He has his dog tags from the original films despite never getting them in the new timeline, a samurai sword as a reference to ''The Wolverine'' and references the Battle at the Statue of Liberty from ''X-Men'' when talking to Xavier under the belief he was talking about that event. Eventually it was confirmed this film takes place in a BroadStrokes AlternateUniverse, fixing these issues.

However, ''Origins'' would establish that Logan and Victor were fighting in Vietnam during this time. Given that American troops left Vietnam in March, that means for the timeline to make sense Logan and Victor must have enlisted/been drafted between January and February, before almost immediately getting an execution.
