Ultron, the killer robot, sent packs of robots to abduct his creator Henry Pym (working at a lab) and the Grim Reaper (Wonder Man's brother, held in a madhouse). The Wasp asked the Avengers for help, but they were informed of an attack at a Wakandian factory. They head there, thinking that it was Ultron, but it was Alkema (another killer robot, rival of Ultron). They defeat him and know about Ultron's wereabouts: he had completely obliterated the tiny nation of Slorenia, killing every human being within its borders.

The Wasp, the Vision, Scarlet Witch and Wonder Man sought for clues at Pym's lab, and they were all abducted by another pack of robots as well. The remaining Avengers headed a military mission of the UN to secure Slorenia and destroy Ultron.

* VillainousRescue: The Grim Reaper was released by the Vision, who interfaced with Ultron's computers, and fired a laser torch to liberate the Avengers. His motivation was simple: he was in Ultron's lair, in a dead country, without his scythe (remember that he lacks a hand), helpless against a killer robot... who ''else'' was going to save his life? He did not stay for the fight, he freed the Avengers and escaped.

'''Ultron Unlimited''' is a 2001 storyline of ComicBook/TheAvengers, written by Kurt Busiek, with art of George Perez.

The Wasp, the Vision, Scarlet Witch and Wonder Man sought for clues at Pym's lab, and they were all abducted by another pack of robots as well. The remaining Avengers headed a military mission of the UN to secure Slorenia and destroy Ultron.

Ultron had a problem: if he succedded in destroying the human race and replacing it with robots whose mind was an extension of his own, he would be alone in the world. The recent discovery of Pym would allow him to create countless random brain patterns from a small sample group, all of them subject to a single "hive master" one. And for the base of those brain patterns, Ultron selected people close to him (his "family" in a sense):
* Henry Pym, his creator, and his "father"
* The Wasp, the former wife of Pym, his "mother" (the detail that they divorced is of no concern to his mania)
* The Vision, his "son", created by him
* The Scarlet Witch, the Vision's former wife, his "daughter-in-law" (again, they are divorced, but ask him if he cares)
* Wonder Man, whose brain patterns were used to build the Vision
* The Grim Reaper, Ultron's first human associate

The other Avengers locate and destroy Ultron after a painful curb-stomp battle. They located the cave where Ultron had the captive Avengers... and then, another Ultron appeared. And another. And another, and dozens, hundreds, thousands. The "Prime one" was still working with the others. The Vision managed to break free, and liberate the Grim Reaper, who liberated the others.
