Larry Martyn, born Lawrence Martyn, (22 March 1934 -- 7 August 1994)), was a British actor best known for playing Mr. Mash in ''Series/AreYouBeingServed''.

After being a member of the Parachute Regiment, he became famous as Mr. Mash in ''Are You Being Served?''. After appearing in the first three series, he chose to leave due to a scheduling conflict with filming for the series ''Spring & Autumn''.

After the death of James Beck in 1973, Martyn played his role (Private Walker} in ''Series/DadsArmy'''s radio adaptation. He also had minor roles in two early '70s ''Film/CarryOn'' films.

He died at the age of 60.
