** Calling things "war crimes". He'll similarly invoke Richard Nixon when he is simply not a fan of a recipe.

* BigNo: From "Deep Fried Cookie Dough", a cracked "eggy" has most of its shell fall into the mixture, prompting this reaction.
** The 1959 "Coffee Loaf" recipe also has this mixed with SkywardScream when Dylan tosses a container of Morton's Salt from one hand to the other, only to miss and spill on the floor - until one cut replaces the screaming with him coughing once then resuming the recipe.

* CordonBleughChef: Not by any fault of his own, but some of the recipes are absolutely horrid. For example, Jellied Meatloaf, or Pickle Cheesecake.

Removing the YMMV listings since creators should not have those.

Compare with ''WebVideo/TastingHistoryWithMaxMiller'', the ''other'' gay male food historian on Platform/YouTube.

!!Provides !!His videos provide examples of:

* FanNickname: "Pre-Serum [[ComicBook/CaptainAmerica Steve Rogers]]" due to his rail-thin figure and old-timey aesthetic (especially the hair).

* FridgeBrilliance: Some of the more ridiculous ingredient combinations that result in tasty dishes make sense when you realize what the ingredient is made of. The "Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake" is one example: mayo is made of oil and egg yolks, two ingredients that separately are useful in the production of a cake.
* FriendlyFandoms: With ''WebVideo/TastingHistoryWithMaxMiller'', the ''other'' gay male food historian on Youtube. Their styles are vastly different (Dylan is more the Comedian who tries to be entertaining, Max is more the Teacher who tries to be educational, though neither is without the other's strength, as Dylan can be very informative and Max can be very witty,) so people may prefer one over the other, but they'll still be a fan of both, and the comments have been begging for a collaboration. Max even gave Hollis a ShoutOut in his "Hot Dr. Pepper" video!

* PeripheryDemographic: Despite a lot of the raunchy humor in his videos, he has a lot of child fans who simply enjoy him for his over-the-top reactions and the [[FoodPorn yummy-looking desserts he makes.]] Comments from parents on his videos even note that he's inspired their kids to try baking as well. It helps that most of his naughty jokes are innuendos, so they tend to go over the heads of his younger fans; [[ParentalBonus naturally, their parents laugh at those.]]

Misplaced, moving to the correct tab (Creator pages should not have Trivia or YMMV; moving data to main and requesting cut.)

* BonusMaterial: The Platform/YouTube channel has extended videos that go into deep detail about the recipes, including tests to improve them when possible.

* {{Corpsing}}: There are several videos where Dylan starts laughing at some point due to being caught off guard by a certain ingredient, the way the food turns out, or the general silliness of what he's making, such as:
** In the "7Up Jello salad" video, he loses it when he turns the "salad" out of the pan onto a plate and then turns the plate to watch it jiggle.
** The "cheese cookies" video features several cuts of him laughing at the addition of Rice Krispies into the mix.
--->Worcestershire! A tablespoon of Tobasco! And two cups--*''starts laughing''* Plus two cup--*''laughs some more''* I can't say it! *''cracks up''* Mmm! Rice Krispies!
** He doesn't even make it through the intro of the "crusty Spam bake" video before he starts laughing.
** Dylan dissolves into laughter at several points during the "Candle Salad" video because of how silly and CrossesTheLineTwice-esque it is.
** In his "date cream" video, he broke out in a fit of giggles over an AccidentalInnuendo.
--->I don't know, I've never made a date cream before. *''realizes what he said, laughs uncontrollably''* I've never ''cooked'' a date cream before!

* SerendipityWritesThePlot: Dylan is primarily a musician. The cooking videos started while in lockdown during the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic. To fight boredom, he filmed himself trying out recipes from an old cookbook he bought from an estate sale, and the rest is history.
