputation, as they're already invested in supporting him after the Kamino incident. Katsuki doesn't fully ''want'' to be shielded from the consequences of his actions, but is given no real ''choice'' in the matter. Making matters worse is how his peers mistakenly see him as complicit, as he clearly benefits from the cover-up.
*** The story also deconstructs U.A.'s status as the most highly regarded Hero School, showing just how far they are willing to go to preserve that image. Much like Aldera Junior High, their reputation takes precedence over all else - and much like how Aldera's teachers ignored how Izuku was abused, U.A. punishes [[spoiler:Todoroki Shouto]] for speaking out against them.
* ''Fanfic/LockedInDigital'' deconstructs the [[FandomSpecificPlot/MyHeroAcademia Quirkless!Izuku fic]] by having Izuku become an EmpoweredBadassNormal... at the expense of his [[AdaptationalAngstUpgrade optimism]], [[BloodKnight mercy]], and [[ConditionedToAcceptHorror sanity]].
* ''Fanfic/OriginOfANonHero'' looks at a potential future in which Izuku has become the next Symbol of Peace. However, this [[FamilyVersusCareer comes at the cost of his family]]; despite his best efforts, he's unable to balance the demands of being Japan's most prolific Pro Hero with his personal life, and is [[DoesntKnowTheirOwnChild completely out of touch]] with his son Shikinori. Including his utter inability to understand that unlike him, Shiki wants ''nothing'' to do with Pro Heroism -- not after seeing it tear his parents apart.
* ''[[https://archiveofourown.org/works/17400050/chapters/40955042 Our Hero]]'' tackles the [[invoked]] FandomSpecificPlot of Class 1-A learning about Bakugou bullying Midoriya and [[SuicideDare daring him to "take a swan dive off the roof"]] and shunning him. Rather than being tearfully grateful for their support, Izuku is furiously frustrated by their efforts, as all of this is coming ''after'' both he and Katsuki have [[CharacterDevelopment grown through their experiences thus far]]. Having his opinions dismissed as him "not knowing any better" or being a WideEyedIdealist who supposedly doesn't recognize the abuse for what it was only serves to upset him.
* The ''Fanfic/SleeperHitAU'' tackles the [[invoked]] [[FandomSpecificPlot popular concepts of 'Dad Might' and 'Dadzawa']] by [[ForWantOfANail removing the incident with the Sludge Villain]], leaving Izuku Quirkless. While he still trains hard enough to pass the Entrance Exam and make it into U.A., Aizawa promptly expels him while claiming he 'lacks potential'. While Toshinori clearly sympathizes with his plight, he doesn't say a word against it, letting Izuku pass him by without offering even a shred of comfort.
** Aizawa takes the deconstruction further because there ''is'' a student he's formed a special bond with: Shinsou. This is, in fact, part of the reason '''why''' he expels Izuku -- out of a selfish desire to ensure that there's an open slot in his class once Shinsou is able to prove himself worthy of the Hero Course. He also favors Hagakure over Midoriya, assuming that her {{Invisibility}} would be more useful and rigging the results of his test. This favoritism winds up hurting everyone involved; both Shinsou and Hagakure are heartbroken upon realizing that he nearly destroyed Midoriya's dreams in order to support theirs, and Hagakure in particular questions whether or not she ''deserved'' to attend U.A.
* ''Quantity of Quirks''[='=] [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13639506/1/Quantity-of-Quirks first chapter]], despite its nature as a CrackFic, deconstructs the ComicallyInvincibleHero.
** First of all, Izuku's massive strength stops him from doing various everyday activities, such as sports. His only experience throwing a ball ended with the ball flying so far it could never be recovered.
** It shows how vastly unfair it really is to be one of the other characters in such a set-up.
** When Izuku turns into a dragon, showing that his SuperStrength and SuperSpeed were both just inherent abilities, Bakugo falls down and yells in despair. He had hoped that enough training and then support gear could close the gap, but Izuku is literally more than a thousand times stronger than him while fighting quirkless. Even surpassing All Might wouldn't be enough for Bakugo to be Izuku's rival, and he can never compete against strength that vast, crushing Bakugo's dreams.
** Todoroki realizes that everything his father did to his family was completely pointless, as he could never surpass Izuku, leaving him sobbing.
* ''Fanfic/WhisperedTribulation'' takes the [[invoked]] FandomSpecificPlot of "Aizawa discovers Izuku's Quirk Research notebooks and [[MistakenForSpies assumes that he must be a traitor]]", dismantling many of the cliches commonly associated with such stories.
** While Aizawa and his co-conspirators believe that the ends justify the means and are willing to [[WouldHurtAChild kidnap a student]] in order to interrogate them, Nedzu swiftly learns what's happening and prevents them from going any further, refusing to let them break the law in pursuit of 'justice' and [[FalseConfession securing a 'confession']].
** Rather than everyone leaping to the same conclusions as Aizawa and turning on Izuku ''en masse'', the majority [[WhatTheHellHero are appalled by his actions]], which are treated more as ATragedyOfImpulsiveness that [[HoistByHisOwnPetard costs him dearly]].
** Nedzu does not mysteriously 'forget' that they can consult somebody with a LivingLieDetector Quirk, immediately contacting Detective Naomasa and his sister to get them involved as quickly as possible. He also does his best to block Aizawa's efforts to break Izuku and force a FalseConfession, preventing many of the brutalities commonly visited upon Izuku in such stories.
** The stress of having his class repeatedly attacked by villains causes Aizawa's paranoia to shoot through the roof as his [[SanitySlippage sanity degrades]]. While this explains ''why'' he goes after Izuku so viciously, Nedzu makes clear that it in no way ''[[FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse excuses]]'' [[FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse his behavior]].

* Jeconais' ''[[http://jeconais.fanficauthors.net/The_banishment_of_Uzumaki_Naruto/The_banishment_of_Uzumaki_Naruto/ The banishment of Uzumaki Naruto]]'' in which the often-pulled fan trope of the town council being a powerful force grinding Naruto down is skewered, and Danzō's pet project gets rather nicely sporked as well. Notable in showing even an admitted CrackFic can be a Deconstruction Fic.
* ''Fanfic/ACaseStudyInTheSturdinessOfTheRookie9'' starts out as a light-hearted take on three shuffled versions of Team 7, 8 and 10. However, several of the elements that are initially presented as humorous or amusing are eventually revealed to have long-reaching consequences.
** Kakashi's approach to teaching Team 7 can be summarized as "SureLetsGoWithThat", as he exploits their independence and lets them draw their own conclusions about the goals of his 'lessons'. As a result, however, he has no control over what they ''take away'' from his actions, leading them to wrongly conclude that [[spoiler:betraying the trust of your allies]] is okay so long as you achieve your goals.
** Asuma encourages Ino to use her Mind-Body switch to [[AmusingInjuries beat the hell]] out of her teammates. This makes them both understandably terrified of her, to the point that just hearing her voice becomes a TraumaButton for Kiba.
** It's revealed that the reason Sasuke lives alone in the Uchiha Compound is due to various legalities that would cause him to lose control of his family's land if he didn't stay there. Investigating how to fix this makes Shikamaru increasingly aware of just how tangled and screwed-up Konoha's legal codes are, particularly when it comes to [[spoiler:adoption]].
* ''Fanfic/{{Echoes}}'' deconstructs pretty much every ''Naruto'' fanfiction cliche. The main premise of the plot is that one Naruto gains the power to traverse the multiverse so he ends up meeting other versions of himself that turned out badly. It also mocks many cliches such as the Council is out to get Naruto; it's not, he's just a convenient political scapegoat for an unknown antagonist [[ButForMeItWasTuesday who doesn't really care that he exists]]; [[ButForMeItWasTuesday Naruto's suffering is just collateral damage for this antagonist's unknown goal]]. It also points out how implausible it is for a bunch of kids to win fights against hardened killers with years of experience just because they're the new generation; the old generation completely dominates the new generation simply because they've been in the business longer, the bad guys only lose when outnumbered five to one and they tend to bring a main character down with them even then.
* ''Fanfic/EscapeFromTheHokagesHat'' deconstructs the "evil council out to get Naruto" by showing that they actually don't hate him, they're more indifferent of him (although they have done some {{Jerkass}} things concerning Naruto). They hate Sasuke (they cite him as a liability) and outright state how it would be better to execute him but can't for fear of Itachi's wrath.
* The ''Fanfic/FirstTrySeries'' questions why no one seems to know that the Uzumaki were prestigious as the clans and took part in much of Konoha's history [[spoiler:and why the newest generation didn't have any impressive skill]].
* ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10843264/1/The-Gentry The Gentry]]'' deconstructs the stereotypical "evil badass takes-no-shit harem master Naruto" and tears it apart utterly by showing that there is no way any characters would act the way most authors depict them in these types of stories. The Gentry, used somewhat as analogues of [[TakeThat the authors]] of these kinds of stories, pretty much manipulated Naruto's entire life to suit their own needs and shift his life to their vision, corrupting his "pure" self. They manipulated Naruto's hearing so that he heard nothing but hate from his comrades, they manipulated the minds of all the adults so that they could have "hated Naruto all along" or as the "stereotypical evil council", and the harem? Manipulated their minds so they would "love" Naruto and not even mean it to drown in physical pleasure without any true emotional meaning. And even worse, it's not going to end with Naruto. They are manipulating other worlds described as the parodies of other fandom cliches.
* ''[[http://archiveofourown.org/series/232839 The Hopeless Wanderer]]'' series deconstructs Naruto's AllOfTheOtherReindeer status and the lack of attentive adult figures in his life. Namely that in realistic situations isolated people are popular targets for abusive or toxic relationships. Sasuke targets and traps Naruto into a codependent relationship with him by undermining Naruto's faith in others by pointing out Iruka and Sarutobi's lack of involvement, Kakashi's neglect, and Sakura's abrasiveness and making himself seem like he cares for Naruto's well-being. Since early series Naruto is known to latch on to people who give him affection, this leads him to downward spiral to the point of becoming a Missing-Nin with Sasuke. Everyone involved knows that they have no one but themselves to blame for not catching the warning signs of a toxic relationship between the two until it was too late.
* ''Fanfic/IAmNOTGoingThroughPubertyAgain'' does this with PeggySue plots:
** First, none of the time travelers knew time travel was even ''possible''. Naruto had sealed away all scrolls pertaining to jutsu involving time travel, as they were experimental at best and thus potentially dangerous.
** Secondly, none of them ''wanted'' to go back in time. Another reason why those scrolls were sealed away is because the world was as close to peace as it was ever going to be. If any of those experimental jutsu had succeeded, the user could potentially undo all the progress made towards what was as close to an ideal future as the ninja world could get.
** Finally, the time travelers don't bother keeping all the details, because they don't remember them. The events of Part I, to them, happened ''decades ago''. There's no way they'd be able to keep track of all the details and maintain a path towards an idealized future, so they don't even bother. Hence, they instead screw around with everything in order to enjoy themselves and let the chips fall where they may.
* Creator/{{Lucillia}}'s ''Naruto'' fanfics deconstructs the ContinuityDrift of the series or how certain reveals don't make sense with past actions. For example, in ''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7291294/1/Uzumaki-and-Uchiha Uzumaki and Uchiha]]'', the villagers' adoration of Sasuke stops when they think [[ItMakesSenseInContext that Naruto was bred to be the Jinchuriki for Sasuke to control]], they react with the same distrust they gave to the rest of the Uchiha.
* ''Fanfic/{{Nightingale}}'' deconstructs a trope most commonly found in bad and/or over-powered ''Naruto'' fanfic that has one character become extremely powerful by learning that he/she was born with two different strains of SuperpowerfulGenetics. [[spoiler:Neji]] is [[PowerIncontinence physically unstable]] for this very reason, and it's never made clear how much of his madness and clinical instability is [[PentUpPowerPeril because this power is building up inside of him]] and how much is because of outbreeding depression. In addition, there's the "powerful political force deliberately sabotages badass main character because they fear the main character's power" trend mentioned above in Echoes, deconstructed by showing the long-lasting and potentially permanent physical and psychological scars left by the attempts to restrain said power. ''Fanfic/{{Nightingale}}'' also deconstructs a few things from canon, like the Hyūga clan's branch system [[ChildSoldiers and the]] NinjaBrat [[ChildSoldiers trope]], the latter of which is demonstrated both through fully-grown former Ninja Brat characters and a young genin team of ten-year-olds.
* ''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8231841/1/Playing-Games Playing Games]]'' deconstructs the FandomSpecificPlot of Naruto growing up in ANBU. As a child, Naruto was a member of ANBU, [[AmbiguousInnocence they used the cover of night]] [[ChildrenAreInnocent to keep a young Naruto]] in the dark [[ChildSoldiers of the truth of the "games"]] that he used to play with ANBU.
* ''Fanfic/SonOfTheSannin'' deconstructs the use of OneWingedAngel among the villains, showing two extremes of this trope with Kimimaro and [[spoiler: Mizuki]], who are given Cursed Seals by Orochimaru. The former only uses the seal sparingly, so he's still rather inexperienced with its drawbacks, like loss of speed or increased chakra consumption, and he loses to an opponent who has more experience and is able to drag on the battle to use them to his advantage. The latter, on the other hand, uses it as much as possible to the point it becomes a crutch for him. He finds himself facing an opponent he can't overpower by brute strength alone, so when the Cursed Seal fails him, he has nothing else to rely on.
* ''Fanfic/TimeMixUp'' lampshades Naruto's status as a HighlyVisibleNinja. Instead of denouncing it like many fics, Naruto points out the skill needed to be able to outrun and outhide many skilled and experienced ninja in an eye-catching color.
* ''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5288868/1/Uprooted Uprooted]]'' takes the idea of Danzō getting his hands on our favourite HighlyVisibleNinja... and instead of going the BreakTheCutie route, has Naruto's own nature start a tumbling row of dominos that BreakTheHaughty Danzō and destroy ROOT. Also serves as an example of deconstructions not necessarily being DarkerAndEdgier.
* ''We Are'' deconstructs the {{Fanon}} idea of a "clan reconstruction" law allowing the last member of a clan to have multiple wives (generally used to invoke the OneTrueThreesome) by carrying out the idea of a "clan reconstruction" plan to its logical conclusion. The person invoking it is placed under house arrest until they produce at least two grandchildren (to ensure that the clan doesn't end with them), and are forbidden to get in fights to avoid risking death. Spouses are chosen for them based not on their own romantic or sexual desires, but on genetic compatibility to ensure maximization of offspring production.
* ''Fanfic/YetAgainWithALittleExtraHelp'' uses its cracky, silly premise to mock too many aspects of fandom in general and of ''Naruto'' in particular to list here. The central {{Original Character}}s, for example, are essentially god-like beings playing SelfInsertFic. This gets lampshaded, mocked, and diced so many ways. Chapters of its sequel hint that it is even deconstructing itself on the theme of Mary Sue [=OCs=] helping out the main character and unusual training from hell if the hints of Naruto's mental trauma are any indication.

* Pokémon fanfics playing with the franchise's "trainer and {{Mons}} power of friendship" motif are common. It helps that there are canon examples, with ''Manga/PokemonAdventures'' for example showing what both Pokémon and humans suffer and what can happen in the world of Pokémon.
* [=CoriFalls=]'s work ''tries'' to be a deconstruction of Ash's dealings with Team Rocket only to fail by swinging the[[ProtagonistCenteredMorality perceived unfair treatment]] the other way around: instead, Ash becomes the highly abused villain who's just trying to live his life while Jessie, James and Meowth become the self-centered "heroes" who believe everything they do is good and right because they're them and they're Such Good People.
* ''Fanfic/AtTheFoodCourt'' was written solely as a TakeThat against Cori Falls's infamous fanfiction, particularly ''The Prodigal Parents'', in which [[Anime/PokemonTheSeries Ash]] becomes a FutureLoser with severe delusions and who [[PsychopathicManchild can no longer live unassisted because he has the mental age of a kindergartener]]. (In case it isn't clear, ''The Prodigal Parents'' was a [[RonTheDeathEater bashfic]].) ''At the Food Court'' reinterprets everything, taking canon and basic human decency into account, showing that Ash was once a normal kid whose life was ruined by criminals who beat him up so severely, he had to be hospitalized, and permanently regressed to the cognitive level of a kindergartener due to massive brain damage. It doesn't shy away from showing [[FateWorseThanDeath how horrible a fate Ash suffers]] and that [[DesignatedHero no one could possibly inflict that on someone and remain sympathetic]]. Without the ProtagonistCenteredMorality in ''The Prodigal Parents'', Jessie and James are not heroes, but villains.
* ''Fanfic/TheEditWarForAshsFreedomToNotBeBetrayed'' is one long deconstruction of the prevalent DarkerAndEdgier BetrayalFic genre in the fandom (and all the tropes that come with) in the form of the titular edit war, a fight between Arceus and a figure named [[MeaningfulName Darkern Edgier]] over Ash's fate. The latter's plans are often derailed by characters actually acting in-character (especially when it comes to Ash's ThePollyanna and AllLovingHero traits), his preaching about "strong" and "OU tier" Pokémon falls flat because it relies entirely on gamesverse statistics that tend to be ignored in the anime (e.g. Ash manages to beat three of those "OU tier" Pokémon with the statistically-weaker Unfezant simply because he has more battle experience than their trainers), and reality refuses to be ignored whenever he tries to make Ash suffer (e.g. he tries to kill Pikachu with a horde of Pokémon that's ''[[WeaksauceWeakness 4x weak]]'' to Pikachu's Electric attacks, leading to Pikachu curbstomping them all).
* There are a lot of fanfics out there in which Ash is made invincible, and it is perfectly possible to interpret ''Fanfic/TheGreatestThereWasOrEverWillBe'' as a deconstruction of them, because the first chapter is nothing but how [[OlympusMons Arceus]] set things up from the very beginning to favor Ash and give him superpowers (such as [[MagneticHero overwhelming charisma]] and the ability to make all of his Pokémon accept his TrainingFromHell) that he logically should not possess. And yes, Ash [[spoiler:''does'' let all of his power [[AGodAmI go to his head]] occasionally, which terrifies both his friends and himself]], [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone when he returns to lucidity]]. It's as if the writer is sending a message that such an InvincibleHero is only possible in these fanfics because of authorial intervention.
* ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10552246/1/Kindred-Spirits Kindred Spirits]]'', an [[AlternateUniverseFic AU]] of ''Anime/PokemonTheFirstMovie'', deconstructs CommonMarySueTraits. The heroine is an OCStandIn rather than an actual OC, massive changes must be made to the setting for her to even exist[[note]]as the canon character she is based on is dead by the time the anime takes place[[/note]], the fact that she shares her name with the fic's author is pure coincidence as a result, and, even though she befriends the canon characters instantly and scenes from the movie proceed all but unchanged except for her giving a line of dialogue here or there, her presence has actually made the situation ''[[ButterflyOfDoom worse]]''.
* ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7657817/1/Lamentations-of-a-Pidgeot Lamentations of a Pidgeot]]'' deconstructs the common joke among the fandom about Ash never visiting Pidgeot like he promised when he released her into the wild. First, Pidgeot goes into denial, telling herself that Ash will come back and later worrying that he may be hurt. Then she hears Delia and Professor Oak talking about Ash's latest adventure in Johto. She keeps waiting until she eventually [[DespairEventHorizon gives up]]. And finally, she reaches the anger stage and never quite leaves it, attacking trainers who try to catch Pokemon in that area because she doesn't want them to go through what she went through.
* ''Fanfic/APikachuInLove'' is Deconstruction for OC/Canon pairings, the ManicPixieDreamGirl character type, and the ideal that Ash and Pikachu's bond will always remain strong. [[spoiler:Though the latter gets {{Reconstruction}} at the end of the fic]], and though Pichi did manage to pick Pikachu up when he was questioning his relationship with Ash, Pichi's wacky and carefree antics [[spoiler:nearly get Pikachu '''''killed''''' by an Ursaring later on in the fic, and this causes her to suffer a temporary HeroicBSOD as result.]] On top of that, her attempts to make Pikachu lighten eventually leads to heartache for both of them when Pichi realizes she's in love Pikachu, [[spoiler:and though Pikachu loves her too, it was because of her that he realized his bond with Ash was too strong for him to ever leave him, and decides to stick with Ash until the end.]]
* ''Fanfic/PokeWars'' is this for the Pokémon revolution genre with it pulling absolutely no punches with showing how divisive and destructive such an act would be. It also highlights how lethal the [[{{mons}} Pokémon]] can be.
* ''Theatre/PokemonTheMewsical'' deconstructs Ash's bond with Pikachu -- when [[spoiler:[[TeamRocketWins Team Rocket successfully kidnaps Pikachu]]]], Ash goes crazy, and becomes willing [[TheUnfettered to stop at nothing]] to get him back. ** The PathOfMostResistance trope is also deconstructed: while the main story and the Astrid oneshot show that trainers like Ash and the OC Vermell can use this trope to truly prepare themselves for basically anything, the Cipher one-shot introduces the readers to a rookie trainer named Shawn who tries the same thing, by taking on the ''Orre'' region of all places. Because he wasn't truly prepared to handle such a tough path, he ends up with no money and [[TrappedInVillainy forced to join a criminal organization to survive]].

Unfortunately, many people begin to take advantage of her goodwill, asking her for help in easy tasks they could do themselves, which builds up a lot of resentment and eventually sparks her StartOfDarkness.

Anna notes that the lover she had who sired Arnold is by far the most sexually pleasing lover she ever had, but she notes that the physical pleasure involved was missing something. Basically the point there is just being an excellent lover physically can't match lower quality lovemaking where genuine affection and care are in play. Notably, ''Reset'' is a Harem Fic, where characters capable of immense physical love to every XX chromosomed being the writer likes is commonplace and often exists in place of non-sexual romantic connections.
** Not that GoodPeopleHaveGoodSex is completely spared either: the fanfic in the same point draws a slight but noticeable difference between physical and emotional fulfillment in sex. You can enjoy one on its own, but having one does not mean you have the other. The first character in story noted to having both is a villain, and the fic's KnightOfCerebus at that: as you don't need to be a good person overall to qualify, but be a good person to the one(s) you are having sex with to qualify for the trope. Just being morally lower than others doesn't decrease your ability to provide physical or emotional pleasure in the act.
** FamedInStory is given a hard blow in Chapter 29: Ash, unlike in canon, is recognized for his past accomplishments, but this also means people know what to expect from him. Janine changes her strategy around from her usual specifically to counter him (by using Stealth Rock, knowing that his two most likely Pokemon to use against her are Charizard and Butterfree, she cripples much of his team). While he still wins the fight, it is a lot harder than it would have been normally and such a trend is likely to only continue with later gym leaders and challengers (and does in the case of Blaine, who outwits Ash in a game of IKnowYouKnowIKnow and outplans Ash's own plans against him. While Ash does win again, it is made clear that being FamedInStory made it harder than it would have been otherwise).
** The fic early on deconstructs the idea of breaking Ash (and other anime protagonists in Pokémon) from the StatusQuoIsGod trope: while Ash does demonstrate some frustration with being under it early on, it is made clear that the Status Quo also keeps things from turning too dark, even as it makes it so they never win. With it removed, [=MissingNo=] outright spells it out that all paid an EquivalentExchange to be free of it, regardless of the fact that none of them chose to. Now Ash and all of the protagonists are free to pursue their dreams and achieve them, but at a cost that ranges in intensity for each of them, first shown by Brock being able to find love at the cost of ''both'' of his parents being dead at the start of the story. The Status Quo sucks, but removing it leads to issues that they are not used to, nor are pleasant.
** Red's memetic status as a [[HeroicMime silent badass]] is also deconstructed. Red legitimately has socialization issues that make it hard for him to bond with people and Pokemon alike, as seen in his interactions with Ash and co. in chapter 26 and his own Pokémon in his One Island Oneshot. This trend continues during the Two Island Interlude, as shown by the fact that, despite having a closer bond with his Charizard than with most of his other Pokémon, it's not strong enough for him to learn Blast Burn from Ultima ([[ThePowerOfFriendship as it's powered by the friendship]] between trainer and Pokémon), and also has led him to not to pay enough attention to his Clefairy's AxCrazy tendencies or how to deal with them.
** In the same Two Island Interlude, Red's CombatPragmatist philosophy is also partially deconstructed. His mother taught him that not giving your all against an opponent is seen as an insult and lack of respect. However, during his battle with Ultima, she defeats him with ease, despite her Dragonite not even using its full strength, as the only purpose was to gauge Charizard's power. When Red is upset about this, Ultima points out that, barring a life-or-death situation, she's not going to cripple an opponent, showing that, at least for competitive battling, sometimes holding back isn't necessarily a bad thing.
** Chapter 41 of the main story takes a shot at the idea of a 'Chosen One' and the rarity of humans with 'pure hearts': Raikou claims that there are many humans with pure hearts even in a single village and that the majority of humans other than them aren't evil. The heroine is an OCStandIn rather than an actual OC, massive changes must be made to the setting for her to even exist[[note]]as the canon character she is based on is dead by the time the anime takes place[[/note]], the fact that she shares her name with the fic's author is pure coincidence as a result, and, even though she befriends the canon characters instantly and scenes from the movie proceed all but unchanged except for her giving a line of dialogue here or there, her presence has actually made the situation ''[[ButterflyOfDoom worse]]''.
** There are a lot of fanfics out there in which Ash is made invincible, and it is perfectly possible to interpret ''Fanfic/TheGreatestThereWasOrEverWillBe'' as a deconstruction of them, because the first chapter is nothing but how [[OlympusMons Arceus]] set things up from the very beginning to favor Ash and give him superpowers (such as [[MagneticHero overwhelming charisma]] and the ability to make all of his Pokémon accept his TrainingFromHell) that he logically should not possess. And yes, Ash [[spoiler:''does'' let all of his power [[AGodAmI go to his head]] occasionally, which terrifies both his friends and himself]], [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone when he returns to lucidity]]. It's as if the writer is sending a message that such an InvincibleHero is only possible in these fanfics because of authorial intervention.
** ''Theatre/PokemonTheMewsical'' deconstructs Ash's bond with Pikachu -- when [[spoiler:[[TeamRocketWins Team Rocket successfully kidnaps Pikachu]]]], Ash goes crazy, and becomes willing [[TheUnfettered to stop at nothing]] to get him back. Though [[spoiler:Ash recovers Pikachu and all is right at the end]], the implication is clear that, if he had failed, Ash would have become just like Giovanni (whose reason for villainy in this is because [[spoiler:he himself lost his own Pikachu]]) in time.
** [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7657817/1/Lamentations-of-a-Pidgeot This fic]] deconstructs the common joke among the fandom about Ash never visiting Pidgeot like he promised when he released her into the wild. First, Pidgeot goes into denial, telling herself that Ash will come back and later worrying that he may be hurt. Then she hears Delia and Professor Oak talking about Ash's latest adventure in Johto. She keeps waiting until she eventually [[DespairEventHorizon gives up]]. And finally, she reaches the anger stage and never quite leaves it, attacking trainers who try to catch pokemon in that area because she doesn't want them to go through what she went through.
** ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8354975/1/When-a-Dream-is-Done When a Dream is Done]]'' takes apart the frequent fan canon of 'Ash goes to Mt. Silver and becomes a total badass champion'. He does...but not only does he discover that VictoryIsBoring, but the isolation and fixation on battles have also seriously messed up his mental state and his relationships with everyone he cared about.
** ''Fanfic/PokemonResetBloodlines'' deconstructs a few tropes in its main story and the side stories that apply to both the series in general and fanfiction in general.
*** The historical criminal 20 Gyarados Bill deconstructs the MagikarpPower trope by having a villain realize he can take the cruddy fish found everywhere there is water and make them badass. He does so, and uses them to go on a villainous rampage instead, for after all it is not just heroes capable of taking the slow path to greatness.
*** The PathOfMostResistance trope is also deconstructed: while the main story and the Astrid oneshot show that trainers like Ash and the OC Vermell can use this trope to truly prepare themselves for basically anything, the Cipher one-shot introduces the readers to a rookie trainer named Shawn who tries the same thing, by taking on the ''Orre'' region of all places. Because he wasn't truly prepared to handle such a tough path, he ends up with no money and [[TrappedInVillainy forced to join a criminal organization to survive]].
*** MundaneUtility is deconstructed in the Sabrina Gaiden. [[ComesGreatResponsibility Sabrina's father convinces her to use her powers to help people in her hometown]]. Unfortunately, many people begin to take advantage of her goodwill, asking her for help in easy tasks they could do themselves, which builds up a lot of resentment and eventually sparks her StartOfDarkness.
*** SexGod is also given a beating in Chapter 27. Anna notes that the lover she had who sired Arnold is by far the most sexually pleasing lover she ever had, but she notes that the physical pleasure involved was missing something. [[GoodPeopleHaveGoodSex She notes that two later lovers, who were nowhere near as good as he was, had it]]. Basically the point there is just being an excellent lover physically can't match lower quality lovemaking where genuine affection and care are in play. Notably, ''Reset'' is a Harem Fic, where characters capable of immense physical love to every XX chromosomed being the writer likes is commonplace and often exists in place of non-sexual romantic connections.
*** Not that GoodPeopleHaveGoodSex is completely spared either: the fanfic in the same point draws a slight but noticeable difference between physical and emotional fulfillment in sex. You can enjoy one on its own, but having one does not mean you have the other. The first character in story noted to having both is a villain, and the fic's KnightOfCerebus at that: as you don't need to be a good person overall to qualify, but be a good person to the one(s) you are having sex with to qualify for the trope. Just being morally lower than others doesn't decrease your ability to provide physical or emotional pleasure in the act.
*** FamedInStory is given a hard blow in Chapter 29: Ash, unlike in canon, is recognized for his past accomplishments, but this also means people know what to expect from him. Janine changes her strategy around from her usual specifically to counter him (by using Stealth Rock, knowing that his two most likely Pokemon to use against her are Charizard and Butterfree, she cripples much of his team). While he still wins the fight, it is a lot harder than it would have been normally and such a trend is likely to only continue with later gym leaders and challengers (and does in the case of Blaine, who outwits Ash in a game of IKnowYouKnowIKnow and outplans Ash's own plans against him. While Ash does win again, it is made clear that being FamedInStory made it harder than it would have been otherwise).
*** The fic early on deconstructs the idea of breaking Ash (and other anime protagonists in Pokémon) from the StatusQuoIsGod trope: while Ash does demonstrate some frustration with being under it early on, it is made clear that the Status Quo also keeps things from turning too dark, even as it makes it so they never win. With it removed, [=MissingNo=] outright spells it out that all paid an EquivalentExchange to be free of it, regardless of the fact that none of them chose to. Now Ash and all of the protagonists are free to pursue their dreams and achieve them, but at a cost that ranges in intensity for each of them, first shown by Brock being able to find love at the cost of ''both'' of his parents being dead at the start of the story. The Status Quo sucks, but removing it leads to issues that they are not used to, nor are pleasant.
*** Red's memetic status as a [[HeroicMime silent badass]] is also deconstructed. Red legitimately has socialization issues that make it hard for him to bond with people and Pokemon alike, as seen in his interactions with Ash and co. in chapter 26 and his own Pokémon in his One Island Oneshot. While he is still skilled and is not a bad person in the inside, these issues do make his goals harder to reach. In particular Mega Evolution is something he is told by Siebold he will struggle with because of his social issues with his Pokémon, even though the author does make it clear that Red does not mistreat them. This trend continues during the Two Island Interlude, as shown by the fact that, despite having a closer bond with his Charizard than with most of his other Pokémon, it's not strong enough for him to learn Blast Burn from Ultima ([[ThePowerOfFriendship as it's powered by the friendship]] between trainer and Pokémon), and also has led him to not to pay enough attention to his Clefairy's AxCrazy tendencies or how to deal with them.
*** In the same Two Island Interlude, Red's CombatPragmatist philosophy is also partially deconstructed. His mother taught him that not giving your all against an opponent is seen as an insult and lack of respect. However, during his battle with Ultima, she defeats him with ease, despite her Dragonite not even using its full strength, as the only purpose was to gauge Charizard's power. When Red is upset about this, Ultima points out that, barring a life-or-death situation, she's not going to cripple an opponent, showing that, at least for competitive battling, sometimes holding back isn't necessarily a bad thing.
*** Chapter 41 of the main story takes a shot at the idea of a 'Chosen One' and the rarity of humans with 'pure hearts': Raikou claims that there are many humans with pure hearts even in a single village and that the majority of humans other than them aren't evil. Ho-Oh is well aware of this fact and just avoids humanity in general because it has grown to prefer isolation. Like some of the above Naruto examples, deconstruction does not need to be dark and edgy.
*** Chapter 46 takes a hammer to the idea of battle-winning evolution: Pava's Dragonair evolved into Dragonite while battling Ash in the first round of Indigo. Despite the power boost she was unable to win. Pava also deconstructs a common action in game of pushing through the games with a single overleveled Pokémon: not only did this not work in the end for her it also was not a result of laziness but the fact that her time was so limited by family issues she only had time to fully train one Pokémon (Dragonair).

* ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'':
** ''Fanfic/MagicaMadokaVeneficusPuella'' deconstructs the typical FixFic expected for this fandom, though it swings back and forth between this and FixFic.
** ''[[http://archiveofourown.org/works/625606?view_adult=true Truth and Illusion]]'' also does this, though much more decisively and dealing with the much-loved [[spoiler: "Sayaka comes back"]] plot exclusively.
** It should be mentioned that ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagicaTheMovieRebellion'' has been interpreted as a deconstruction of the series' {{Fan Work}}s. [[spoiler:The beginning of the movie comes straight from fan works, but it's portrayed as [[AffectionateParody silly]] [[LotusEaterMachine and fake]]. The ending of the movie comes straight from FixFic, but like everything in the series, it comes at a price.]]

** These tend to deconstruct the whole GenderBender[=/=]{{Shapeshifting}}, by overplaying the mental stress these put on the characters straight, and not for fun. Their over the top flaws from the manga (Ryoga and orientation, Ranma and socializing etc.) are used too. [[DownerEnding Usually this ends with a massive downer]].
** ''Fanfic/TheKeyToASuccessfulInterview'', with additional TrollFic and RevengeFic elements. Notably, it also gives Ranma and Akane a much better first impression.
** ''[[http://stefangagne.com/twoflower/fanfic/TheEnds.txt The Ends]]'' by @/{{Twoflower}} is meant to be "my farewell to Ranma ½, and my condemnation of it". It rips the very things needed to maintain the madcap comedy of the series to shreds, particularly the idea that it could result in a concrete, satisfying ending.
** ''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5966741/1/Dutiful_Child Dutiful Child]]'' by Luan Mao takes the "give the characters exactly what they want, in all its suck" route. There's an element of FixFic, but it's also a bitter breakdown of what kind of manliest man would result from Ranma's childhood. To explain:
*** Ranma finally takes Akane seriously in training? He puts her through the same [[TrainingFromHell training]] he went through at ''age 6'' that she gives up on within a week while similtaneously breaking off their engagement for good.
*** Happi gets defeated and Ranma becomes Grand Master? He ends up being TheDreaded that even his dad and Suon are ''terrified'' of and become too afriad to face him head on on through stealth, taking away their control over him.
*** Ranma's childhood and life itself? He ''hates'' his parents for trying to turn him into a MealTicket. In fact, the FixFic aspect of the story comes from him [[ATasteOfTheirOwnMedicine exacting poetic revenge on them both]] by putting Gemna through [[TrainingFromHell a harsh training regiment for several years]] [[ScareEmStraight forces the man to abandon his unsavory tactics to survive]] while Nodoka [[HoistByHerOwnPetard is tricked into signing a contract to train into becoming a geisha or commit sepakku for the shame.]] [[BestServedCold All while acting as a "man upon men" in Japan would act...]]
** ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/665845/1/Mamono-Hunter-Ukyou Mamono Hunter Ukyou]]'' (crossover with Anime/DevilHunterYohko), being a DarkFic, rips apart the SadistShow and DysfunctionJunction elements when [[DarkerAndEdgier the stakes are raised]]. It's mostly done with the usual angst mentioned above, with special note going to Kuno (his ego and CasanovaWannabe traits combine into sexual harassment), Principal Kuno (his sadistic eccentricity is not played for laughs at all), and the Tendos (they fall apart when their problems become too much to ignore). Most importantly, this fic shows that the LoveDodecahedron is ''not'' solved by Ranma and Ukyou becoming an OfficialCouple; they aren't completely out of the drama, and the other characters end up making the dodecahedron worse and worse now that the status quo has shifted.
** ''[[http://cartoon.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600095039 How I Learned to Love the Wild Horse]]'' (a PornWithPlot crossover with ''WesternAnimation/TotallySpies'') deconstructs the relationships with Ranma and the other characters, pointing out how they were basically one toxic relationship after another, to the point where Ranma (with help from Britney) ended up [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere leaving Nerima to start a new life in Beverly Hills]], spending the earlier parts of the fic in a near constant panic, partly from a conditioned response from the various abuses (to the point that the idea of a girl talking to him makes him fear a reprisal from Akane), and partly from the fear of his father, Akane, or the other members of the Nerima Wrecking Crew finding him. Meanwhile, WHOOP [[WrongGenreSavvy initially thinks the Wrecking Crew is some sort of terrorist group]], everyone is [[RefugeInAudacity equal parts skeptical and incredulous]] when Ranma talks about parts of his life (his TrainingFromHell, his various misadventures, etc.), and even ''[[AlphaBitch Mandy]]'' is [[EvenEvilHasStandards horrified]] when the extent of Ranma's abuse becomes apparent.
** ''[[https://jusenkyo.fandom.com/wiki/The_Bitter_End The Bitter End]]'' is a {{Deconstruction}} of BelligerentSexualTension. Ranma and Akane’s LoveEpiphany happens after a yearlong TimeSkip. During that year, Ranma goes through massive CharacterDevelopment, not only eliminating the {{Jerkass}} part of his JerkWithAHeartOfGold personality but getting rid of his UnwantedHarem.
*** {{Tsundere}}: Instead of BelligerentSexualTension, Zen treats Akane’s actions as a serious mental disorder. While Ranma undergoes CharacterDevelopment, she still has the deep-rooted trust issues regarding him: he just didn’t do anything to set her off. So when they get married and finally become intimate, that is her RageBreakingPoint.
*** DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale: Akane cannot mentally adjust to the idea of a mature and stable Ranma as a husband. While he made a serious effort to ''reform'' his behavior, it is so unlike the norm for Ranma that it has the opposite effect on Akane, making her ImproperlyParanoid. She would feel both inadequate and suspicious over imagined slights and the deep suspicion that Ranma was still being unfaithful, since the only reason he would be so nice is that he’d done something for which he was feeling guilty.
*** TheUnfairSex: Akane’s behavior and Ranma’s passive acceptance of it is reinforced by Soun, Genma and Nodoka, who opt to IgnoreTheDisability and instead chastise Ranma for making her angry in the first place.
*** UnprovokedPervertPayback: The work shows the dangers of hitting someone with a randomly grabbed object. Instead of a table or mallet, this time Akane grabs the Saotome Honor Blade.
* ''Manga/RosarioPlusVampire'':
** ''Fanfic/HeWhoFightsMonsters'' deconstructs the wacky hijinks of canon by removing the comedy and fanservice via Tsukune missing his fateful meeting with Moka. Without a powerful vampire friend to handle any threats, Tsukune is first tries to keep his head down but soon has to use lethal force against those who attack him. Afterwards, Tsukune takes to brutally killing anyone who fights him and semi-deliberately building up a reputation as TheDreaded. After only a single semester, Tsukune is made blatantly aware of the toll this is taking on his [[CoveredInScars physical]] and [[SanitySlippage mental]] health, to the point of brutally maiming a former bully and not recognizing a photo of himself from just before the semester. Furthermore, Headmaster Mikogami's TricksterMentor plan phenomenally blows up in his face. Rather than Tsukune acting as a bridge between humans and monsters, he becomes a worse monster than the actual monsters. When Mikogami finally approves Tsukune's transfer request, Tsukune instead rips up the paperwork and declares the headmaster won't get rid of him that easily.
** ''Fanfic/RosarioVampireBrightestDarkness Act III'' provides a deconstruction of SelectiveEnforcement. Headmaster Mikogami repeatedly does next to nothing about the various bullies and {{Jerkass}}es who deliberately go out of their way to torment and harass Tsukune and his friends, but punishes Tsukune and co. for simply acting in legitimate self-defense against said bullies and Jerkasses, to the extent that he threatens to separate them if they get into another fight. The deconstruction comes into play when the other students find out and take advantage of it to actively harass the gang even more without fear of any retribution, and when [[CameraFiend Kano]] uses it to his advantage as well to blackmail the girls into letting him take dirty pictures of them and nearly rape them; Mikogami wises up after the Kano incident and reinstates their right to defend themselves so it doesn't happen again.
* ''Franchise/SailorMoon'':
** Crystal Tokyo, the CrystalSpiresAndTogas {{utopia}}n [[TheFuture Future]], is frequently deconstructed into a KnightTemplar {{dystopia}} -- famously, in ''[[FanFic/ImHereToHelp I'm Here To Help]]''. Neo-Queen Serenity, Sailor Moon's future self, is described as "cleansing the Earth's people of evil". That would be enough to plant EpilepticTrees, but then in the second season, the Black Moon Clan showed up, time-travelling antagonists who refused to be "purified" and left Crystal Tokyo forever. That just made removing people's "evil" sound even more like a euphemism for mass {{Brainwash|ed}}ing.
** On the other hand, ''Fanfic/BeautifulDestroyerSailorMoon'' goes the SatireParodyPastiche shock value route, but somehow manages to do it in a mostly upbeat feel-good manner. Basically, if your eyes have scars from assorted unpleasant things you've come across online, this might actually help.
* ''Literature/SoundEuphonium'':
** ''Fanfic/AmbitiousLove'' deconstructs Kumiko and Reina's personalities. Neither are able to cope with loss well and both react in overly emotional ways to issues. Reina's [[IJustWantToBeSpecial desire to be special]] is depicted as self-destructive. It leads to her staying in an abusive relationship because her husband has connections in the music industry. The fic also deconstructs Taki. His emotional issues over his [[TheLostLenore first wife's death]] cause him to abuse drugs and alcohol. It gets to the point where he refuses to let his wife [[spoiler:Reina]] leave him despite his DomesticAbuse.
* ''Anime/TokyoMewMew'':
** ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7784423/1/Nice-Guys-Are-Boring Nice Guys are Boring]]'' gives the actual realistic outcome of the FanPreferredCouple trope between Ichigo/Kish and Ichigo/Ryou and the [[DieForOurShip Masaya-bashing]] that has been going in the fandom in order to give way to the aforementioned pairings. Here, Ichigo breaks up with Masaya not because he's unfaithful to her (a common device used in the fandom to separate them), but because she's bored with his nice-guy attitude of never trying anything risque with her. Kish is far from the LovableRogue the fandom often portrays him to be, and instead, although it was taken a bit to the extreme, is truer to his in-show personality: a deranged {{Yandere}} who only lusts after Ichigo's body and never really cared about her feelings at all. Ryou himself didn't get the better end of the stick either. His emotional scar of losing his mother prevented him from truly loving anyone else, including Ichigo. After knocking her up, instead of proposing to her and taking the responsibility, he simply gave her some money and an address to an abortion clinic. After everything had been said and done, Ichigo finds out that even though Masaya moved on and dated her best friend Lettuce, he still loves Ichigo all the same, even with her being pregnant with Ryou's child.
* ''Manga/TsubasaReservoirChronicle'':
** ''Fanfic/{{Shatterheart}}'' deconstructs the concept of LovingAShadow and Creator/{{CLAMP}}'s concept of destined love. After the events of Acid Tokyo [[spoiler: Clone!]]Sakura never warms up to [[spoiler: Real!]]Syaoran. Both [[spoiler: Clone!]]Sakura and [[spoiler: Real!]]Syaoran know that the other is similar to their lover, but have too many differences to be them. Neither of them love each other because they don't want [[LovingAShadow love a shadow.]] Syaoran hasn't seen [[spoiler: Real!]]Sakura in years and he realizes it's unhealthy for him to devote his entire life to someone that he hasn't seen [[spoiler: or not even sure that she's alive.]] Despite literally being destined for Sakura, Syaoran moves on and [[SecondLove falls in love]] [[spoiler: and marries Kurogane]].
* ''Anime/YuriOnIce'':
** While the ''Fanfic/RivalsSeries'' ultimately stays true to the original anime and does [[{{Reconstruction}} come to the same conclusion]] regarding the story, it does take a closer look at some aspects of the anime and examines them in-depth:
*** [[WeightWoe Yuuri's insecurity about his weight]]: while in the [[Anime/YuriOnIce original anime]] this aspect of Yuuri's character was mostly PlayedForLaughs, in the fic Viktor's [[spoiler:offhand jab at Yuuri's weight]] is ultimately what led to Yuuri's resentment of him. Especially since an impressionable twelve-year old is being insulted by their idol, Yuuri's esteem is crushed.
*** Viktor's BrutalHonesty, in the same manner as the above, is shown to have [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome realistic]] (and horrible) consequences. Viktor's attempts at advice and criticism end up annoying at best and cruel at worst. Viktor's honesty unintentionally undermines Viktor's attempts to get Yuuri to like him and cause him to loathe him even more.
*** Yuuri's [[HeroicSelfDeprecation low self esteem]] and its manifestation as [[InnocentlyInsensitive callousness]] [[LackOfEmpathy towards]] Viktor is carefully examined as well. Since Yuuri doesn't realize that Viktor is in love with him, he ends up leading Viktor into an emotionally-unfulfilling fuck-buddy relationship.
*** Yuuri and Viktor's [[PoorCommunicationKills communication problems]], while present in the anime, take a front row in this fic and are explored to the greatest extent possible through the one-sided narratives.

While Toshinori clearly sympathizes with his plight, he doesn't say a word against it, letting Izuku pass him by without offering even a shred of comfort.

They are manipulating other worlds described as the parodies of other fandom cliches.

''Fanfic/{{Nightingale}}'' also deconstructs a few things from canon, like the Hyūga clan's branch system [[ChildSoldiers and the]] NinjaBrat [[ChildSoldiers trope]], the latter of which is demonstrated both through fully-grown former Ninja Brat characters and a young genin team of ten-year-olds.
** ''[[http://archiveofourown.org/series/232839 The Hopeless Wanderer]]'' series deconstructs Naruto's AllOfTheOtherReindeer status and the lack of attentive adult figures in his life. Namely that in realistic situations isolated people are popular targets for abusive or toxic relationships. Sasuke targets and traps Naruto into a codependent relationship with him by undermining Naruto's faith in others by pointing out Iruka and Sarutobi's lack of involvement, Kakashi's neglect, and Sakura's abrasiveness and making himself seem like he cares for Naruto's well-being. Since early series Naruto is known to latch on to people who give him affection, this leads him to downward spiral to the point of becoming a Missing-Nin with Sasuke. Everyone involved knows that they have no one but themselves to blame for not catching the warning signs of a toxic relationship between the two until it was too late.
** ''Fanfic/IAmNOTGoingThroughPubertyAgain'' does this with PeggySue plots:
*** First, none of the time travelers knew time travel was even ''possible''. Naruto had sealed away all scrolls pertaining to jutsu involving time travel, as they were experimental at best and thus potentially dangerous.
*** Secondly, none of them ''wanted'' to go back in time. Another reason why those scrolls were sealed away is because the world was as close to peace as it was ever going to be. If any of those experimental jutsu had succeeded, the user could potentially undo all the progress made towards what was as close to an ideal future as the ninja world could get.
*** Finally, the time travelers don't bother keeping all the details, because they don't remember them. The events of Part I, to them, happened ''decades ago''. There's no way they'd be able to keep track of all the details and maintain a path towards an idealized future, so they don't even bother. Hence, they instead screw around with everything in order to enjoy themselves and let the chips fall where they may.
** ''Fanfic/SonOfTheSannin'' deconstructs the use of OneWingedAngel among the villains, showing two extremes of this trope with Kimimaro and [[spoiler: Mizuki]], who are given Cursed Seals by Orochimaru. The former only uses the seal sparingly, so he's still rather inexperienced with its drawbacks, like loss of speed or increased chakra consumption, and he loses to an opponent who has more experience and is able to drag on the battle to use them to his advantage. The latter, on the other hand, uses it as much as possible to the point it becomes a crutch for him. He finds himself facing an opponent he can't overpower by brute strength alone, so when the Cursed Seal fails him, he has nothing else to rely on.
