* InNameOnly: The kartoon shorts by Bill Nolan and Charles Mintz. Nolan, who had formerly worked at the PatSullivan studio, turned Krazy into a FelixTheCat {{Expy}}, while Mintz made him reminiscent of MickeyMouse and gave him a dog and a girlfriend!

* AsianSpeakeeEngrish: Mock Duck.

* MorallyAmbiguousDucktorate: While the recurring ducks in the strip, Gooseberry Sprig and Mock Duck, aren't bad, a duck ''is'' the villain in the legend detailing why robins fly south for the winter.

* TheVamp: Krazy thinks of Pauline Pullet as such.

* WhoWouldWantToWatchUs: An episode of the 1963 series actually played with this. Kokonino Kounty is going bankrupt and Ignatz suggests that they sell a kartoon about themselves to television. Officer Pupp laughs it off, only for Ignatz to throw a brick at him and say "Go ahead and laugh! They laughed at Al Brodax too!" (Brodax being the show's executive producer.)

* AnimalJingoism: Averted like "Krazy". The main LoveTriangle is a dog who loves a kat who loves a mouse.

* DeliveryStork: Joe Stork delivers all the babies; Krazy has been known to follow him when he's making his deliveries in order to be first to kongragulate the parents. This partially akounts for the strip's lack of klear gender; at one point Krazy loudly 'breaks up' with Ignatz as the stork walks by, explaining afterwards that he/she doesn't want Joe to take their relationship the wrong way and send a baby. Interestingly, the kreator experimented with drawing Krazy as female and pregnant, but decided that the kat should be a 'sprite', neither a he or a she.

* [[HighOnCatnip High On Katnip]]: Due to prohibition, Krazy has to eat "near katnip", which doesn't have the same "kick".

* FridgeHorror: Kats who overdose on katnip bekome violent. Otherwise, they just bekome friendly. Tiger Tea, a kind of katnip, makes karakters violent. Krazy has been overdosing!

*** Herriman so enjoyed Tiger Tea's personality-altering kharakteristiks that he extended the storyline to last nearly a year, making it the longest story in the strip's history.
* HoYay: As mentioned before, Krazy's gender seems to change at times. Pupp's and Ignatz's never do, so when Krazy is male, the love triangle is all-male.

* FridgeHorror: Kats who overdose on katnip bekome violent. Tiger Tea, a kind of katnip, makes karakters violent. Krazy has been overdosing!

* NameAndName: When this strip was first bekoming distinkt from ''TheFamilyUpstairs'', it was kalled ''Krazy Kat and Ignatz''.

While the komic never kaught on with a mainstream audience, it remains an influence to kartoonists to this day; Bill Watterson of ''[[CalvinAndHobbes Kalvin And Hobbes]]'' fame cites it as a major influence and featured Kalvin's parents admiring a Krazy Kat strip in a museum in one Sunday strip. Even before then, Ignatz himself went on to be a MauveShirt in the Mort Walker/Jeff Dumas vehikle, ''ComicStrip/SamsStrip'' in the 1960s.

* AllGirlsWantBadBoys - Assuming Krazy is female in today's outing.

* AmbiguousGender - Krazy Kat

* {{Author Existence Failure}} - Herriman died unexpectedly while the strip was still running, so there is no finale or konclusion. Although you kould argue that none would really be possible in this strip...
** Note that while Hearst had used all his klout to keep the strip going during Herriman's lifetime, upon his death Hearst did just the opposite. In an era when replacing a deceased komic strip kreator was the standard industry practice, Hearst issued an order that no one be allowed to kontinue Krazy Kat and ended the komic with Herriman's death. Reportedly he had auditioned dozens of kartoonists for this eventuality but koncluded that no one kould ever match Herriman's style.

* BoringButPractical - One strip had Krazy telling Door Mouse how impractical it is karrying a door all the time. However, he/she fails to notice the practical uses the door has while blabbling at length about how it doesn't have any, including its use as a makeshift bridge, or to fling back a brick thrown by Ignatz.

* EnemyMine - A 1930 story arc (in a komic that has very few such things), one Kiskidee Kuku komes to Coconino and begins to successfully woo Krazy. Ignatz and Pupp become briefly brotherly in their [[OverprotectiveDad mutual dislike]] of the interloper.
* FridgeBrilliance: The whole relationship between Krazy and Ignatz is a subtle kommentary on unhealthy relationships.
* FunetikAksent - Krazy's extremely thick Brooklyn/New Orleans akcent.

* GenderBender - Krazy Kat. Needless to say, a raging inversion of [[TertiarySexualCharacteristics Tertiary Sexual Kharacteristics]] as well.

* GRatedDrug - Tiger Tea. It makes a worm believe it is an anakonda.

* HeyItsThatVoice: In the 1963 series Ignatz and Pupp was voiced by Paul Frees, whose well-known roles include [[RockyAndBullwinkle Boris Badenov]], [[WaltDisney Ludwig Von Drake]], among many others.

''However'', Eklipse komics ''did'' release kollections of the strips from 1920 to 1924 during the 90's, but their final kollection which would kover the strips from the year 1925 was unfortunately never published (but one of the hardkover kollections kovers 1925 so that's OK). So it's safe to say it is entirely possible to kollect all of the original strips as of now. Assuming you have kash to burn.
