Raina Telgemeier (born May 26, 1977) is an American comicbook writer and artist best known for her series of Scholastic Books graphic novels, including the Eisner award-winning autobiographical ''Smile''. Much of her work is drawn from her childhood, focusing on the difficulties of adjusting to new siblings, or dealing with her [[OppositesAttract polar opposite]] parents sometimes tense relationship.

* ACupAngst: Played with in ''Smile''. When Raina's mother says they need to start discussing her wearing a bra, the recently turned thirteen year old Raina drowns her out with a long "Mommmmmm."

* RageBreakingPoint: In the middle of her dental work ordeal, Raina puts up with a lot of teasing from her friends. Until, that is, some of them sneak up and jerk her skirt down in front of dozens of other students. Their defense that she was wearing tights underneath it (and thus obviously nothing was shown) cuts no ice with a furious Raina, who lambastes them for both that and the constant digs at her braces, and she stops hanging around with them immediately.
