Linwood Vrooman Carter (June 9, 1930 – February 7, 1988) was an American author of science fiction and fantasy, as well as an editor, poet and critic. He wrote under several pen names over his career, including Lin Carter, H. P. Lowcraft, and Grail Undwin. Over the course of his 23-year career, he was influential in the genres of science fiction and fantasy, in addition to his pastiches of Creator/HPLovecraft and Creator/RobertEHoward.

He died of cancer in 1988.
