Currently, the network seems to exist as a rerun farm for Nick's lower-tier animated and live action series, along with plenty of ''SpongeBob'' marathons like the main network. It's also used as a backstop to [[BurningOff burn off]] the rights to international Nickelodeon series which the main American Nick network has no serious plans to give them a chance (for instance, the short run of ''WesternAnimation/OggyAndTheCockroaches'' solely done because the company's distributor wouldn't license the series popular in Eurasia without an American run). There's also a block of "sports" programming known as [=NickSports=], which airs sports-related cartoons and league {{Infomercial}}s for kids for the NFL and NASCAR.

At around 2009, [[NetworkDecay less and less original Nicktoons were shown]] in favor of more action-oriented animated programs, presumably to compete with boy-focused Creator/DisneyXD and Cartoon Network. Two live-action programs, ''TheTroop'' (with a few animated special effects) and ''Series/BigTimeRush'' (totally live-action) also aired on Nicktoons. '''All''' of the aforementioned original toons were either playing in the graveyard slots or scrapped, and they were investing in strictly superhero adaptations of MarvelUniverse characters; with Creator/{{Disney}} having bought out MarvelComics, that might change soon...
