altered intro

''Watson and Holmes'' is a Website/{{Kickstarter}}-funded comic book by Creator/KarlBollers and Rick Leonardi, adapted from the ''Franchise/SherlockHolmes'' stories by Creator/ArthurConanDoyle. Here, Holmes and Watson are depicted as black men working in present day Harlem. The comic, consisting of four issues, was released in 2013.

Dr. Jon Watson is a veteran from Afghanistan who now works as a doctor in an inner city hospital. He meets private investigator Sherlock Holmes when one of his cases brings him to said hospital. From there, the two are brought to work together (at Holmes' behest) on a case involving a missing girl. From there, they become partners and take on a whole series of cases.

Like the inspiration, Holmes is a private detective, and Watson is his assistant. That's the only similarity they share, though. In this adaptation, Holmes and Watson are black and live in the Harlem district of UsefulNotes/NewYorkCity.

Badass Mustache and Badass Beard were merged into Manly Facial Hair. Examples that don't fit or are zero-context are removed. Having facial hair is not enough to qualify. To qualify for Manly Facial Hair, the facial hair must be associated with manliness in some way. Please read the trope description before re-adding to make sure the example qualifies.
