* George A. Romero's ''Film/DawnOfTheDead1978'' was released in Italy as ''Zombi''. Italian director Creator/LucioFulci then released his own zombie movie, which had nothing to do with ''Dawn'', and titled it ''Film/{{Zombi 2}}'' to cash in on the success of the former. ''Zombi 2'' was subsequently released in the US as ''Zombie''; future films in the series, however, shared the numbering on both sides of the pond, confusing many American viewers as to why they can't find ''Zombie 2'' anywhere.

* ''Film/RiseOfThePlanetOfTheApes'' is called in Italian ''L'alba del Pianeta delle Scimmie'' ("Dawn of the Planet of the Apes")... which would be, coincidentially, a literal translation of [[Film/DawnOfThePlanetOfTheApes the sequel]]'s title. So that one was renamed ''Il Pianeta delle Scimmie - Revolution'' (''Planet of the Apes - Revolution'').
