In July 2022, Wu revealed that she attempted suicide due to online backlash surrounding social media posts she made in 2019 expressing her unhappiness about the renewal of ''Fresh Off the Boat'' for a sixth season. In the intervening three years, she abstained from social media use and decreased her acting workload to focus on therapy and improving her mental health. She made her debut as an author with the October 2022 release of her memoir, ''Making a Scene''.

Constance Tianming Wu (born March 22, 1982) is an American actress.

Wu is best known for portraying Rachel Chu in the 2018 romantic comedy ''Film/CrazyRichAsians'', based on Kevin Kawn's 2013 novel [[Literature/CrazyRichAsians of the same name]]. After the success of the film, an adaptation of the book's sequel, ''China Rich Girlfriend'', entered development with Wu attached to reprise her role.
