Davy Kaye, [[UsefulNotes/KnightFever MBE]], born David Kodeish, (25 March 1916 -- 3 February 1998), was a British actor and entertainer.
In his student days, he appeared on stage at school. His professional debut came in 1935 at the Mile End Empire. He had tried to enlist in the army during UsefulNotes/WorldWarII, but was turned down due to being 4'11". He instead spent the war years entertaining the troops and on [[Creator/TheBBC BBC radio]].
