These details are irrelevant to Meyers' career

Meyers took over Series/LateNight, replacing Creator/JimmyFallon, meaning that Seth's reign as Weekend Update anchor and head writer on SNL has come to an end. Meyers is now one of the longest-running Weekend Update anchor, beating out Creator/TinaFey and Creator/DennisMiller. His successors for Weekend Update in season 39 were Creator/CecilyStrong and head writer, Colin Jost. In season 40, Creator/ColinJost stayed, but Creator/CecilyStrong was replaced with Creator/MichaelChe, making it the first time in SNL history that a black cast member is hired as a Weekend Update anchor, the second time (after the temporary pairing of Amy Poehler and Creator/HoratioSanz) Weekend Update has had an interracial anchor pairing, and the first time Weekend Update has two male anchors (and the second time both anchors were of the same gender, after the famous pairing of Creator/TinaFey and Creator/AmyPoehler).

Prior to being a Weekend Update anchor, Seth was just an ordinary SNL cast member who got his start during the 2001-2002 season (season 27; the season that saw the show [and America at large] trying to recover from the 9/11 attacks and the end of Creator/WillFerrell's and Ana Gasteyer's respective runs on the show). * OddCouple: With Martha Stewart, of all people. Watching his frequent appearances on Stewart's show is both bizarre and thoroughly entertaining. Mentioned on a fake SNL commercial for a photo studio specializing in taking cell phone pictures of men's penises. Seth Meyers' testimonial ends with him saying, "You're welcome, Martha Stewart." Oddly enough, one of his Late Night Predecessors, Creator/ConanOBrien was this with Martha Stewart as well.
* PlatonicLifePartners: He often refers to Creator/AmyPoehler as his "best friend" and during his Weekend Update run even signed off each of his segments by tapping the desk where she used to sit. It goes to the point that there's a recurring segment on Late Night, "Really?", that Seth performs with Amy and only Amy whenever she's a guest.

* WhatTheHellIsThatAccent: Typical of his impressions during his years as a repertory cast member (from season 27 to season 31.2001-2002 season to 2005-2006 season; every season after that, he's been a Weekend Update anchor who rarely, if ever, appears in sketches Near the end they began to veer into NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent territory. Particularly hilarious when you take into account that he lived in Europe for several years and his brother, Josh, is better at accents and voices than he is as evidenced on his two-year stint on Series/MADtv.
* WeirdnessMagnet: The characters Meyers interacts with on Weekend Update are all very bizarre and the only thing Seth can do is play straight man to their craziness. Some notable examples of crazy include: Creator/BillHader as Stefon and James Carville, Andy Samberg as Creator/NicolasCage, Creator/KristenWiig as Aunt Linda and Music/LanaDelRey (when news hit that her performance on SNL confirmed many critics' beliefs that Del Rey was a terrible singer), Creator/FredArmisen as David Patterson (the blind former governor of UsefulNotes/NewYorkState former governor who would always make jokes about how bad UsefulNotes/NewJersey is), Bobby Moynihan as Drunk Uncle, Anthony Crispino, and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi from Series/JerseyShore, Cecily Strong as The Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation With at a Party, and Kate [=McKinnon=] as Cecilia Giménezthe woman who made news when she ruined a painting of Jesus Christ when she tried to restore it and Anne Romney.

Particularly hilarious when you take into account that he lived in Europe for several years and his brother, Josh, is better at accents and voices than he is as evidenced on his two-year stint on Series/MADtv.
Lampshaded on Late Night when he would recognize whenever he didn't nail an impression by saying something along the lines of "Yeah, that was my [X] impression" and apologize.
* WeirdnessMagnet: The characters Meyers interacts with on Weekend Update are all very bizarre and the only thing Seth can do is play straight man to their craziness. Some notable examples of crazy include: Creator/BillHader as Stefon and James Carville, Andy Samberg as Creator/NicolasCage, Creator/KristenWiig as Aunt Linda and Music/LanaDelRey (when news hit that her performance on SNL confirmed many critics' beliefs that Del Rey was a terrible live singer), Creator/FredArmisen as David Patterson (the blind former governor of UsefulNotes/NewYorkState former governor who would always make jokes about how bad UsefulNotes/NewJersey is), Bobby Moynihan as Drunk Uncle, Anthony Crispino, and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi from Series/JerseyShore, Cecily Strong as The Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation With at a Party, and Kate [=McKinnon=] as Cecilia Giménezthe woman who made news when she ruined a painting of Jesus Christ when she tried to restore it and Anne Romney.

It goes to the point that there's a recurring segment on Late Night, "Really?", that Seth performs with Amy and only Amy whenever she's a guest.
