Melanie Kay Hutsell (born August 2, 1968 in Maryville, Tennessee) is an American comedian, actress, and writer. An improv performer in Chicago, she played Jan in ''The Real Live Brady Bunch'', a live-performed reenactment of ''Series/TheBradyBunch'' that became a cult sensation in TheNineties. The show’s success raised her profile enough so that she gained a slot on ''Series/SaturdayNightLive'' in 1991. Staying on SNL for three years, she continued to play Jan Brady, as well as impressions of Creator/MayimBialik, Music/TammyWynette and Creator/ToriSpelling.
Hutsell married Fred Rapoport in 1997. They had their first child a couple of years later, and Hutsell left show business to raise her children. She would stay out of the limelight for about a decade before returning to comedy in 2009.
