* InvincibleVillain: As the owners and admins of the computer system they're all trapped in, Monowumpus and Discord-Chan are completely impossible for the players to oppose in any meaningful way. Averted with Mark Zuckerburg, as Door punches him in the face in the final chapter of Discordronpa 1, as well as with Steve Jobs and Tim Cook, who are defeated by the RPers in a RPG style battle.

* BigGood: GB for Discordronpa 1, as she [[spoiler: was a spy sent in by unknown authorities to save the lives of the teenagers trapped in the Discordronpa Killing Game]], and Door-kun in Discordronpa 2, as [[spoiler: he's the force on the outside trying to save the others from Tim Cook and the killing game and ends up saving them in Chapter 8's finale.]]

** In the first game, [[spoiler: The deceased are able to speak with the living, as they aren't dead, merely in a deletion queue. However, [[TheSmartGuy Door-kun]] couldn't hear the deceased for inexplicable reasons that were never stated IRp.
** In the second game, [[spoiler:players who die are inexplicably able to show up in a particular back alley due to a glitch, and can occasionally speak mentally with the living. This is due to the leftover data from their mind scans sticking around in the system; Pika downloads this data after escaping from the sim and entrusts it to the Tempests, but despite their intentions to revive the data as [=AIs=], it's not made clear whether they will ever succeed at this.]]

There is zero in-universe reason for this to have happened, and he admits later that he was "having an ''extra'' moment". [[spoiler:Even when he changes back to his previous appearance, he makes a point of ripping off the "akumatized" cat collar and all -- Sylvi asks if that was actually necessary or if he was just being "extra" again, and he claims not to actually know.]]

* HeroesUseSwords: Door uses a rapier for the entirety of Chapter 9 of Discordronpa 2, and as the BigGood of DDR2, he is by technicality a hero.
* He'sBack: In the first season, post Chapter 4, Door has a mental breakdown for most of Chapter 5 and even into Chapter 6 because of [[spoiler: Kai's death and execution.]] However, in Chapter 7, he finally steps up again with comforting Kiwi and promising to "Get the hell out of there."

* TunelessSongOfMadness: In the second chapter of the second season, Sylvi responded to the motive of an impending destruction-by-meteor by singing, appropriately enough, "Answers" from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIV''. She fell back into the habit in the seventh chapter, when everyone was poisoned and expecting to die.
