Sherrie Hewson, born Sherrie Lynn Hutchinson, (17 September 1950), was a British actress best known for her roles in many soap operas.

She made her TV debut in 1971 in two episodes of ''Series/ZCars'', which was followed by appearances in ''The Moonstone'' and ''Within These Walls''. She briefly joined the ''Film/CarryOn'' team in 1975 for ''Film/CarryOnBehind'' and 4 episodes of ''Series/CarryOnLaughing''.

As TheSeventies continued, Hewson became a regular face on British television. During TheEighties, her roles balanced between comedies and dramas.

In 1993, she got a role in ''Series/CoronationStreet'' as Maureen Webster, although she planned to leave the show in 1996 to star in ''Series/OhDoctorBeeching'', she signed another contract after hearing of new storylines for her character, and so Julia Deakin took her place in ''Oh, Doctor Beeching!''. Despite this, her character was axed in 1997 by Brian Park, the show's new producer.

After a return to the theatre and many light entertainment appearances, she was a regular on ''Series/{{Emmerdale}}'' for 2 years, and joined the cast of ''Series/{{Benidorm}}'' in 2012. She was cast as as Mrs. Slocombe in the 2016 ''Series/AreYouBeingServed'' revival, although only one episode was produced and aired after low ratings.
